In case you didn’t know you can slap cancel after any aerial in the air it doesn’t have to be during an auto cancel window. You can also do it out of a short hop airdodge.
This is actually a really cool technique. For some reason my jaw dropped when you hosed that he can edge cancel it. I think with proper use this can help out with DK's landing problems. Really Cool !

I remember Eric finding something similar and including it our Shadow Eye video (but using a buffering method with fair off of the Battlefield lower platform), but we assumed it was more of a gimmick than something actually useful. I found a Wario combo, being a Wario main for a couple months. 1.) It goes from a short jump to an immediate neutral-a and a fast-fall the moment you can possibly do so, so that you can attack the enemy with both the initial attack and the late one. (You have do this in the direction the enemy is to follow them.) 2.) You then go double-jump and spam the jump to foot-stool, make it so you short-jump there two. 3.) After doing that, fast-fall as quick as you can, try to follow the enemy movement, use the forward air late to cause them to inevitably get up, without being able to move in any direction. (What's this tech called again?) 4.) Repeat. This works until somewhere near 30% - 50%, works for most characters, very easy to perform once practiced, it can be difficult for some characters. This is not an infinite combo unfortunately.
You know the problem with tech is they put too much time and thought into them and they still sometimes lose to me and basic strategy. They lose out on adaptability.

Seems to me like this could have a big impact in the neutral on flat stages. If you condition them to shield because you space bairs often, you could approach with bair, then b reverse slap cancel to grab the shield that's probably coming, especially at ding dong percentages where they'll be playing more defensively anyway.
...or you could ignore the useless down b part and grab immediately after the aerial if they are sitting in shield for some reason after your spaced aerial.
dunno if it'd have to be a read or not, but I think AC bair gets messed up by shieldstun and they might react to the slap as an attack and shield? I mean, seems needlessly difficult and tomahawk grab is probs just as good but it's also sorta a microspacing tool with the b-reverse so hey. Perfect shield grab beats out AC bair grab if they time it right too, so I dunno. It's a mixup at best and at worst you screw up and get grabbed, lol.
I found a technique that I think you may like. Mewtwo has an inescapable Down-Throw -> Down-Tilt combo on Greninja only at 13-14%. Training mode won't consider it true, but it is inescapable. The best setups include: Forward-Air Dair Forward-Throw Confusion -> U-Tilt Fastfall Uair -> Pummel Other setups like Disable -> Up-Throw can work too. I think I understand why this is inescapable, despite not being true; When performing this combo, Mewtwo likely is able to hit Greninja after his hitstun expires, but before his landing animation finishes. Bonus: Mewtwo also has Full-Hop Last-Hit Nair combos at high percents (can combo into aerials and even Up-Smash), I believe both of these can help Mewtwo in tournaments. Enjoy!
This actually reminded me of something that happened in for glory awhile back as ganon. I landed on the ground and started his side b and then immediately tried to switch directions and side b the other way because my opponent rolled. And ganon looked like he started the original direction in the air but then immediately turned around into the grounded version. I couldn’t reproduce the effect, but that may be because I didn’t think to autocancel a move first. Perhaps someone else could test it and see if

I remember learning from esam that the Dreamland stage has a slope- even though the ground looks even, to facilitate the wind box from the tree, the programmers gave the ground a small slope- and it's possible to cancel Pikachu's up special by angling it horizontally across the ground in certain ways. Would that slope work for this technique?

DK really has an expansive moveset. I love how on the outer layer, he looks like a very bland character. But as soon as you try grabbing, your total options have expanded to unimaginable size. You can ding dong, and other cargo throw combos. Then, you discover his shieldbusters. Side B, and Down B are shieldbreakers. You can get shield breaks this way, which will allow you to expand your knowledge of good and bad punishes. Then, you discover his spikes. Fair, Dair, Side B, Down B, all spike. This gives you an expansive array of edge defending options. You can expand your knowledge of spikes and air dodge reads before expanding your character choice to another character so that you can expand the number of characters that you use. DK helps everyone expand their skill at the game. And I hope that as the game expands, more players discover Dk’s expansive combo game and kill potential before the meta expands too far to phase him out.
A slip cancel? Son, that be an edge cancel. We had a term for that before the game was out, let’s keep Smash Terms homogenized so it’s easy to follow the meta and commenting across all Smash Games.

I found a technique that I think you may like.
