Hiking Wedgemount Lake in late October: a 7 hour journey

We hiked Wedgemount to get to Wedgemount Lake for a cold dip, in late October. Seven hours later... Did we get to do a quick cold dip? The Wedgemount Lake trail is considered a very difficult hike and is near Whistler, BC.
