This right here. I watched a ton of videos about this bike, but your review is what sold me. Today I purchased a 2024 Candy Daring Red GSX-S1000GT+.. Now I have to wait 4 months for winter to run its course. It's going to be a really long winter..lol
Thanks! I don't think that you will be sorry for your decision. But wait four months? I hope you can get out a little to enjoy your new bike. I really like the red color.
@@ParallelCamper got my GSX-S1000GT+ on the road for the season. What an incredible ride. If it would just stop raining (which it does a lot of in the spring) I might be able to get some miles on it. Video's coming soon.
Thanks Patrick! I do think that this bike fits the bill. There are many nice places to ride within an hour of my home but I do need the freeway ride to get there.
Thanks! I did look at and sit on the MT10 but did not get a chance to ride it. When I bought the GSXS, the dealership that had an MT10 wanted an added mark up of $1800 over the MSRP. I was able to get the GSXS for $1000 below MSRP. I am still very happy with the GSXS.
Thanks Carl! I hope that you are able to ride again soon but I know from my own experience that you can't rush it. For me the mental part of recovery was as much as the physical.
I have the "touring" screen on mine.being 5; 6 it covers most of me most of the time. i wish it was adjustable but... I find it better than stock for noise, wind and comfort. as the man said. its fun when you want. its comfy and once you get used to "progressive" brakes.. pretty easy to throw around. Unless I want to hoon, riding at less than 6k is pleasure, easy and you still have plenty of torque without needing to play with modes. very happy with mine (58y here, so a spring chicken)
Thanks for checking out the video. I do still really like this bike and am making a couple of mods to increase the the comfort for longer distance rides. I am adding a Helibars setback riser that moves the bars about 1/2" up and back. I am also considering the comfort seat that is offered as an accesory on the GX version. I haven't made a decision about the wind screen but the touring varient might be in my future. The feedback and advice is much appreciated.
I just bought one last weekend. I'm already to get my first oil change. My friends ask why a 56 year old man wanted witha sport bike with bags. I tell them I love to ride weather it's a cruiser, dual sport, sport bike, so I got the best of all three rolled into one. Great bike. I did put on a bar riser that brought the bars up and another inch closer to me. I am a little more upright now. I have a new windshield coming for it haven't got that yet but I'm still riding this everywhere. Like your vid.
Congratulations! I don't need to praise the bike as you are finding out what a great bike it is yourself. I haven't done any modifications other than the addition of aux running lights. I have seen many recommendations for the bar riser and am considering it myself along with a windshield change. Thanks!
I took ownership of this bike in Triton blue a month or so ago and desperately waiting for a day when it’s not raining here in the UK. Great video thanks 😊
Very enjoyable ROB, what a beautiful ride. I hope they get the road open before it snows again?🤣I have to concur that the big cubic inches are fun. Power and rock steady riding down the road. I did an up and back to Tucson on Big Red yesterday thinking to myself what a comfortable way to see the world. Yesterday was the last 100 degree day in the 14 day forecast in AZ ... Thank God!
Thanks VW! I can feel a big grin every time I ride. There are a bunch of things I didn't talk about in my video like 45 MPG and the cruise control. And like every Suzuki I have owned the speedo reads about 4 MPH fast based on my GPS. Summer does appear to be over. It rained here last night and temps are running in the low 70's. I could ride to the desert, but the roads are all so straight.
I absolutely love mine! I have been riding the street for 38 years and it is meat and potatoes, just a bike. Like riding a bike that lets you just ride it (like the old days). I have had many bikes with all the rider aids, and this is my favorite. It is fun fast and handles well. It can be a monster if you want it to be. It will do 153mph with the bags on (or so I have herd wink wink don't try this on public roads unless you are on Mt Emma road in So Cal). I am 5' 11" and 194lbs 205lbs with all my gear and it is comfortable for me. I have put a Suzuki seat upgrade and changed the lever locations for my comfort. I have found that while riding it hard the quick shifter has a issue while shifting from 4th to 5th. That may be me not shifting it hard enough. All in all a great bike.
It is a great bike. I am quite a bit heavier than you but about the same height and find it comfortable too. No real issues for me with the bike and it is factory stock so far with only the addition of spools for a stand and a pair of running lights to enhance my visibility to others. Thanks for checking out the video.
Rob!! Nice video and music choice. Although I'm not sure I'll ever get a street bike, that beast sure looks like a lot of fun! Beautiful countryside you got near your home👌
You are 69yrs old , i am 56 years old, i thought i was too old for it, , always loved the concourse 1400 gt , but then this showed up, really nice bike 🙂👊🏼
This bike is extremely well mannered if you keep it under 6000 RPM, has plenty of low end grunt and fine handling. When you are ready to wring it out, the power is available. I am still very happy with my purchase. Thanks!
Nice to see someone my age still out there doing it. I have a Bmw s1000xr and a HD Lowrider ST and still clock up good miles here in NZ with my pillion in a million wife. We just came back from 6weeks riding around Spain and Portugal. When people ask when I will stop riding the answer is when I can no longer ride. Keep enjoying it mate while we still can.
You've got a couple of great bikes and it's fantastic that your wife rides with you. My wife won't get near my motorcycles. I envy your travels. It is also my plan to ride until I just can't and then possibly just one more time. Thanks for checking out the video.
This bike and the Kawasaki 1000 with the same features are both great bikes according to the experts out there. The Kawasaki often comes in first in the head-to-head comparisons. But I do love the big Suzuki.
That is a great road and hopefully next spring it will be open for the full 66 miles of twists and turns. The weather was perfect. I hope you get the opportunity to ride one. Thanks for checking out the video..
I honestly believe that this bike will be as easy to control as your Ninja. I leave the throttle response set on the middle adjustment to keep the power application smooth. I would have bought the red color had it been available at the time.

Mr. PC, I wanted to come and watch another video of yours and let you know how much it means to me that not only did you take the time to watch my latest video but to leave a Nice COMMENT.! That GSX s1000gt would be a DREAM MACHINE for little Moi.! 🏍
I originally started making the same style MotoVids as everyone else, but I am not a good public speaker & Camera Shy. I decided to do something a bit different. 😺
That part is very TRUE.! I am getting better at putting these together quicker. I already had a a growing List of the 40 American Male MotoChannels, I wanted to feature, so I worked to make them FLAGs (as I call them) I already had almost all the other FLAGs made from my past videos. This video was quick compared to my last video which took me 1-year. I started it on Sunday and put in almost 8hr days. I estimate it was about 40 hrs. I am not very good at editing & so I make a lotta mistakes and fixing them takes time. I see lots of Boo Boo's in the video of mine. The Flipping Analog Clock of Bike Models is an original concept of mine. (silly I know)
Nice video. Can I ask, did you consider the Yamaha MT-10? I've got to make this choice coming up, and both bikes look awesome. I DON'T need the side cases, so that evens the score a little. Seems the MT-10 is a bit more Premium, (especially the "SP" model), and probably a bit stronger/sportier than the GT. Any experience with the MT-10? Thanks
To pick one you just need to be honest with yourself about what kind of riding you want to do and what you will mainly use it for. They are both awesome bikes but they are pretty different. The Yamaha is fast agile and loves to wheelie it is more of a hooligan bike. It is more sport than touring and won't be as comfortable for longer rides. The Suzuki is sport touring it's also fast but longer wheelbase makes it less agile and less willing to wheelie. Bit more wind and weather protection from the fairing and screen makes it more comfortable and enjoyable on longer rides.
Thanks for that. I'm coming off a treasured, Sport-modded Bandit 1200 after some years, but I also own an FJR1300. So I'm looking for some "overlap" - I need an "overnight" Sport Tourer (wheelies? YES, please) to compliment the FJR Open Road Sport tourer. The MT-10 might be the one. Throw a rack on the back and a slightly taller shield and it should do nicely. Shame about that NOSE though...@@green_genie
Man they are a sweet bike, i threw a leg over one and i want it so bad but insurance far too high for me and the price is too high so ill get the vstrom 800 de they go for good deals if you find leftover stock
The V-Strom looks like a great bike and all the reviews have been very positive. I was considering that bike when I found the GSXS at a great price. I'm happy and I think you are making a good choice too.
You might want to check some other dealers. The dealer I bought from has a new red GT+ advertised for $13K. The don't add any mark-up so it will be tax and other normal fees. I wouldn't expect that to be another $4000. It's a great bike so I hope you can find one for a good deal.
