    I snagged one from an outlet too, same price range I was waiting for this watch for years and now got it less than half price. Love it❤

    My first real 'nice' watch was a Citizen Calibre 8700 with perpetual calender that was a gift from my girlfriend/now wife. Still have it after 10 years, still ticking away and keeping excellent time. One of the few Quartz pieces I still have in my collection that I still wear. Great video Chris!

    I love citizen, got me into this hobby 25 years ago. I thought I’d moved “upward” since but I keep gravitating back to buying citizens. Funny how we go full circles within the hobby. I’d almost be happy with just a couple promasters.

    I have had my Satellite Wave CC3000-89L for over a year. It uses the same F150 caliber, but has a silver bezel with city abbreviations, lumed indices, more lume on the hands and standard lugs. So, maybe more sporty and less dressy. I had thought about getting one of the Satellite Wave models with more complications (F900), but they were quite a bit more expensive and, in hindsight, the simpler dial has its own appeal.

    Hi,
    I am considering this watch. Can someone advise more details?
    With a 44mm case, what is the lug-to-lug?
    Does the case curve or is it completely flat?
    I have a 6,25in wrist. Will I be able to size the braclet to fit? I saw 5 links are non-removable

    • @WatchChris
      @WatchChris  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Lug with is tight I will measure and let you know however the case does not curve and it should fit a 6.25 wrist but I would say the watch would look large

      Hi Chris
      I meant the lug-to-lug height. Is it below 52mm? From tip to tip?

      Have you had the time to measure full length of the watch? Tip-to-tip?

    Since you are an exceptional collector so what do you think about Miyota movements? My opinion the citizen eco drive is a tremendous time keeper, even the very basic movements are better than the swiss general Rhonda quartz? But when it comes to automatic movements the swiss are far better than the Miyota automatics. Look forward for your valuable opinion. By the way this Citizen looks amazing.

      Imran Chowdhury I know I’m not Chris but I wanted to give my opinion. I think that the miyota 9015 is a good competitor to some Swiss calibers such as the sw200 in terms of beat rate etc. but the Swiss caliber is still made much better and lasts longer. Also most watchmakers can service an ETA or sellita for a very low price but for a miyota you would have to replace it. I won’t go into accuracy because the Swiss can run the same as the miyota in many cases but if it is a higher grade caliber it is regulated to be much more accurate than the miyotas which as to my knowledge remain unregulated by the manufacturer. I did a video on my Zelos with an nh35 and I have no problem with it being a Japanese movement but eventually it will need to be replaced which will be more of a pain than getting a service because you would have to source the movement instead of just bringing it in for repair. Just because I consider the Swiss to be of a much higher standard doesn’t mean I don’t respect Japanese watches however because many grand seiko auto calibers are equal to their Swiss counterparts or in some cases even better. The quality of any movement really depends on how much you are ready to spend on a brand.

    • @WatchChris
      @WatchChris  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The Swiss do make a superior movement to miyota weather it's ETA , selita, or or many of the ETA clones... However the miyota 9000 series is more cost effective than a 2824 ETA and has specs closer to the 2892. The 8000 series are not great to look at but again very cheap and simple to replace. I prefer the 9000 series when we are talking about inexpensive watches because it is thin and looks good again I would say better than the 2824... However for longevity I would always prefer a ETA movement... But they cost more...

    • @imranchowdhury4972

      @@WatchChris When we are talking watches $500-1000 then really I am not ready to have a $20 Miyota in that, this is absolutely a price oriented thought. Like I started for quartz watches I will not go anywhere other than Japan, preferably Citizen to Seiko. And if you compare automatic trust me if any watches use them they should always use solid case back because Miyotas are such ugly to look at. It might be accurate and for that I can pay $300 max for an automatic watch. But if you talk about longevity then Miyota can never beat an ETA. They are just rock solid.
