Loved this so very much and your enthusiasm I wish for you AND all of us that there will be years unnumbered to be able to view the beautiful Spirit bears!
She's gorgeous and seems like a great mama. Now that would be an interesting one to interview. Find out her tips for raising cubs. ♡ I'm happy to leave them to their homes while trying to protect them.
So I was searching documentaries about the great bear rainforest and I discovered your channel. I can tell you it's the best thing I've ever done. I'm a spanish girl studying biology and I'm obsessed with the Pacific North West because I love nature and I want to move there. I want to specialize in mammals and, to be honest, you are now my role model. My dream is to have a job like yours and to photograph amazing animals, and to make people aware about wildlife conservation. I hope one day I'll be living my dream! Thank you for creating this channel and for all the work you do John!
Thank you Maria, that's fantastic to hear that you've enjoyed the channel so much. Thanks for your feedback! And let me know if you ever have any questions.
Never been to Canada or left Australia, why does this country and its creatures fill me with delight ?? why does the look of a Spirit Bear fill me with emotion and touch my very being , can only dream of seeing one in the wild thank you John , your images impart and show the power and wonder and dynamic energy of these special creatures, cheers
Magical. What a fantastic experience to find that same female with cubs. My trip to the Great Bear Rainforest a couple of years ago was awe inspiring and I can't wait to go back someday.
Hey John ...thanks for sharing the wonderful videos man...this is the closest I'll ever get to see some of these iconic animals...I live in Toronto n always dream of being a wildlife photographer n would love to come on a trip with u some day in the woods to see these animals...thanks again gud
Excellent Video...thank you for sharing...it is amazing. Than you for all your efforts in protecting wildlife and the forests...you are amazing and the work you are doing is so important ...!! You are a talented photographer and hope one day I can do one of your workshops. Your passion for wildlife is evident in your work.
Amazing video...I have truly enjoyed all of your videos but this one may have been the best yet. The photographs you included were also spectacular. Your passion and concern for the wildlife is made clear through both your videos and photographs. Thank you for posting this.Incidentally, I should point out that this trip is now definitely on my bucket list.
What a very lovely bear she is named so true to how she looks. I am always so disgusted when big money wants more with no regard for these beautiful areas and their inhabitants. May they all stay safe until things will change to include their absolute safety 😢
I love the ideas behind this video... but personally I feel the human exposure to these bears (even though it is for the RIGHT reasons) is still excessive and could be dangerous for the bears. I personally say "observe from a distance and leave them be." Being accustomed to the presence of people while living in BC could actually make them more prone to being hunted and killed. Just my opinion :) Keep up the good work!
Cool video! I've got a queston: how can you get so close to the bears without beeing recognised? And what if a bear would attack you? How could you protect yourself?
I was out looking for Moose to take pics of one morning in NW Wyoming. I was sitting in one of my favorite spots for viewing them, hoping one would walk into the open from the treeline or the Willows. I have been to that spot enough to know that there was something along the treeline that didn't belong there. I couldn't figure out what it was; I started my PU, and it was in that second that I realized that it was a Grizzly bear. It looked up, saw me and ran parallel to the treeline before I could get a shot with my camera. It was a white Grizz. I thought I was seeing things. Does this happen?
How are they unprotected if there are hunting regulations? Every species needs to be managed for the benefit of the species itself. Too many bears hurts the bears first and foremost. There is a Goldilocks level (no pun intended) where they can have prosperous lives without experiencing the huge fluctuations between food decimation, starvation, and mass die offs.
You're absolutely right, they are a mutation, but of the American Black Bear. There has been some research suggesting their light coloration could help with catching salmon, as they can be harder to see.
Spirit Bear, protect them, for they are Sacred to our INDIGENOUS PEOPLE AND ANCESTORS...and thus other cultures Need to do the same, Great Spirit gave all of us Mother Earth, our Native Brother's and Sister's were given the task to protect. They are trying hard.....we need a healthy balance of using our natural resources, and all humans in our country use them, but, converting over will take time.....Native Elderly keep working for your youth; its a hard battle but in the end you will stand tall and you will not fall! Wehlalen: Thanks to you all!
The Spirit Bear is #1 on my bucket list.
Bucket list for what...?
@@jay_sun2088 Look up the phrase: it's self-contained.
Seeing this years later and so grateful for your continuing work to save their land, John.
the goal is meeting not killing
Oh she is a beauty!!! Thank you for sharing John..hope one day will be part of that small team you go out in the wild with.
Cheers
Hope so, too, Alex, thanks.
Great video, John. You set an excellent example for what environmental stewardship through our photography should be.
Thank you Dave.

What a very lovely bear she is named so true to how she looks.
I am always so disgusted when big money wants more with no regard for these beautiful areas and their inhabitants. May they all

Fantastic video, John! Video and images were amazing. Hope you find time to share your post processing methodology someday.
Someday Mac, someday, haha!
Incredible! If you don't mind me asking, what kind of camera do you use to capture these amazing shots? Thank you!
Amazing
This is Nat Geo quality video making!! in fact even better!!

Wonderful video,
Seeing an all-white animal of prophecy is very special indeed!

Thank you. X
Cool video! I've got a queston: how can you get so close to the bears without beeing recognised? And what if a bear would attack you? How could you protect yourself?
Tobias Gmeiner I think he uses a crazy lense to keep a respectful distance.
I would like to know which camera you have been using for these photography?
Who do you go through for these tours??
beautiful thank you
The good news since you filmed this, is that hunting bears for trophies (?!) is now ILLEGAL in British Columbia.
Are there any other spirit bears for her to mate with? And it’s she in danger from hunters or does her condition protect her?
how do you feel about using an extender?
There's that tune again John, at the beginning, is that a song or a piece of stock music?
It's a piece of stock music that my production team bought.
It's stock music, but my guy can't remember where he purchased it from!
She's so cute

For sure, Catherine, there is actually an area is BC that is known for it's white/white-ish grizzlies.
thats a polar bear
What is all the song track they used?
Is it dangerous to catch for wild animal?
Thank you🐻

There is a Goldilocks level (no pun intended) where they can have prosperous lives without experiencing the huge fluctuations between food decimation, starvation, and mass die offs.
Indigenous people managed the environment for thousands of years before European colonization
They are just mutations of brown bears.
You're absolutely right, they are a mutation, but of the American Black Bear. There has been some research suggesting their light coloration could help with catching salmon, as they can be harder to see.
I wanna be a bear too.
music the minute 0:00?
How do we book this trip and well be coming from the UK. How much is It? Do you have an email address to contact for info
Thanks

So basically the difference between an albino black bear and a spirit bear is the genotype? The phenotype is the same?
Yes, I believe so Simone. An albino black bear and spirit bear act and behave the same way.
+John E. Marriott thank you.
These bears have unlimited food and space and no human interference in their habitat. They just peacefully coexist and go about bear life.
Pandas lost cousin. Haha
Enter the panda
Surely these bears should be protected .Money is not the be all and end all of life .
albino bear , or pinto bear , lets go back to spiritual way spirit bear . just because are on canada , hajha
Canada has to put in place laws immediately to stop the killing off of these bears ,and to protect Its waters ways from anything related to oil etc
He sounds like Jordan Peterson.
keep this secret to yourself

It was an enjoyable video about wildlife, until the political crap got tossed in.
