This makes me very nostalgic for the 80's lineup of Tangerine Dream, but it also fills me with joy that you're able to capture the essence and amalgamate a heartfelt tribute of such perfection. The masses need an artist like you right now.
Dolphin Dance, one of my all time TD favourites, and man, you've nailed this TD classic perfectly, absolute spot on ambience, base arp feed sequence just so good, once again many many thanks.
State Azure, I only recently found your music. I haven't really been in to Tangerine Dream, but from what I've sen and heard from your cover's, they're worth a listen, but your videos are great to watch. Thanks for giving me so much pleasure. You have a real talent!! Do please do more and don't stop. It's a YES from me!! :)
incredible, I loved it, excellent version!! how the different sounds of those synths come together, and that guitar that sounds deadly on top of a very good base, congratulations!! and greetings from Buenos Aires, Argentina!!
Such attention to detail when replicating the songs you do. I honestly would not be able to tell the difference between the original and your version. Absolutely gobsmacked at your abilities.
I'd give my eye teeth to be able to do what you're doing. What could be better than playing great instruments, and putting together something that sounds as great as this!! Just wish I'd had the money, the space and the time to learn to play and do what you do in my own studio! Jealous, yes, but not envious. What could be better than playing around doing something that makes you so happy and giving so much to others. I take my hat off to you. Brilliant, just brilliant!!! Just wish I'd done something like this and hadn't wasted so much time!! All the best to you!!
It's never too late, I also wasted a lot of time and wish I had done it sooner. I started getting into hardware only a little over 2 years ago, everything before that is made with software which I still really like doing, and much cheaper!
@@stateazure Well I'm going to buy a keyboard in the next few months. Can you recommend something which would be good for a beginner but also one which I could play around with? Looking at what you're doing and all the cables looks very complicated, but still would interest me very much.
@@Peergint67 Are you after a plain MIDI keyboard for controlling software/other synths, or a keyboard with built in sounds? If the former, then I would start with an Arturia Keystep, but you might hate the tiny keys. If the latter, well I'm not sure, all my keyboards are quite expensive and not really suited to beginners. That said, I think the Korg Minilogue is a pretty amazing synthesiser and it's not crazy expensive. With just one of those and a decent looper pedal, you could make very deep and interesting ambient textures. Later you could add effects pedals if you wanted to. That's how I would begin anyway, in fact I'd even still like a Korg Minilogue, preferably the XD version.
Thanks for sharing! I just found that you had a whole playlist of TD covers that you did. Very faithful to the originals...and IMHO a little better than the originals, I like the slightly slower tempo, the softer beats, and the smoother sound.
the Paramount theater in Denver was under water the night Edgar Chris and some other guy showed up ........ The first five t.d. albums in a box ,and this album newly released , and the trip to Denver for THE SHOW!!!!!! LAMAR colorado sure be stinky.................... dolphins do not smell , but cows lots , ugh!!! Cheers Edgar, i'll be there!one day ,all who read this will be there too. yahoo!!!!
Nice 👍🏻 love it. Would love to see a Doctor Mix style video showing how you put these tracks together. All the different tracks and how you choose the sounds.
Mr Azure...you've gone and done it again. It's a brave thing to cover a track like this and make it your own yet keep the die-hards (like me!) happy! Underwater Sunlight was one of the few 80s TD albums which I actually liked - and still do. I never listen to Tangram or any of those, but Underwater Sunlight still makes me feel warm and cozy. Great job, as always.
Thanks, Andrew. I think it's my favourite from that era of their sound too. I always wanted to cover their Song of the Whale (both parts), maybe one day.
@@stateazure State, pls do Part 2. And Alchemy of the Heart (at least the first and second section) from Tyger. BTW, assuming you've heard it, what did you think of the rework of Horizon Pt2 on the Recurring Dreams release? (Apologies Andrew, didn't intend to hijack - and I agree - Underwater Sunlight kind of capped off their 80's and 90's era for me. Have enjoyed some of the Quantum Years stuff though, original and reworks)
@@fieryphoenix8428 I'm not aware of those ones Fiery, to be honest I stopped following TD way, way back in the maybe early 90s, I can't quite remember now
@@stateazure Recurring Dreams was the latest release this year - reworking some TD tracks (minus Edgar of course). It did reinvigorate my interest - I loved the rework of Horizon Pt2 (compare it to the live version in the Poland 1984 concert - which is still awesome) - it's the start for me - the heavily modulated digital synth stabs - that's what it was meant to sound like. Worth checking out the live 'Sessions' releases too - some magic in there.
You are the best, your disc Dreams is amazing, join to Tangerine Dream, talks to Torsten and Bianca. Please, in your video Spiral you used Midi to connect Deluge to Arp 2600 ?
Thank you! I've no interested in joining a group, even TD :) Love their music, but I also love doing my own solo/studio stuff. I think the Deluge was connected to 2600 via MIDI, yes...it was a long time ago, but I think so.
This song has a great feel to it. It's kinda different from your usual music, but in a good way. More of a driving type of song. Loved it. Awesome job bro.
Tangerine Dream.
There is.
No.
Substitute.
Yeah there is......"State Azure".😁
Have to admit: True. But, this is very good!
Wow, You've put your stamp on a fresh sounding Dolphin Dance
Yeah, this is quite different from the original. Good tribute! I'm enjoying it a lot.
I can't stop listening to this amazing song! Absolutely love it! Thank you for creating this version!
After hearing this, all I can I say is Happy Father's Day to me!...
Infinite Thanks for your gift State Azure.
0:45 I was impressed at the sound from the Waldorf Quantum. Sounds fairly close to the principal synth lead on Wish You Were Here.
This makes me very nostalgic for the 80's lineup of Tangerine Dream, but it also fills me with joy that you're able to capture the essence and amalgamate a heartfelt tribute of such perfection. The masses need an artist like you right now.
Thanks so much!
Fantastic man, such a great sound. You have done it again!! Great job
I see so many visions hearing this tune . just not dolphins , funny little creatures. Super tune , mr State .
Gosh I haven't listened to 'Underwater Sunlight' in almost 40 yrs. thanks so much for this excellent version!
Thank you! Such a great album. I hope to do the Song of the Whale tracks eventually.
Simply wonderful. Thanks for keeping the Dream alive.
Thanks for sharing. Brings back memories. In this one, you really nailed down the TD style and flavor.
Dolphin Dance, one of my all time TD favourites, and man, you've nailed this TD classic perfectly, absolute spot on ambience, base arp feed sequence just so good, once again many many thanks.
that is one convincing electric guitar patch on the P12. kudos as always.
Thanks! It's not the P12 providing the guitar sound, it's actually Omnisphere, I'm using the P12 for MIDI.
Another natural sounding track....spot on....I'm still getting high on on "Love on a train"....
Listening to the those sweet guitar riffs coming out of your synth . . . very nice.
One of my favourite tracks by TD.
You did it justice Mr State 5*.
My new favorite "on repeat" song now! I love it

Wonderful music and amazing sound. Beautiful video !
Thanks for the awesome music and incredible discography deal on Bandcamp.
On video 0:28 the dolphin that pulled out made such a gorgeous pirouette is the soul of Edgar Froese! 🙏
Спасибо за прекрасный кавер!
You take TD covers to new levels of elegance and sophistication and add something to the originals every time - keep up the fantastic work!
Truly, wonderfully, superb. Enough said. Oh, and of course, thanks for doing this.
Thanks, Andrew!
Wondrous music. Elicits an unique, complex emotion.
I'm really enjoying your stuff. Really awesome 👌 to listen while doing my paintings in the studio. Looking forward to the downloads.
Wow - amazing take on a classic. Love it.
Thanks, Eric. Glad you approve!
You should consider doing some of Spencer Nilsen's work from Ecco: Tides of Time.

State Azure...un grande musicista, Covers assolutamente perfetti, da TD a Vangelis fino Blade Runner Style... grande! 👍❤️
Love it! That keyboard sound around the 3 min mark after guitar sound, reminded me of a track on Pete Bardens album Seen One Earth. Super great!
Nice to see Pete Bardens mentioned. SEEN ONE EARTH is a great listen.

I love this piece so much I never want it to end

Nostalgic! as much as I heard it the first time many years ago. Remarkable composition that stays in my mind forever, like Beethoven 9.
very uplifting this is nice.....
Very nice!
very nice
Class ! thank you !!!
Really great job, sounds like the original.
Sublime
Amazing 😍
My gawd, seriously, the guitar was perfect…
How did ya get those Dolphins to swim like that?? LOL
(NICE ”Guitar Patch” BTW)

You need to do the TD from the risky business movie. Awesome as always dude
I've done them.
