    Hey John,
    You dovetail the end cap due to the pressure created from the vise on that end of the bench. The dovetail shape resists that pressure, and the joint tightens when the vice is in use (at least, as far as I understand). Hope I’ve explained this clearly.

    Is it possible for you to upload a video where you go trough the steps of the clean up of your shop? I dont know why but i'm kind of interested in seeing you clean up your shop because I ask myself how long you do that :)

    I love it when people show their mistakes and explain how they fixed it. Means your a real human. And as a long time wood worker I love seeing tip and tricks the tape for the transferring marks was a new one for me, gonna use that in the future. When I built my Roubo split top bench I put in traditional square dog holes, it is the one thing I regret about my build. Really wish I had done round dog holes as almost all modern do hole products are for round holes. Oh well ya win some ya lose some. Another great build. Thanks for doing what ya do bro.

    that is the purdiest bench ive ever seen, the exposed gears in the vice and the black frame are beautiful. Love the traditional clamping points too. Simplicity is cool

    Dude, just came across you today going down the rabbit hole of TH-cam, ive literally got hooked on your stuff, your comment about the British guy saying your too loud, dude with the stuff you make you be as loud as you like, I'm a carpenter who loves bespoke building and love that you show your builds with warts and all during the process, I know your pain on a few where I can see the hours you've put in only to screw up and start again.

    I'm also British however, I prefer watching American woodworkers because they have more energy and better shops. Watching some English woodworkers is less exciting than watching paint dry. Keep up the good work - and be energetic :)

    As a US Marine and part time woodworker I really appreciate your love for the military and woodworking. Any advice for putting a router table on the side of a table saw. I recently bought an old craftsman flex drive saw and i'm looking to put a router table on one side

      I thank you for your service! The flag hangs to support hero’s like you! As far as the table saw wing, you can mount it like any router table top. Get a plate and route it in. I would buy a router table plan from someone to see how it works !

    The first thing I built when I got into woodworking was build my workbench. I agree, that should be your first project. I had to move, and my real estate agent got it, so it went to a good home, but I do miss it. So when I get another shop( A two car garage ) I will build a new one. Awesome bench, yes I am jealous.

    I only hope to learn a fraction of your skills. One thing I learned with the
    Ryoba ( I think thats what it called) is to watch the reflection on the blade, it will give you a great level.

    Idk if someone else has put it yet but you do breadboards so that anymoisture in the air doesnt go into the endgrain of the main table and cause warping, splits, shakes, cups, bends etc etc it also just looks hells pretty
