Thank you for the nice video of one of the greatest nations on earth! Their culture is unique and gets a lot of people interested. I like westerns and native actors in them. With great respect from the biggest country!!!
the feathers we earn in our lifetime..they mean different things for each feather we earn.We can earn them for protecting women and children,or for killing an enemy in battle. We can also earn them for bravery,or earn them by doing quests like a manhood ceremony or by doing our vision quest. Many different tribes have different ways you can earn your feathers. We cherish these with our lives. The Chief to ever have the most feathers was Sitting Bull
The colored pictures were from the movie"Last of the Dogmen". I noticed Steve Reevis. One of my favorite actors. They are all Incredible people. Strong, Intelligent, proud. I am so thankful to know even a little bit of their culture. Thank you so much.
Beautiful song, powerful images. I wish we all had enough peace and love in our hearts to love one another and let each other live how they choose without the need to dominate...
Beautiful music and images reminds me of our ancestors in aotearoa.native new Zealanders .keep your culture alive be strong.peace love and light to everyone.
An excellent showing of the old ways, with respect given to both the Tsitsistas & Sutaio, the two clans that converged to make what we now know as the Cheyenne, The Northern & Southern Nations both being shown throughout. Our Southern Nations sharing life with the Arapaho Nation. Perfect music to accompany the images. Nia'ish (Thank you) for sharing. Éémoosó nanóse'hame - Silent Cougar
hello Friend, I am Little Brave Man of the Lakota people, your allies and friends. and I am proud to see a man of the Cheyenne People here my heart goes out to you and I and all my people the Lakota's wish to thank our Cheyenne friends and Arapaho friends for Joining us in many fights against the Long knives You are brave men and I am proud to call you Kola that is friend in Lakota. May Maheyo the Great One up above always be with you friend all our relations
I haven't watched this video in a while, BUT it is so beautiful and grabs at my heart. Steve Reevis was an amazing actor and human being. This movie is EXCELLENT.
I know little about my heritage...I know that my fathers father came to the US from Norway and married a woman who was Cheyenne/Norwegian in South Dakota. He told me that the Cheyenne were known as the Desert Flower because of how beautiful they were.
Beautiful video and music . My grandmother told me her grandmother was Cheyenne. We have no proof . But I'm sure if I ever find it she will probably be a Cherokee Princess innit....
My grandfather is Chief Two Moons. He is my 7th great grandfather on my mom's mother's side. What is it that Native America's, they are the purest of all there is too of beauty. My husband is decent of Sitting Bull and Cherokee, fly high on the wind the real Americans
How can you say Polynesians are better. I am a member of the great Northern Cheyenne Nation. We never compare anyone in such a manner. That is very disrespectful and shows what kind of person you are. Now one of my best friends is Polynesian and he was a really great person and would never joke about anything like that. I believe that we are all the same but just have different names. That is one thing I was taught when I was very young and am still teaching it to my children today.
Thank you Hellen for all the wonderfull Video's about Native American people/ I specilly liked The bautifull chayenne tribe;Comanche warrior,Baffulo warrior,Baffulo blanco and Anenu !!! They are great'and you are great Ariel Feldman Israel
Bless the shinning ones. Bless the elders. Many were ascended masters incarnate on earth. Their life, a sacred expression of wholeness, and oneness with the earth and all life and the heavens. The sacred hoop. Remembering me remembering you remembering me. Bless us all
wow this is wonderful, the music and the pics just go very well together. could you be kind enough to tell what this song is and the movie you got the clip from?? thank you for the video, it is just beautiful. i am so fascinated by the indian people and their culture, and there is so much to learn.
You know the word for Cheyenne was "The Beautiful People" in most languages, even the first whites called us by that name. We were the last tribe to be put on the reservation. Yes Custer was once part of the tribe and was warned if he betrayed us he would die.
Ahhh.....beautiful! And it also makes me sad. I remind myself that the native indians are rising again(all over north and south america) and it's about time. There is much to offer. After all, we are all children of god, goddess.
The TV show ...."Cheyenne" was always great to watch...I remember as a child in Rhodesia in the 50's watching it... the natural living off the land... killing humanely and thanking the dead animal for it's life... how we all should be living... Then watched in later years... "Dances with Wolves" ... captured their various tribe cultures perfectly... then saw "Black Hawk - White Eagle" (Sam Waterston) riveting stuff...
The Cheyenne were / are amongst the most handsome, proud, noble bands of Plains Indians. Read the literature as to how much Maj. Edward Wynkoop was astoundedly impressed by them & their sprituality ("I felt that I was in the presence of superior beings") when he had to escort them a lengthy distance over the prairie to a 'treaty' meeting, late 1860s. He became their reservation agent to protect their interests, so enraptured was he by The People. Custer betrayed his word to them & died for it.
Hi Colin Yes, The Cheyenne were are Goodlooking Peope!, i heard that Custer had a son by a Cheyenne woman! the child had blond hair and later died!. Bet he didn't tell his "beloved Libby" that!.
@storytellerfoto this can be many things and mean diferent things to different tribes, Many feathers have important ceremonial and religious importance Decorated feathers from particular birds are sometimes attached to sacred tobacco pipes or used in altar displays during ceremonies. Decorated feathers may be used as smudge feathers, The Eagle is a messenger to the Creator When one receives an Eagle Feather that person is being acknowledged with gratitude, with love, and with ultimate respect
A brave and noble people who have been treated like all the other tribes so badly by this government for hundreds of years, a beautiful people of honor and courage, I could only hope that the people of this country could have the integrity and honesty of the native Americans we would be a better country for it. I was the only kid on my block who wanted to be the Indians instead of the cowboys,I will always read about them and and talk to people to tell them about their history and how they were treated
I don’t know what it is but I will always believe I’m a part of the Native American tribe called Cheyenne tribe. I just have felt it in my bones for years something is telling me that. I feel it
@ohorok2 i forgot to also say i dont find all pictures on the net as i bought over 3000 pictures of Native Americans, but most do not have which tribe they are from so i usualy double check online so i dont have people coming to me saying thats not a lakota or shoshone, but i did notice afterwards i let sittingbull slip in.
I am so pleased to see African Americans making their way into top political posts in the US. But not as delighted as I would be to see a native American become President! I am British by the way.
I don’t know my ancestry for sure, but I would be proud to have the blood of this intelligent and handsome people running through my veins.
Same here..I know 48%..but the 52% has such a call....all I listen to is Native American music..nothing else move my spirit in such a way

The First drawing is by Remington, and this warrior is a Lakota, you can tell because the Lakota tied up their pony's tails while on the war trail.

I guess the Plains Horse Culture didn't last very long, yet these Tribal Nations will be forever associated with their horses.
