Because of my exposure while in the Navy and having worked with 21 nations of people, many of whom were Musliim, and because of current trends both pro and anti, I chose Islam. I spoke in an open and frank manner with aquaintences and coworkers, went to Prayer a few times, spoke with the local Imam. No one ever tried to convert me, I had numerous though provoking conversations. I was provided with a translated Quran, for free... interesting being raised Catholic while growing up in a predominantly Jewish neighborhood, never had a Bible or Torah offered for free. Unfortunatly for all religious folks, I read their books. Respectfully referenced as Books 1,2,& 3. Those books are grotesquely misrepresented to suite agendas and have been the root of most evil perpetrated by humanity in modern recorded history. From repeated contradictions to taking timelines completely out of context with relation to the author of any given contribution, as well as repeated modifications to suit a given assertion or hide a newly percieved wrong. Generally, my final comment to many who choose to be Muslim... per Mohamad, the word was not to be corrupted and there is only one, within a few decades Islam was divided, since that time it has proven to be as invalid, based on its own units of measure, as those it's applied to the others of the book... further, you clearly indicate, regardless the means, Islam can be the only one, since your book condones "by any means" you have opted into a faith which, by it's own declairation, is an enemy to all who are not Muslim. I'm from Indonesia. I've been looking for the 2013 Pew Research poll about the implementation of sharia law particularly in my country to no avail. I don't know about other countries, but in Indonesia the two largest Islamic organisations are Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) with 94 million members and Muhammadiyah with 50 million members. Both condemn ISIS and forbid the spread of religion through any kind of force, it's not allowed by the book. NU and Muhammadiyah advocates the "Middle Way" which is a moderation between textual and liberal interpretation of Koran. Because they realize that people now are not living in conditions like they used to (e.g. war) such is explained in the Koran, and many things exist now that didn't exist back then. In fact, Muhammadiyah mixes with secular ideology, in an attempt to modernise the thoughts of people, to avoid superstition, instead gain intellectual enlightenment while maintaining its roots. They are both also AGAINST Wahabism and they constitute the majority of Moslems in Indonesia which is NOT AN ISLAMIC COUNTRY. We are a secular republic which majority of world Moslems. Our country is founded on The Five Principles and UUD 1945 Preamble which accommodate for different religions. Not Sharia. Moslems here help each other regardless of religious differences, the government BANNED khilafah groups that would like to establish Islamic Caliphate in Indonesia and change our constitution with Sharia. No way. So, I think it's important to be critical of information we get and not to take for granted knowledge such that is shared by the lady in the video. When you look into it deeper, you may see how historically Arabs and Persians or even Indonesians digest the religion that is called Islam not exactly the same with each other because the subconscious and open-mindedness of these societies vary. The living conditions and cultures vary as well. I personally would say that Islam itself is still in the making, continually so, with the unfoldment and advancement of Humanity. I understand there are dogmas everywhere, and it's important for us to not fall into the same dogmatic perspectives when dissecting any kind of belief systems. Indeed some of our brothers and sisters are like students whose 'lagging behind' in the class, hence we have to patiently care for them because we are all on the same boat. To be a representative of love, you must understand that love in its most primal form is connectivity. Someone who is a representative of connectivity will not abuse people they are connected to. My grandmother was Jewish and of Jewish religion. She was from the east but she didn't admit she was Jew. We knew because my dad was always pointing out family members from that side and would say, those are Jewish noses. She is lieing. One day when I was in Jr. High grandma opened up to me. @@imascrew6218 I studied World Religions, more than a dozen in total. I was required to pick one and do extra research. Because of my exposure while in the Navy and having worked with 21 nations of people, many of whom were Musliim, and because of current trends both pro and anti, I chose Islam.
I spoke in an open and frank manner with aquaintences and coworkers, went to Prayer a few times, spoke with the local Imam. No one ever tried to convert me, I had numerous though provoking conversations. I was provided with a translated Quran, for free... interesting being raised Catholic while growing up in a predominantly Jewish neighborhood, never had a Bible or Torah offered for free.
Unfortunatly for all religious folks, I read their books. Respectfully referenced as Books 1,2,& 3. Those books are grotesquely misrepresented to suite agendas and have been the root of most evil perpetrated by humanity in modern recorded history. From repeated contradictions to taking timelines completely out of context with relation to the author of any given contribution, as well as repeated modifications to suit a given assertion or hide a newly percieved wrong.
Generally, my final comment to many who choose to be Muslim... per Mohamad, the word was not to be corrupted and there is only one, within a few decades Islam was divided, since that time it has proven to be as invalid, based on its own units of measure, as those it's applied to the others of the book... further, you clearly indicate, regardless the means, Islam can be the only one, since your book condones "by any means" you have opted into a faith which, by it's own declairation, is an enemy to all who are not Muslim.

I'm from Indonesia. I've been looking for the 2013 Pew Research poll about the implementation of sharia law particularly in my country to no avail. I don't know about other countries, but in Indonesia the two largest Islamic organisations are Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) with 94 million members and Muhammadiyah with 50 million members. Both condemn ISIS and forbid the spread of religion through any kind of force, it's not allowed by the book.
NU and Muhammadiyah advocates the "Middle Way" which is a moderation between textual and liberal interpretation of Koran. Because they realize that people now are not living in conditions like they used to (e.g. war) such is explained in the Koran, and many things exist now that didn't exist back then.
In fact, Muhammadiyah mixes with secular ideology, in an attempt to modernise the thoughts of people, to avoid superstition, instead gain intellectual enlightenment while maintaining its roots. They are both also AGAINST Wahabism and they constitute the majority of Moslems in Indonesia which is NOT AN ISLAMIC COUNTRY. We are a secular republic which majority of world Moslems. Our country is founded on The Five Principles and UUD 1945 Preamble which accommodate for different religions. Not Sharia.
Moslems here help each other regardless of religious differences, the government BANNED khilafah groups that would like to establish Islamic Caliphate in Indonesia and change our constitution with Sharia. No way.
So, I think it's important to be critical of information we get and not to take for granted knowledge such that is shared by the lady in the video. When you look into it deeper, you may see how historically Arabs and Persians or even Indonesians digest the religion that is called Islam not exactly the same with each other because the subconscious and open-mindedness of these societies vary. The living conditions and cultures vary as well.
I personally would say that Islam itself is still in the making, continually so, with the unfoldment and advancement of Humanity. I understand there are dogmas everywhere, and it's important for us to not fall into the same dogmatic perspectives when dissecting any kind of belief systems. Indeed some of our brothers and sisters are like students whose 'lagging behind' in the class, hence we have to patiently care for them because we are all on the same boat. This is a little that I've learnt from Islam as it is taught in Indonesia. We all can change for the better.

I agree. I've been awake on this since 9/11. One of the biggest things that frustrates me is that as soon as you put islam under any scrutiny in civil conversation with some people, you're automatically written off as a bigot or a racist! And they use that accusation as a smoke screen to allow islamic problems into our country. I condemn the ideology, it's not about race at all! Australia is a diverse nation and I welcome that, I however reject an ideology that refuses to assimilate and embrace the culture of a nation that has taken them in to become a part of it.

My grandmother was Jewish and of Jewish religion. She was from the east but she didn't admit she was Jew. We knew because my dad was always pointing out family members from that side and would say, those are Jewish noses. She is lieing. One day when I was in Jr. High grandma opened up to me. She told that she had to leave the east because she was Jewish. There was too much fighting and fleeing from one country to another. I couldn't really comperhind what she was saying. Too many questions went through my head. I had never heard of any of these countries she talked about and didn't understand why they were fighting. I hadn't heard of Islam before. I stopped her to say I was very confused. She asked don't you learn this stuff in history. I said no. We only learn American history. I have never heard of these eastern counties except the philistines, because of bible stories. She said she was telling me because she tought I would be the only one to understand. She stopped her story. I didn't want her to stop, but explain. I felt I was missing something. I know she also lived in Ukraine and Germany. She had to flee from there too and ended up in America and married my grandfather.
Now, I know some about Islam and eastern countries, I wish I could hear her story now.
