Good morning everyone - thank you so much for your enthusiasm, we're incredibly happy for 'Pfeiffer', and will be forever grateful to Karl and his ASIBP team for giving him a safe place to be. Please consider making a donation to help with supporting 'Pfeiffer's' needs - here are a couple of options: - General donation: www.raptorshelter.org/donations.html - Rebuild the ASIBP's "Hawk House" GoFundMe page: ca.gofundme.com/f/hawk-house-rebuild Every donation will be gratefully received, so let's get behind these incredible folks! Chat soon! Jo
Hi Jo ,so glad to see the flood got you all fixed up and able to leave the drive way. I am very happy to here about Pfeifer, she really needs people like you and the great people there in Alberta. It must be a hard choice but you did the right thing.
Good afternoon Furfeatherandclaw; You've hit the nail right on the head - it _is_ a beautiful closure to the story of our time with 'Pfeiffer' - we are incredibly grateful to Karl and his staff for taking on the work of giving this poor little old-man a "soft place to fall" in the winter of his life. I hope you'll share the link to today's episode with your friends and colleagues in the Falconry community you're connected to through your social-media connections - we _really_ want folks to know about the ASIBP's work! If there's any possibility of you being able to make a modest donation toward 'Pfeiffer's' care, I know Karl would be so grateful for the support...they do such important work, and we'd love to help the ASIBP to build its community. 😀 Have a great day, Jo
Hi there Kiki; Glad to be back - more great material will be following in the coming days and weeks. 😊 Please share the link to today's episode with your Falconry and wildlife-loving communities through your social-media portals - we'd love for folks to know 'Pfeiffer' is safe! I'd also absolutely love it if you'd consider making a donation to the ASIBP to help with 'Pfeiffer's' care, and to support the wonderful efforts Karl and his team undertake everyday to restore birds-of-prey to the wild - they *really* are amazing people, and would be completely grateful for the recognition. Have a marvellous afternoon! Jo
Hi there Ashley; Great to be back - thank you I'm so glad you like the thumbnail image - we'll be offering "The Falconlady" swag with that colour option very soon (if you're curious, you can find "The Falconlady" and "Team Feathers" swag at our RedBubble stores - just follow the links next to our 'intro' video on the home page of my TH-cam channel). Please share today's episode with your friends and Falconry community - let's get the word out about 'Pfeiffer's' good fortune! 😉 Best, Jo
Hallo Marshall! I couldn't agree with you more - this chapter of our time with 'Pfeiffer' is without a doubt the most rewarding! Could I prevail on you to share the link to this episode with your friends and family? We'd _really_ love to get the word out about the ASIBP, so the more folks who hear about it, the better. 👍🏻 If its at all possible for you to make a modest donation toward 'Pfeiffer's' care, I'm absolutely certain Karl would be so grateful for the support...taking on an older bird-of-prey like our 'little old man' is a massive commitment, and we're all too aware they've done both 'Pfeiffer' and ourselves an incredible good turn. 😉 I hope Kathleen and yourself have a truly lovely day - chat soon! Best, Jo
Weird... Earlier today I thought to myself, "I haven't see a Falcon Lady video in a while." I double-checked to see that I was still subscribed and that I hadn't missed any videos. I started to wonder if everything was alright. After spending a hew hours completing some chores in the yard I sat down to check my TH-cam subscriptions and there I found this new video. 🤔😄👍 If you're going to take some time off again, please do us a favor and give us a heads-up. Anyway... That's certainly good news about Pfeiffer. Good job finding him a proper home, Joanne. 👍👍
Good afternoon StoneE4; So great to hear from you - I hope you'll share the link to the video with your community so we can help get the word out about the ASIBP. 😊 I really hadn't planned on taking any time off...broke two ribs, and had a concussion which shut me down for longer than I'd hoped - back at it now, with more episodes to come in fairly rapid succession over the next couple of weeks. Stay tuned! Jo
...PS... There is no such thing as "coincidence", (at least, not in the modern and appropriated interpretation of the word). We must've bumped into each other on the Quantum Field, so you had the _feeling_ you ought to take a look-see, and - ta-da! 😉 Jo
OUCH... I hope you've mended well. I was going to try to post something funny but that might be bad form dependent on how well your torso has healed. Take care, and take it easy if you're still recovering. We'll still be here whenever you're up to making new videos. _(Just give us a heads-up as to what's going on.)_
@@StoneE4 Yes - I _definitely_ do not recommend fractured ribs as a "bucket list" item...I'll be chatting about it a little bit in an upcoming #PostcardVideo. i did leave messages on the 'community' page, my friend...did my very best to keep everyone in the loop. 😊 Jo
Hey Jo! Karl is like me in many ways (e.g., my formal education is in physiology, used to work in a high risk residential children’s centre, etc etc.,) but I work primarily with dogs (as you know), but I’ve worked with your birds & a few horses over the years too. 😘👍
Hallo my friend! Yes - there was a level at which I was thinking about the similarities the two of you share whilst chatting with him in the interview. 😉 If you haven't all ready done so, I'd definitely encourage you to check out their website/Facebook page to learn more about the ASIBP - and certainly get in touch with him! I'm positive he'd enjoy comparing notes with a kindred spirit! ...Maybe the next time you're in Alberta, the whole family can join Karl and his team out at the centre for a couple/few days...? Hugs, Jo
Been missing you and your feathered friends Jo! Really glad to see you back at it! And boy am i ever glad to hear that Pfeiffer is going to have such an incredible home, and right here in my own province! On a side note, I won a shirt from one of your videos a few months back, but never recieved it..anyway I could buy one somewhere? Yes falconry was illegal here, now its very closely regulated. Im pleased Carl has experience and a passion for birds of prey. Welcome to beautiful Alberta Pfeiffer!
Hallo there Kristy; Great to hear from you - I hope you'll consider touching-base with Karl and his team over at the ASIBP, they'd love to have helpers with experience over there. Right! I think we had some difficulties figuring out where to send it since the company I use doesn't ship to Rural-route or PO Box addresses - please shoot me an email with a street address (workplace, friend or relative's house) where I can get that away to you. 😉 Chat soon! Jo
@@TheFalconLady thanks Jo! I'll email you that address! And I will definately be visiting with Karl and Pfeiffer and hopefully they can use an extra volunteer! Thank so much talk soon!
@@kristyPoyntz You're entirely welcome - I'll drop Karl a quick note to let him know you'll be in touch...I'm certain 'Pfeiffer' would love to see one of his fans in person! 😉 Jo
Hi there Rosana; Thank you for the great question, I'll do my best to bring you up to speed. I heard from Karl a couple of days ago, and 'Pfeiffer' is doing well. He _has_ dropped a bit of weight, but this is somewhat expected, given he's in a new environment with new people...there's going to be an adjustment period, but I'm quite optimistic he'll only improve in the coming weeks. I hope you'll consider making a donation to the ASIBP (Alberta Society for Injured Birds-of-Prey) - they're so dedicated, and they're such great people...I honestly can't think of a more deserving organization. 😊 Here's the link to their GoFundMe page which is looking for support to build a new flight-aviary/"Hawk-house": th-cam.com/video/WqKjYz2V1VU/w-d-xo.html Thanks again for the great question Rosana, and thank you for joining our community! What great news for Pfeiffer, and a wonderful new chapter for him! I have been wondering about his recovery, this information alone has made it worth the anticipation of your return! The last I heard the bridge to your property got washed away in a flood; I just now read the posts about what has kept you away...( Oh my god, Jo! As if 2020 wasn't bad enough )... I am sorry to hear about the long and painful journey that you've endured! I am so happy you are recovering! Welcome back, Jo! 💕🦅✨ p.s. was there ever an announcement for the art contest winners, or did I totally miss it?
Good evening Jacqueline; Truly lovely to hear from you - thank you so much for your support and patience as I worked through my...er..."experience" of finding out what fractured ribs feel like. For the record...its a happenstance I would've _preferred_ indefinitely postponed...you'd be amazed just how many _tiny_ things you use your rib-cage for every...single...day. There are going to be some video-updates coming in fast-and-furious fashion, including what's happening with my non-existent bridge, the "Team Feathers" logo-giveaway (nope - you didn't miss it), and more. 2020 has - _indeed_ - been a challenging year for everyone thus far...no doubt about it, and I'm definitely putting my thoughts on things improving for everyone going forward! 😬 So glad to have you back on the channel - please stay tuned!
