You know what I find funny? It's that no matter what kind of sci-fi media we consume, if a sci-fi story features robots, said story will almost always have a bulky red robot featured at some point, and Ultrakill is no exception. There is something timeless about the design of a bulky red robot that no matter how much it's used, we never get tired of it. Anyway Guttertanks are the spawns of Satan and I hate them for kicking my ass in 7-2.
@@genokugelCyberpunk 2077? Well they are not red but it does have quite some, if you count the anime then the Cyberskeleton even looks similar with its goofy cunkyness
If it helps, I have some tips: You can use the Freezeframe to freeze a Guttertank's rockets, and you can use the Whiplash to send the Guttertank's frozen rockets back at it. If they miss a punch, they fall over and take a *very* small amount of damage (yes, it can kill them), and can be parried. If you need health, you can parry landmines, just don't aim at the floor or you will lose some of the newly gained health.
It could just be a funny coincidence, but 7-4's title (...Like Antennas To Heaven) references Godspeed You! Black Emperor's album "Lift Your Skinny Fists, Like Antennas To Heaven" and the first song (Storm) has radio noises like a guttertank's near the ending. Though, knowing Hakita, maybe that's not a coincidence
Idk how to explain but the design of Guttertanks look more fragile than Guttermen (like Guttermen just look more tough I guess), but the fact that they can instantly destroy Guttermen with a single punch is awesome
I think I figured out why they look less durable than Gutterman: the bright red of the armor reminds me of plastic and thus appears less bulletproof than the thicker armor of the Guttermen
The "killing a gutterman with a single punch" really shows you that the data doesn't exaggerate saying that every new machine was made to specifically counter the previous one
What I find terrifying about the guttertank and gutterman is that they both have humans most likely in agony controlling it, while they have their blood slowly drained to power the machine. And the sounds of bullets and crap hitting the armor and echoing through the machinery would’ve just made them even more afraid.
The gutterman is an automaton, its just using someone as fuel in the coffin on their backs The guttertank however, it looks like its being piloted by someone, the railings on the top and the eye holes makes it seem like that's the case
I have the feeling that the human inside of this thing is still alive enough to pilot It, why? IT HAS EYE HOLES. WHY WOULD IT NEED EYE HOLES edit: also It's called a gutter TANK, like It's driven and shit
maybe the humans inside guttertanks (if there are any, not sure if the fresh blood problem the gutterman has is present in guttertanks) are actually willing and pilot it? perhaps guttertanks are more optimized than guttermen and take less blood, hence the pilot being capable of controlling it? the railing at the top of the guttertank certainly supports the idea of a pilot, because why would there be grip points if there isn't one
In my opinion - guttertanks are piloted, indeed, but there's another theory by me: when the guttertank dies, his head (body?) whth rocket launcher is the only thing that can't be destroyed; but what's more important, if you listen closely - it still makes the static noise, like his radio is disconnected, but still working The pilot is the only one who dies. Guttertank himself might be broken apart... But he's NOT DEAD. Probably... just waiting for the repairing team (or somebody like that) to reassemble and pilot change (I hope that you'll understand what I wanted to say, my english is still not that good, haha)
That may actually be it. I’m more inclined to believe that the pilot is hooked up to the machine (maybe permanently?) but can be replaced. This may also be more of a willing pilot as people said before, OR the camera (or other detection equipment) had to be set behind the slit in the armor because they haven’t made ballistic glass for it.
@@AngryProtoBoiI agree with your opinion, also the square shaped hole on top and metal bar on front middle looks like a way to get inside the guttertank
fun fact: There is a secret 2nd variant of the Guttertank called the "Nuttertank". This variant is being kept hidden for unknown (and probably good) reasons.
what I think he's saying: 0:03 looks like: "enemy off road" or "enemy is down" in the sense of destroyed or out of the way (defeated). 0:11 and 0:06 looks like: "oh no" or "this no!" as if the guttertank were an unmanned vehicle and the human who must be controlling it talks to himself if he ends up missing the punch.
There is text on one of it’s arm in German. It reads “Faust Panzer” which means “fast tank”. I think this is another clue that The Final War was WW1 escalated
actually "faust" translates to "fist", its also a joke on the Panzer Faust which translates to "tank fist" since its a thing that punches tanks, in the case of the Guttertank it is "Faust Panzer" because its a tank that punches things
