+Chief Sininen My friend mained Falcon, I mained Samus, and he stopped being my friend after the 100th match I won were projectiles were used, but barely to keep him away. I never even kill with my B, in effort to not make him quit. He can do all these techniques in the videos Smash Corner puts out, but still can't beat my projectiles. He's salty.
This was a great video. But the real reason I decided to comment is because of people trying to compare sm4sh to melee. They are two very different games. Smash 4 is a game with a lower skill floor because its meta does not revolve around all these techs. you can still become a top ten player without techs like biduo or this new step dash. While melee's entire meta revolves around specific techs like wavedashes, L-cancels, and countless others. Although both games require a strong mental game as well a very tight fundamentals the games differ greatly in where your fundamentals come from. In melee your fundamentals are how consistently you can execute these techs and how precisely you can use them. For example you should be able to dash dance and cover lots of space with Falcon or cover less depending on your situation. In smash 4 as well as in melee you need to know your character really well but in smash 4 you are rely heavily on learning your opponent's habits. Your fundamentals in smash 4 are more about mixing up the options you have while limiting and predicting your opponent's. Melee also has this mental aspect but you rely on it much more in smash 4. A good example of this is a comparison of Zero and Void. Void is much more technical while Zero is much more fundamental. Zero was at one point undisputed champ because he could adapt so quickly and uncover your habits at the same time. Void has become a national threat because his tech skill is practically unrivaled, although he can adapt and read his opponent his approach is very different because he relies on tech skill as well, where Zero sticks more to adapting and reading although he does have a solid grasp of recent smash 4 tech. The only widely recognized player in Melee who doesn't use lots of tech skill is borp. borp is some kind of monster. In Melee you must first fully master all the tech skill your character has to offer before your mental game can start exponentially improving, while in smash 4 tech skill is there to improve how you use your mental game. Regardless I enjoy both games and play both. I love the scene. I just believe that all the elitism coming from some Melee players is ridiculous. It's as stupid as saying a tech like wavedashing or step dashing ruins the game.
The Game Monkey You couldnt be more right like this is the only not cancerous comment here the most of them are either Smash 4 Boys fighting with melee boys its so annoying also i respect the two games and i accept melee requires ton more skill than smash 4 but just because smash4 isnt as technical as melee ot doesnt make it a bad game right ?
The Game Monkey your first point was incorrect, sm4sh imo, is way harder, since it all revolves around mindgames, instead of true combos with huge hitstun, all melee has is movemente options.
Sean Pipatkhajonchai Indeed, neutral is even more deep and nuanced in melee, since there's so many options while in Smash 4 the lack of options to combo and move make the ones that do exist all the more important and fundamental, having to focus much more in what you have.
yea i was thinking how this could be applied to corrin as i find myself d-tilting a lot more frequently but i wonder if we could cancel it with the chainsaw/f-smash(which i guess would just make this pointless but meh)
why are people getting salty over smash 4 having tech?? jesus christ stop bitching about how much better your game is than some other game trying to make it a competition or some shit
+Cave Johnson says the one getting triggered over a fequently used word on the internet. Don't listen to stuipid shit like that or you won't get far in life.
Nah that's what perfect pivoting was at first, now a lot of players have implemented it into their game. At first it'll probably be Bayo and Meta knight mains that'll utilize this tech then most since its most effective with them.
I KNEW I could count on you to figure this out! When I uploaded that video on Bayonetta's sliding grab after her Nair, I was trying to figure out why it actually worked. You've done it, thank you!
Wow! Beautiful! Another skill I will not be using on Smash. Thankyou Smash Corner for showing us this Lol Hopefully competitive players will master this. Still waiting on the Bidou messiah to destroy the competitive scene.
Bidou isn't THAT good. Even I can consistently perfect pivot without it and the other tech it offers is specific, like the reason Esam uses it. I doubt there will ever be a top player that's a top player because of bidou. Good fundamentals are way more important
lol I swear this is the attitude of all sm4sh players, "(insert thing here) is too hard, I'll wait for an actually dedicated person to use it" if everyone has that attitude then evo will never be interesting until grand finals
+Wyatt Schifferdecker I've tried it with Greninja, and I don't think it goes too far. But I could be wrong since I'm struggling with crawling character's step dash. So we need chart to know for sure.
+Master of Grenjitsu I want to know too. I tried to do it myself, but I could not pull it off at max distance. I only got it once and I didn't do at max speed. I do, however think it's as good as Pikachu's, since I was somewhat able to pull it off using his up smash.
I'm not an expert at all, but I guess that bidou has no advantage here since stepdash needs you to tilt the stick just slightly which is an input you can't do with the right stick.
Literally eliminating the usage of smash stick, unless you have a super glide toss but regardless you can do that with AB smash, now you don't need smash stick during the usage of perfect pivots because this tech helps you extend your smash attacks :D , have fun mastering it , and excellently done M.SCorner , bravo
Note:Ryu can do multi of these because of his game origination , in which the shoryuken (true) has a shortcut which is just (tapping diagonally twice then an attack input on either A or B) but just tapping diagonally rapid his does small quick step dashes , Enjoy :]
+Naga itzu yeah, Shulk probably has the worst ground physics in game, so I don't see myself using this. 3DS is also absolute TRASH for performing techs that need ridges.
OH MY GOD! I've been practicing this for a couple months now though I never really quite knew how it was done, I always tried just by moving forward while tapping crouch and it worked a little bit. Happy to see a consistent way to do it has been found, great vid I'm amazed I came across it myself too! :o
Been trying to push knowledge on this tech for a looong time, but with limited resources, etc it's hard to get solid proof and people tend to not bother listening or trying themselves. I'm almost 100% sure people before me knew about this but absolutely no-one seemed to care when I tried to spread the word on places like Reddit or Smashboards. I'm just glad someone's finally put a video out there about this (-and did a better job looking into and explaining it than I ever could. lol).
I forget the name of it, but that's the one that you literally just walk in the other direction to where you're facing and get a short boost, right? If so, that's a totally different tech.
i played smash for 3ds on 2 3ds i broke 1 circle pad and both R buttons keep in mind they were both used and the first one for some reason had a small bite mark in it lol Edit: the bit mark was in the circle pad*
Oooo, found else about the step dash. Since the step dash can be continued of another step dash that is crouch, that means it can be initiated by using crouch instead of a slight step forward. It requires much less finesse and is more consistent to simply do double crouch step dashes for the boost than to do the walk forward into step dash. The easiest way to practice the timing is to do the initial step into crouch, then step into spot dodge. This will allow you do do a sliding spot dodge, and is useful since spot dodges are very responsive. This also allows for low distance step dashes into shield, grab, jump, etc. The fact that it can also be done out of a jump mean it can be done after a short hop (although, it will require the initial input too). This allows for crazy spacing mind games, especially for Meta Knight (who has amazing Perfect Pivots). The usual MK momentum boost trick can also be done out of run to shield, but it only works backwards. This tech allows MK to momentum boost out of shield in both directions.
For anyone saying this is like wavedashing it isn't really. Wavedash can be done out of shield or anything that can be cancelled with jump(shine). Wavedash can be various distances for the same character this seems about the same could be wrong though. Wavedash can be cancelled into anything after 10 frames. Wavedash can be performed to land on a platform while rising. Wavelands can move really far if done perfectly. Wavedash can ledge cancel to reduce lag. Wavedash also can have the momentum carried off the edge for some characters while doing certain moves or keep less by just going off the stage. (luigi's fireball is the main example) Wavedashing can be used for mixups/mindgames while this can be seen coming if you react fast enough and can't be used for mixing up directions. Wavedash can also help moonwalks go farther although unrelated. This tech seems nearly worthless and overall doesn't seem worth learning right now.
yeah, it seems like it is likely due to the negative stuff the melee scene (I feel I was one of the people who said negative stuff at one point, so apologies for that) has said about smash 4 in the past that it has trained smash 4 players to think that melee is the enemy and that smash 4 needs to prove itself to melee instead of doing another option, which would be stuff like disassociating itself with melee, or stop comparing itself to melee. It also does not help that the smash 4 scene in this comment section seem to be intent on comparing step dashing to wavedashing, despite step dashing being almost completely different in its applications, which brings melee players into the comment section to essentially correct them, no offense intended, the option the smash 4 scene has chosen as of now essentially would be alot easier on smash 4s part if some people were actually educated on what basic melee techs purposes are. In the same vein as my previous solution, melee players need to be educated that even if they do not like the game, it does not mean that you have to spoil someone elses experience, you can say you do not enjoy the game for its competitive aspect without devolving into saying 'DURR IS BAD GAME' or 'TRASH 4'. The 'melee players' that normally say these things are usually people who have some serious trust issues with nintendo OR are the people who just got into the game and are at the point where they are jealous of other smash games success. Tl;dr: be respectful of each others communities, and dont say uneducated stuff expecting not to be corrected.
I don't think it's stupid to compare them as long as you know that they're not supposed to be similar or you know not to consider this a "replacement" for wavedashing. They don't work the same way. Step dashing is more complicated to do and has less applications.
+FaC I play both games, performing most melee tech is easy in training mode, but you need it to combo and for neutral, so you really have to master them. Not to mention stuff like waveshining or ledgedashes. Sm4sh tech is more situational.
Hey can you make a list of all of the lengths of the characters step dashes? since i dont main either meta knight or bayonetta i want to see where my character's step dash stands
For anyone saying step dashing is just like wave dashing, one of the biggest aspects of wave dashing was something absent from most fighting games that isn't in smash: the ability to move backward while still facing your opponent. Yes, this is a neat tech, but it fails to emulate the wave dash as it fails to be a spacing tool.
+lllSMIRKlll There are truckloads of shitters in this comment section saying that this is wavedashing, how is this supposed to be recognizable as a joke
CP Adagio Because of the way I'm saying it. You either have a lack of a sense of humor, you haven't been on the internet very long, or you're trying to not recognize the joke
For anyone wondering about possible applications.... There may be characters that will benefit more from this than they would with a perfect pivot for the purposes of jab resetting, tilting platforms, and catching landings due to the distance. Not only that, but this can be combined with a glide toss to gain some ridiculous momentum.
I bet this is exactly what people were saying about melee wavedashing when it was first discovered. Now, people wavedash without thinking about it.. Just keep practicing it until it becomes muscle memory.
I'll give it a shot. Tr4sh techs are usually impossible to pull off and or not worth trying. This looks game changing, could maybe bring a few characters up on teir lists, like Corrin with his/her down tilt, Mega Man with his sweet spot up tilt, and such. This new tech has definitely reminded us to push the tr4sh scene further.
it's still pretty lame for a wave dash, but combined with other movement options, I can see this being pretty useful (for only certain characters sadly)
if you want some more sliding stuff do this- go to training mode and pick lucina or marth. pick any flat stage. once on stage run forward then turn around and hold the joystick in that direction for a moment the release it. you should notice lucina/marth slide forward like alot.
We have now reached Melee-level tech complexity in Sm4sh. I hope Smash 5 isn't coming any time soon so this scene can continue to blossom. I love this game.
Hey guys, so I was trying to lab this and I found something. If you hold crouch on a corner angle, move up to the side, then back down, it will initiate the stepdash. It is like the continued stepdash, but doesnt require a stepdash.
Because i suck and i dont have the skill or time to perfect these maneuvers... i watch these videos to help me avoid these moves when people can actually pull it off lol. but i love these videos. Amazing work man!!
Man if only MSC could use these himself for tournaments. Just look at how detailed he goes into these tutorials... If he worked as hard going into tournaments as he did for these videos, he could be one of the best players in the world. But learning pressure and mind games are a whole 'nother level for him, I feel.
Bayonetta with improved Neutral, a slide grab, and landing lag removed? Yep, back to the top. Also: (announcer voice) *"Brawl Metaknight joins the battle!"*
Bayonetta crouch sliding brings me life.
you're cancer
+Chris Green well he is bald lol
you're awesome
I thought u were a poketuber now Kappa
Imagine if Pink Fresh or Saj implement it in their play.
did he just walk up slowly and step dash!?
And Step dash my boy
it is now fixed
Nice Work
Do you got stuggle with that or not?
nope :P
Metaknight S tier return confirmed
Yay.
+Yeah Toast Shy-Guy mk was S, they were A at best. or, mk was God tier and they were S, either way. Only biches use spam.
+JW Money found the guy who cant play against zoners
HOW DARE SOMEONE USE PROJECTILES, A WEAPON IN ONE'S MOVESET, TO WIN A FIGHTING GAME? SHAME ON THEM!

One small step for Meta...
One giant dash for Knight-kind
LOL
wow
That Xenoblade Chronicles X intro though
You did well young one, you may rest easy from now on.
Time to play smash 4
You're my hero.
I love you
inb4 MySmashCorner was actually hiding the fact that Luigi travels twice the distance than Meta Knight
#ReturnoftheWack
Luigi is w4ck confirmed?
Check if that fireball keeps momentum off ledge. Then make a montage vid.
This is hype!
You Damn right
Step dash into nine. The Gimz always winz.
I hope to see people dashing and pivoting like it's melee
Did you guys know how to do it on 3DS and with pro controller?
I'm gonna guess you use the left stick... like every other controller. -_-
W A V E D A S H
this fits really well with your profile pic
+fred gagnon (ThunderPuncher) It really doesn't
+fred gagnon (ThunderPuncher) no it doesnt
+fred gagnon (ThunderPuncher) i see it
+Is This The Krusty Krab Your reply works with your profile pic lol
Revolutionary! I can't wait to see Ryu step dash a shoruken to KO and be rightfully claimed top teir.
O-oh
Dude that sounds awesome
Everyone already thinks he's top 5-10
He's already the best character in the game, just the hardest
Only crazy people don't think Ryu is top tier already...
Over a year later and none of this stuff has been utilized yet
I swear Smash 4 has so much potentisl that was never used

This tech looks like it'll help Corrin a lot; his dtilt will be even more dangerous.
same with bayo since her d tilt range got nerfed. also he said she had one of the longest
Her d-tilt**
Kappa.
yea i was thinking how this could be applied to corrin as i find myself d-tilting a lot more frequently but i wonder if we could cancel it with the chainsaw/f-smash(which i guess would just make this pointless but meh)
Mario's down tilt is good also starts off combos
+Jarrett Vlake it wouldn't be pointless, because f-smashing from across the stage might be possible and utterly ridiculous.
one small step for man, one giant step dash for meta knight
LMAO
Welp. All casuals have no chance now. GG, guys.
Hey it's you! :)
pk's next stream is gonna be him trying out that tech
Casuals never had a chance- lol
With these upgrades you never stood a chance
Spain and Russia banned you...
why are people getting salty over smash 4 having tech??
jesus christ stop bitching about how much better your game is than some other game
trying to make it a competition or some shit
and hating on melee isnt helping either
+XxSUPRxX exactly
+Cave Johnson I'm not reffering to homosexuals dumbo that's wrong
Then you're not helping the scene either. Use better wording.
+Cave Johnson says the one getting triggered over a fequently used word on the internet. Don't listen to stuipid shit like that or you won't get far in life.
It's a shame that probably no one will apply this and use it in an actual match
Nah that's what perfect pivoting was at first, now a lot of players have implemented it into their game. At first it'll probably be Bayo and Meta knight mains that'll utilize this tech then most since its most effective with them.
+Sebastian Manrique I hope so. but it might be a good year until this is used well, and it might get patched before then
+olixleon Patch?? nah they wouldn't patch this and I'm pretty sure tjat we're done with patches
+olixleon yeah it'll probably be a while before this is used consistently
give it a few days ;)
Haha Right Smash 4 has no techs
Lol
All smash games have tech. It's not about how much tech a game has, it's about how practical that tech is.
I'll be laughing the moment this gets patched out.
Pls no
go back to melee
sees first seconds of the vid, already exited! HOLY COW
me: WTF
If you dislike smash tech so much to leave as soon as you see it, then why are you watching the video? :^)
+Jojothejman i left cuz i saw he had a discord lol. but my question wont be answered because its fludded atm :c
I think he meant to type "Excited"
+Kuro Kagami I agree that seems to be the grammar of the situat
There's no wave dash in Tr4sh- I stand corrected
you call it Tr4sh yet you make content on it. seems legit
+The Nintenpro It was paroding Sm4sh haters.
+The Nintenpro maybe, just maybe, his comment was parody
The Nintenpro No its supposed to be a joke on melee fanbois
Tr4sh is just a meme
Request for a montage of every character's step dash distances.
I feel like some amsa clone that uses a low tier and uses these will all kick our ass
Bidou isn't THAT good. Even I can consistently perfect pivot without it and the other tech it offers is specific, like the reason Esam uses it. I doubt there will ever be a top player that's a top player because of bidou. Good fundamentals are way more important
Francisco Rodriguez You won't see most top players using it because they're used to their default controls.
lol I swear this is the attitude of all sm4sh players, "(insert thing here) is too hard, I'll wait for an actually dedicated person to use it" if everyone has that attitude then evo will never be interesting until grand finals
You are aware that ESAM uses bidou right?
If possible could you do a chat detailing each characters distance? Or at least could you tell how bad/good the one's for Greninja and Luigi are?
*chart
Yeah I think this could he game changing for Greninja if it's long enough. Literally all of his grounded moves except jab and f smash slide.
+Wyatt Schifferdecker I've tried it with Greninja, and I don't think it goes too far. But I could be wrong since I'm struggling with crawling character's step dash. So we need chart to know for sure.
Leave that to smash highlights
+Master of Grenjitsu I want to know too. I tried to do it myself, but I could not pull it off at max distance. I only got it once and I didn't do at max speed. I do, however think it's as good as Pikachu's, since I was somewhat able to pull it off using his up smash.
So um.. stepdash bidou?
Mobility options out of more mobility options Kreygasm
mobility mobility mobility kreygasm
this thread holy shit
I already feel bad enough at this game
I'm not an expert at all, but I guess that bidou has no advantage here since stepdash needs you to tilt the stick just slightly which is an input you can't do with the right stick.

Thanks for all your hard work and quality videos!
What? The metagame is evolving!
(Maybe in a few months ESAM will be the only top player who uses this technique!)
+King Crack Baby doesn't matter
I feel like void would be the type of player to use this
+Ken Berndt hes more technical so he's more likely to use it. pretty simple :/
It's funny people still think Esam is a top player lol
In b4 esam loses in pools
this feels really damn awkward to pull off. Even harder on 3DS, but at least applicable
wow its been 2 minutes and i pulled one off. on 1x speed without legitimately practicing
Maybe it's character specific like dash dancing.
+Naga itzu yeah, Shulk probably has the worst ground physics in game, so I don't see myself using this. 3DS is also absolute TRASH for performing techs that need ridges.
+Ryan Phan but what about SABDJCUSHSKSGAKFKSG
+swaglevelsohigh still working on that. i need more than 4% damage if i am doing that
Nintendo please don't remove this
Sakurai is always watching...
Like how they removed DACUS, feelsbadman.
+Stocke what's that?
another smash 4 tech?
(play melee)
+Scarfed! yes. they patched that out before.
How can they patch this out? They would prob have to rework the whole walking system which seems a bit much
Smash for is about 2 years old and its amazing how theres still thing to discover
Thanks for the guide and awesome find!
OH MY GOD! I've been practicing this for a couple months now though I never really quite knew how it was done, I always tried just by moving forward while tapping crouch and it worked a little bit. Happy to see a consistent way to do it has been found, great vid I'm amazed I came across it myself too! :o
Oh great now Meta Knight is broken again.
Broken? After 30 minutes of hitting the opponent, maybe you can get a KO.
Good point.
only if you play peach or Rosa
only if you play peach or Rosa
News just came out saying it will be patched soon! (:
Thank god
the new wavedash (sorta)
Smash 4 has two wavedashes lol step dash and perfect pivots
+Ken Berndt and sliding crouch pivots
until its patched out
true
+MistaTwoJeffreyTwenty Yaay And all harder to pull off and not as practical as an actual wavedash lmao
Looking in the comments for other people who think this is hard to validate these feelings
lmao
I love you guys! You're truly purist of the game, always optimizing options!
I like his chill voice as he just casually reveals a brand new potentially meta changing tech
when ur main has the best stepdash
lucky )':
I know that feel bro ;)
Yah! irk :)
You just know they are gonna patch this and nerf greninja
Better nerf outdated memes!
*buff
Well, this changes meta knight's meta game.
Eeyyyyyyy
This changes A LOT! Great stuff as always!
I'm just glad someone's finally put a video out there about this (-and did a better job looking into and explaining it than I ever could. lol).
This has been around along time, I found it when looking for a movement tech with Roy, if you turned around and took one step you can slide
I forget the name of it, but that's the one that you literally just walk in the other direction to where you're facing and get a short boost, right? If so, that's a totally different tech.
+LotadAlittle is that Lute in your profile picture?
+LotadAlittle Extended dash dancing?
Shane Boyd hell yeah it is
Isaiah no, I just remembered the name - it's pulse walking (or something like that). It's a roy exclusive tech that's exactly how I explained it.
3DS joystick... I'll break it one day!
i played smash for 3ds on 2 3ds i broke 1 circle pad and both R buttons keep in mind they were both used and the first one for some reason had a small bite mark in it lol Edit: the bit mark was in the circle pad*
I just got a better durable Joystick, made out of plastic.
How tf does everyone break their joysticks? Mine has never broken, and I've been playing Sm4sh since the Demo came out in America.
Awesome-y Guy
i don't know exactly i have also been playing sense the demo came out.
*How to break your 3DS joystick in just an hour:* step dashing :P
Why is it that sm4sh doesn't have wavedashing, it just has a lot of wavedash like techs?
Because Soccereye said so.
it would be so much better if there was just regular fucking wavedash
+EGXPT project m for smash wii u
thats why i play pm

Step Dash + Perfect Pivot = 30XX
The faster your character is, the easier it is to preform. I was playing as Sonic and he slid pretty far.
Donny I assume Ganondorf's is going to be shit?
I literally only came for your voice...
then I came to your voice.
That's hot
CajBaj the White You have no idea
MSC fetish!
***** RIGHT? IT'S SO...SMOOTH.
And thus, this comment section resorts to Sm4sh vs Melee. Boy, I love the smash scene....
yeah, it seems like it is likely due to the negative stuff the melee scene (I feel I was one of the people who said negative stuff at one point, so apologies for that) has said about smash 4 in the past that it has trained smash 4 players to think that melee is the enemy and that smash 4 needs to prove itself to melee instead of doing another option, which would be stuff like disassociating itself with melee, or stop comparing itself to melee.
TheTrashWizard Couldn't have said it better myself
I don't think it's stupid to compare them as long as you know that they're not supposed to be similar or you know not to consider this a "replacement" for wavedashing. They don't work the same way. Step dashing is more complicated to do and has less applications.
This feels like an extensive of that U-Turn tech I discovered a long time ago, explains why it works.
Wavedashing
Also, why didn't you measure the distances of each characters step dash?
When Sm4sh players say Melee tech is easy compared to this and only compare wavedashing.
you realize these are probably casuals who have little experience in either game right?
Swolified Smash
Probably.
This is pretty cool. It's like a new version of a wavedash, to a certain extent.
Also, sliding into the opponents DMs.
+KFSmash hahaha 😂😂😂
Tfw sm4sh is more technical than melee :eyes:
the only tech tbh
melee still better 👀
+Scarfed! Nice meme
Scarfed! bidouuu
Scarfed! perfect pivooots
+EpicAO | #TeamPopplio you right
so either sm4sh becomes faster paced and more entertaining or it gets patched... I know where my money lies
This isn't that great of tech, it isn't going to change much.
+Tristan Dalton I know but every bit of tech adds up
+Tristan Dalton I know but every bit of tech adds up and the game does get faster
Michael Boullon I agree.
Another tech that I'll be too slow at...
Same here, at least .3.
I love these advanced technique videos. They are very well explained and broken down. Keep it up!
Awesome. Idk how MySmashCorner finds these techniques. Props to you good sir
It's a shame that not a single top player ever used this.
Goddammit Sakurai just put wavedashing in already
This comment is too underrated. Deserves more likes
no u
WAVEDASHING IS BACK BOIS
Yeah
It's not lol wave dashing is way more useful
CP Adagio Well since you can't take a joke, stepdash is the closest thing we'll get to wavedashing in smash 4.
It's amazing how you always find more tech to go over. Hopefully we won't run out very soon
For anyone wondering about possible applications.... There may be characters that will benefit more from this than they would with a perfect pivot for the purposes of jab resetting, tilting platforms, and catching landings due to the distance.
Not only that, but this can be combined with a glide toss to gain some ridiculous momentum.
If anyone finds an easier way to do this let me know =_=
Me
(3DS)
I bet this is exactly what people were saying about melee wavedashing when it was first discovered. Now, people wavedash without thinking about it.. Just keep practicing it until it becomes muscle memory.
Yeah i do a video to do it in another ways like for one who used Procontroller an 3DS and now its easy as f*ck
Yeah harde to perfom correctly
I've seen nobody use this, actually no one
RIP Pro Controller users.
That Generic I'm a Pro user. ;(
*_I Use Gamepad_*
I'll give it a shot. Tr4sh techs are usually impossible to pull off and or not worth trying. This looks game changing, could maybe bring a few characters up on teir lists, like Corrin with his/her down tilt, Mega Man with his sweet spot up tilt, and such.
This new tech has definitely reminded us to push the tr4sh scene further.
That is if it doesn't turn out like the other useless techs other than pp. And yes, I just replied to myself.....not bad at all.
I don't think megamans up tilt would really work since it cancels momentum. But speed shulk stepdash forward smash is AMAZING
+Falcondorf
Mega Man can already slide over the whole stage with that super glide toss...
Perfect pivots been being used, mainly by foxes and shieks so far however. Soon to be pikachu with esam swapping control setups
I have never been this happy about a new tech. Now we really almost have a wave dash. Going to practice this all day now.
Will this get Meta Knight at a relatively high position in the tier list?
No lol
+Kengen r.i.p. Meta Mains then
+KaytchJam one word... leo
no. the only reason he was so he is because he could kill at 10% easily
Could be (:
Wavedash confirmed
Damn that profil pictore is dope
it's still pretty lame for a wave dash, but combined with other movement options, I can see this being pretty useful (for only certain characters sadly)
I do slide into slide into pervfect pivot
You know the deal after that
+ILikeSpheres i hope the next smash is faster
deluded scrub
With every new tech found, smash four fanboys just shove it in melee's face. Why can't the community just get along?
cus people are arseholes lmao
+LotadAlittle It sucks man
Thank you, MSC, for putting out the highest quality content of smash 4.
This is absolutely incredible!!! Smash 4 just got so much better!
who the hell dislikes these?
Sad people who think smash 4 sucks
bots
Melee
Nintendo
looks like smash 4 is just as technical as melee now.
I dunno if I can do dis tech, I'm a filthy gamepad user lmao
Ok thanks guys! I guess it's just me lol 😅
Keep practicing!
still better than wii remotes
If you wand to get better, use the Pro Controller. It's the easiest to transition to considering you're a Gamepad user.
How the FUCK did wavedashing get into smash 4.
Wavedashing is more useful and easier
CP Adagio
nobody cares
if you want some more sliding stuff do this- go to training mode and pick lucina or marth. pick any flat stage. once on stage run forward then turn around and hold the joystick in that direction for a moment the release it. you should notice lucina/marth slide forward like alot.
"My Smash Corner", META breaker since day one. God damn man, you're a beast keep up the great work o/
It's wavedashing it's fuckign wavedashing
No.
It's wavedashing it's fuckign wavedashing
No its not
Can't do it in place, can't do it backwards. Can't step-land.
It's wavedashing it's fuckign wavedashing
We have now reached Melee-level tech complexity in Sm4sh. I hope Smash 5 isn't coming any time soon so this scene can continue to blossom. I love this game.
Hey guys, so I was trying to lab this and I found something. If you hold crouch on a corner angle, move up to the side, then back down, it will initiate the stepdash. It is like the continued stepdash, but doesnt require a stepdash.
Seeing Fox crouch sliding into down smash makes me wanna get back into Smash 4 and give this tech a chance.
Because i suck and i dont have the skill or time to perfect these maneuvers... i watch these videos to help me avoid these moves when people can actually pull it off lol. but i love these videos. Amazing work man!!
Enormously stoked to see how and if this is going to be implemented into the current meta game. I really hope it is as revolutionary as i hope it is!
Perfect pivoting + step dash = smash 4 wavedash xD
Man if only MSC could use these himself for tournaments. Just look at how detailed he goes into these tutorials... If he worked as hard going into tournaments as he did for these videos, he could be one of the best players in the world. But learning pressure and mind games are a whole 'nother level for him, I feel.
another great video. quick to the point, informative, and HYPE HYPE HYPE
That's one small step for a Knight, and one giant leap for the Meta.
One small step for Sm4sh, One giant leap for.......Meta knight?
So much practicing to do. Can't wait to see how this can change the game.
Bayonetta with improved Neutral, a slide grab, and landing lag removed? Yep, back to the top.
Also: (announcer voice)
*"Brawl Metaknight joins the battle!"*
Boi, sliding grab out of shield as robi sounds wonderful
Do y'all think Sakurai gets mad at us when people find tech like this in smash 4
this seems good for Lucina mains, as they could probably do up-tilt. Since Marth's up-tilt does not retain movement
*slide momentum
You guys discovered the most wonderful tech of all time since wave dash.... Omg
So it's basically the Smash 4 equivalent of a moon walk, except you don't go backwards.
Roy's our boy kinda have a long step. it's awesome.
Oh, cool. This is that thing Esam noticed when bayonetta was first released. I'm glad we finally know what it really is.
