this spoke to me on such a deep level. the way we need to slow down, get to know ourselves, and how hard is it to actually do that, to prioritize that, especially at such a young age, when the pressure on us is so strong, not only from the people around us, but from ourselves too. thank you for talking about this, really provides a lot of comfort for me, since im struggling with this also. lots of love
I love the sincerity and intentionality with which you speak. The little pauses within your sentences show how much you think about what you are trying to convey, and how carefully you choose your words - it's clear how you are a writer. I never comment on stuff but your video and the talk at the end were so beautiful! Instantly subscribed :)
I just subscribed to your channel, and I just have to say how comforting and relatable you are!!! Your videos literally feel like a warm hug🥹 As a 20 y/o teenager, I also feel so lost and conflicted with myself and what im meant to be doing with my life… I feel like im always behind and like I was supposed to do things the way everyone my age was doing them and that I’ve missed out, or that I should be successful by now. The only thing I know, is that I want to move back to Europe and continue my journey there, so who knows! Perhaps that’s where my purpose is:) I genuinely hope I will get to a place where I allow myself to not know what to do and not judge myself for it🩷 And just trust in the universe that this is exactly where you’re meant to be, everything will fall into place
You're still so young, you've still so many experiences you'll have and WANT to have. There's no timeline, there's no rush at all. Just let yourself live your emotions and what you're going through without putting yourself such urgency, there's no need
10:11 A lot of what you're expressing in that monologue is an influence of the American culture. Even though Canada is not as hardcore as the USA (it's a more European-like country in many regards, but still very American), I think you'll appreciate how in Europe the mentality is more humanistic and less ultra-competitive and high-achiever oriented (even the concepts of "high achiever" itself, like "valedictorians", Ivy Leagues, etc. are not a thing in Europe). Also very interesting you had these thoughts in the middle of winter, also coinciding with a significant date like your 20th. I was writing this comment initially to ask you how were you dealing with the long winters in Maastricht alone far from home and family etc. as a Canadian but I think the video explains a lot already. Kudos on your style by the way, very nice channel and stylistic videos!
A really interesting thought!! I think it also varies between countries and families as my friends across europe/north america vary alot on this spectrum, but in general I do agree that I'm sure the north american culture has a big impact on instilling the drive to achieve. Thank you for the comment!
Hi Ariel, I recently discover your videos and i'm I love them. I moved to Maastricht a couple months ago (I'm from Spain) and I'm discovering it yet, so your videos are perfect for me and to improve my English! 🤍
