Got one of these at a local flee market. It had no globe but I was lucky to get one from base-camp, Peterborough, UK. The lantern has not got a proper wick but someone’s boot lace ! I lit it up but to be honest it’s not great as the flame keeps going out, so I presume that the bootlace doesn’t wick enough fuel quickly enough to stay lit. The boot lace is also quite thin so the adjustment wheel doesn’t catch it properly. I’ll get the correct wick but the bootlace stays with the lantern.
I hope I can find one of these one day for my collection, but they're nearly impossible to find in Australia, and very expensive too. you're lucky to have 2 nice ones there.
Thank you for your comment. These have soared recently and few are in good condition. However, this size is very cute and has a nice atmosphere with the mellow light.
Thanks. I would also like to make a video of the fire lit at various brightness levels. The light on the “Lu” glove cover are particularly interesting❤️🔥
That's awesome, I never seen or heard of this one, I have my grandfather's feuerhand 275 from 1940, had it out with me camping last weekend. The light was so soothing, believe first time it was lit in 50 years.
Thank you, the Feuerhand lights are very soothing. The Atom75 is a tiny and lovely lantern, but the sturmkappe is a special interesting model with a distinctive light.
I found one in very bad condition for 3$. It was re painted multiple times and covered with rust, the seller don't know what she had. Now im restoring it.
What do you burn as fuel? Kerosene extinguishes well after 5 or 6 minutes. At the beginning everything goes well, but after the lantern gets hot, the flame pops up then extinguishes. Normally shouldn't they burn kerosene? I have two of them but both of them suffer from the same thing. If the environment is cold enough, then they burn well. The same kerosene work well with Coleman kerosene pressure lantern but none with these.
Thank you for visiting. Feuerhand fuel is kerosene. Paraffin oil with little smell is also good. The trouble seems to be in the wick, so replacing it with a new wick may solve the problem.
@@3O8GTB Yes I have #276's as well where kerosene works well. But for #75's, I've found that liquid paraffin (or candle oil) is the only solution, however, you must increase the flame as the lantern gets hot making the fuel thinner. At the very beginning a small flame is required otherwise you may end up burning your wick out.
I still think the problem is with the wick, not the fuel. An old, deteriorated wick may not provide enough fuel. Please check a few points. 1. Is the wick deteriorated? 2. Is there enough length in the wick? 3. Is the correct size wick being used? In any case, replacing the wick with a correct new wick that meets the requirements may solve the problem.
Thank you for all of your suggestions. The problem is not the wick. For about 5 minutes the lamp shines very well. What makes the flame to extinguish is the accumulated kerosene vapors that suddenly catch fire that creates oxygen free low pression area. As long as the lamp stays cool, that duration elongates. Because of this using liquid paraffin is the only solution. After 15 or 20 minutes, the lamp can shine with full power.

Congrats on a super find!🎉 It would be perfect if you could replace the wick.🔥

Congrats! It is a great find. Even if it is covered with rust, it is a diamond in the rough. Please restore it and enjoy it.🍻😉
beautiful 😍
Thanks🙂
Are these made for military? Considering the color and the reflectors ...
I think the black one is a consumer model and the reflector is for motorcycles, and the other olive drab one is a military model.
名前はFEUERHAND No.75 ATOM StK Luですね。

aynisi bende var :)
Teşekkür ederim. FH75 benim favorim :D
So Feuerhand lanterns are now made in China? Reason enough for me not to buy one!
It's certainly different.🧐
