Village Filipinas "Borrow" Guavas, Supper from a Roadside Barbecue Shack, and a Magic Cotton Tree!

- Join us for our nightly walk here in the Philippines. As usual, when I leave the good cameras at home, interesting things happen. The ladies began our walk by borrowing guavas from a few trees in the cow pasture. We ended up at a little roadside barbecue shack where they spent ALL the money I had in my pocket! Two of the local ladies at the barbecue shack were shelling big seed pods that were full of cotton! We had an interesting night, my friends. Life is all about the simple things. It's about stopping to smell the roses and not being in a hurry.

Kapok it is cotton for pillows better than foam. I enjoyed todays walked the ladies and the babies are incredible so sweet. Thank you for sharing.

That tree were they got the cotton is where the bat's sleep at night. No leaves on the tree and protects
the bat's from the snakes. We have the same trees on Guam.

Hotel in Fuente circle area called Pillows. They got big kapok trees like this there on site.
I didnt know until this video that the kapok life jackets we used in the navy were made of this stuff
Love seeing this family and their days on walks, being at the market and the village. I do have one question though. I’m happy to hear because you said something about, back in the day when you used to drink beer. lol My question is, you used to drink red wine too but I always thought and heard that red wine is actually good for your heart, is that not true? 🤷♀️ Also sending shoutouts to the family. I love a big piece of fish, but small fish are actually healthier to eat because they are significantly less contaminated by heavy metals and other pollutants. These days I mostly eat small for that reason.
Damn right your family is well worth it king Cherish your family king damn never get tired of learning about the Philippines Culture ! Sure wish I could try some of the food over there !

The trash situation is a very easy fix.
Definitely keep an eye out for that bleaching cream. They'll hide it amongst their possessions as well. If you said you didn't want it in your house they shouldn't be going against your rules and buying it with your money
My wife is very light for a Filipino, her sister is much darker., anyway the bottom drawer under the bathroom sink is FULL of whitening
bars of soap. Seldom uses it, keeps buying it every time we are in Cebu.

2:30 Setting up a camera to catch that dog climbing the fence would be good content. A dude in Africa had a pen "Stoffel Honey Badger" who kept escaping and they couldn't figure out how. So they set up a camera and it was amazing. They've fixed one escape path and this thing would figure out another way to escape.

Do your kids speak both languages? How do you teach your kids manners and social norms? I never see you take them to a public mall, restaurant or public site seeing place. Your family is beautiful. I blame the trash problem on the parents, grand-parents, great-grand-parents and back and back. They throw everything on the ground,
the kids see it and follow. Schools need to talk about this problem from the first grade up. Just a few minutes about the problem, once a
week. While up in Vancouver, Canada 40 years ago for a weeks square dance festival, we had the wife's mother with us. We were in a
beautiful Canada Park having a sandwich, mother took her wrapper and tossed it on the ground. No No and triple No, that would be a big
fine if caught. I had to pick that wrapper up and put it in the trash can.
Trash is just a cultural issue... Actually easy to solve, but does require some money and more importantly a high official who has the time to care and work the issue..
How much land is considered private property? How much is concidered government property? And who/what owns the collective areas? Could a Filipino just put a house on that large field and claim it as his? I know the system is different than here in USA, but don't know how it really works there. Thanks for any information.

I know you’ve been making these videos a long time, but have you ever thought about making the videos maybe 20 minutes long I don’t often have an hour to watch the video. I try and I watch what I can but when you have more revenue and success if you cut those videos down to a shorter time frame, just someone that knows nothing about making videos asking someone that knows something about videos lol
