Snapchat has joined the short-form video social media squad with their newest feature called Spotlight. Spotlight is essentially Snapchat’s version of TikTok and IG Reels where creators can make 60 second videos that show up in a feed within the app. To incentivize creators, Snapchat is paying top viewed videos made by creators 16 and older from a fund of 1 million dollars everyday through the end of 2020. In this tutorial, we show you how to get the spotlight feature and make Spotlights so you can start earning money. Spotlight has some useful editing features: you can record multi-segment videos, trim clips, add music, text, stickers, and more. However, users can’t combine videos and images to make Spotlights in the app, so we’ll show how you can still do this using a free online editor called Kapwing.
How to make a Spotlight on Snapchat:
1. Record a video 60 seconds or less using Timeline, or select one video from your camera roll
2. Add text, doodles, music, stickers, or other visual elements
3. Click “Send to”
4. Select “Spotlight”, add a hashtag, and post!

My video spotlights are Never selected, what am I doing wrong? The videos I try to submit are usually of my pets, my garden or my truck & I make sure there is no music in the background.

When I upload from my camera roll, the video gets split up into multiple vids. I thought it could be under 60 seconds.
Hmm that doesn't happen when I upload a 60 second video. How long is the video you're uploading?
mine doesnt post the whole video it cuts it and doesn’t even post the others either
@@Kapwing The video is usually around 30 to 40 seconds and it always gets split up into multiple parts. Do you have iPhone?

If you still can not see the button for spotlight (like in my case) after trying both of these methods, well it is because you are in a country that spotlight is not working or available yet. there are currently only 13 countries that spotlight work in.

When I post a spotlight that is more than 10 seconds it get published but in the wrong order, for example when I post a 40 seconds spotlight it publish the 1st 10 seconds then the 3rd 10 seconds then the 2nd 10 seconds so the video doesn't look right. What can I do?

Hey Grace,lately I've been using Kapwing as a video editor and I'm obsessed with it.However I'm facing a little problem I hope You'll help me. My problem is when I upload 1 content on top of another one I need to stretch it for example when I upload a green screen on top of my video, I try to stretch it. When I try to stretch it, it zooms instead of stretching,although it gets bigger but still I want the whole not the zoomed. Plz try to solve it if you can,your help is appreciated.

@@joshgreenwood6113 I think I’ve figured it. You can’t post with watermarks so no tiktok. Also actually try and film on snap and use music, gifs, text etc. Also copyrighted music is another they won’t accepted

As far as I'm aware, it can't be done with a photo, however, you can upload your photo on Kapwing and make it last 2 seconds long so that it becomes a "video" that you can share.

Yeah they have a limited library, if you want to add custom music you could upload your video to Kapwing then add it there and upload to Snapchat Spotlight after
