It is SO thought provoking, I hope you enjoy it! The narrator is so unlikeable but it is fascinating how she justifies her actions to herself.

Great review Jak. This sounds like a book that definitely will make readers think about the real world

I really liked this book - the pointed writing about the publishing industry, about racism (which I thought was also so well done in Babel, for sure), and relationships was so good. Give me a good snarky inside baseball book any day!

I am struggling to get through this book. I think I personally struggle with unlikable narrators, she is just annoying me to the point where I can't enjoy it lmao

Ooh that is a really good point! I think I typically agree with you - I need to root for the main character and want them to win. In Yellowface, I was just so fascinated by June’s rationalization for her actions and I was wondering if she would ever have a break through.

I can totally see where you're coming from. She is a very interesting character and she shows moments of humanity that pull you in. I think it's a bit of a me problem, I have accidentally read like 3 books in a row with frustrating protagonists and I am looking for a slightly easier ride right now tbh 😆

@@ellster127 reading unlikable / unreliable narrators needs to be done in moderation for sure!!
