Today is all about eating and not running (and sharing some new items and thoughts with you). I hope you enjoyed this video as I personally think it was about time for me to share my diet on rest days too. Remember this is not what I eat on every, single rest day but just to show you an example on a random day. My main focus is to get three solid meals and snacks in between as well as drinking enough water to stay hydrated. As I’m posting this video, the marathon is coming up in exactly x days. It’s been the most intense week of running and the training has hit it’s highest point. I am feeling more ready than ever and I honestly just want it to be tomorrow. Then, it’ll be time to continue the running adventures in Japan ;)
please dont forget to fuel during your long runs! tips from a sports nutritionist & runner myself! aim for 30-60g of carbs per hour (from gels, sports drink, gummies, dates, raisins). proper fuel will give you more energy, a better recovery and keep you away from injuries in the long term!
@@Blinkers2007GameDev yes powerade has 35g of carbs + electrolytes! gels are more convenient though and you can get to those 50-60ish grams of carbs easily :) many people say they don't set well in the stomach but that's called "train the gut" and eventually you will become more tolerable to digesting those carbs during your runs!
Never said I didn't! If I run longer distances, I fuel for them :) This video is all about what I eat on a rest day but I've previously shared what I eat before & after my runs.
Tell me your favourite meals and recipes! I’d love to get some inspiration xx Btw here’s a link to my 30k run I completed on Friday the 29th of march instagram.com/reel/C5Il0PLMFUu/?igsh=MTh1NzNuN3RxcHBrOA==
You are coming to Japan ☺️🎉 You should try to eat “ Shake Teishoku “ It’s good for athletes like you cause those are rich in nutrition :) I’m waiting for your next video 😊
One option to consider if you don't like carrying your phone in your hand is the Path Projects running shorts that have 3 pockets on the rear with one of them being large enough for your phone. The model is the Sykes, I've been using these for about 4 years and I love them. I also have the Salomon vest but whenever possible, I try not to wear anything on my back. Good luck with your training.
Hi Katharina, just found your channel lately and I really fell in love with it! Thanks for inspiring me :) Oh and I really need to go to this running store, looks cool!
Thank you Katharina for your video. Always watching your videos while having dinner and I just love to listen to your little chit-chats in between 🫶🏻 One of my fav recipes recently is Shakshuka, so easy and delicious. I think you would love it. And btw I am super excited for you to go back to Japan very soon!
Hi Katharina, I think you are so inspirational! Thank you for being you. Running is such a magical thing that it makes life much better ☺For breakfast I love to recommend some overnight oats (oats, soy milk, chia seeds and a little bit of honey) which you serve with some banana, dried cocos slices and some delicious jam of berries on the top. It's so yummy!
Oh the bathroom thing, glad that you talking about that. Honestly for me it´s why i can not run any race, marathons etc. Makes me sad, because i am so scared of that:(
Don't be! As mentioned, it's a common thing and really something just to accept. What goes in must come out and running really wakes up your digestion system :')
great video ! love it!! thank you for all the things you share with us. I would love to see your runs on strava so you can have an extra support there !! it’s really easy and it’s connected with the nike app, so whenever you track a run its automatically uploaded on strava and there you can share pictures, hide the map or do wherever you want ! PD: I can’t wait to see your videos of Japan!!! I would love to come back! I’m sure you and your boyfriend are going to have the best time there ! 🫶🏽
Always a "thumbs up " for you. Today you are killing me talking about great looking food. I am on a 7 day water only fast. As always, a wonderful podcast.
sorry to say that but i think that's not beneficial for your physical or mental health either way :( pls also don't comment something like that under a video that supports girls in eating disorder recovery and truly honouring ones cravings that can lead to awful circles of comparison for some people

Hello Katharina. Before you got the vest where did you take the gels and water for the long runs?
Hey! I didn't :') I could keep some gels in my pocket but if I wanted water I'd need to stop in a coffee shop and ask for it.
That intro! :D
