It was the song that got me hooked. But they have so many different styles. Pop. Funk. Rock. Acoustic. EDM. They make a beautiful potpourri of various decades, with their own spin.
the saxophone guy is kind of a part of the band but he's not an original member. he is popular with the fans and he's called John/Jon (idk how to spell it)
the saxophone player isn't TECHNICALLY a member of the 1975 cuz there's only four members, but i would say he's an honorary member for when they use the saxophone because a lot of their songs use the sax and he's always the one on the track, he tours with them every time they tour, and he's known all of them since their school days so he's an OG collaborator. So ya, technically The 1975 is just the drummer, the two guitarists (bass and lead), and the lead vocalist but the other two guys in the video (the other guitarist and the sax player) are honorary touring/live performance members of the band.
The twins he mentions are their backup dancers

The lead singers name is Matt healey and is very cool guy and his band mates are all best friends from school, they have pairs of great albums out . All there live gigs here in the uk are outstanding Matt and the guys are a brilliant live band.👍🏴

They wrote the song as teenagers, and then re-recorded it when they were like 21. They have been playing together since they were 14 year old kids.
Oh, and other favourites are "Ugh!", "Love me" and "Love it if we made it".
I came across them end of JAN 2021 and have listened to them, since, exclusively. Instant Fan. BTW, I am 47 and fangirling over the connection they made for me to the best of the last 4 decades.
