If a car could talk, and some can if you know how to listen to them, this one will tell you some of the craziest stories you’ve ever heard. And that is because this particular 2004 Lamborghini Gallardo used to belong to Jackass co-star Bam Margera. If you don’t know what Jackass is all about, Jackass was an American reality comedy show where the stars of the show would perform painful and idiotic stunts. Today, I borrowed this car from RoseLux Motors here in Schnecksville, PA to show you around this amazing car, and tell you a little bit about it’s history. After that, I will show you some of my favorite features, take it for a drive, and give you my honest feedback on this car. So let’s get to it!
In the late 90s, Lamborghini was in trouble. During this time the company had more failed marriages than Nicolas Cage and only one car to show for it… the Lamborghini Diablo. An incredible car, but one that was troubled with many inconveniences. Lamborghini knew that they needed a smaller, more practical, more “affordable” solution to compete with the likes of Ferrari. In 1995, Maurizio Reggiani was first hired by Lamborghini to negotiate a powertrain deal with Audi who had a great AWD powertrain and a V8 they could use. Reggiani recalls that the idea was to create a “baby Diablo” if you will…
These conversations sparked an interest in Audi who thought that it might be better for them to just acquire Lamborghini. Audi AG signed a deal to buy Lamborghini on June 13, 1998 for an estimated $110 million, a mere fraction of what it paid for Bentley. The rest is history, but what we do know is that this fusion between Lamborghini and Audi created some of the most amazing cars the world has ever seen!
Out of this merger, Lamborghini benefited by having Audi’s vast resources, which helped newer models with their known electrical issues as well as lack of amenities and features. Audi got a great brand with creative engineers and together they can now create platforms that can be shared between both companies. We can see that with models like the Gallardo and the Audi R8, the Urus and the Audi RSQ8, and Porsche’ Cayenne Turbo GT
One of those platforms is this, the Lamborghini Gallardo. Lamborghini’s second best-selling car based on sales volume with the new Urus holding first place... Early model Gallardos (2004-2005) came equipped with a 5.0L V10 90 degree engine with DOHC 4-valve per cylinder producing 492HP at 7500 RPM and 376 ft.lb. of torque at 4500 RPM. You could choose to row your own gears with an H-Pattern 6-speed manual transmission or you could opt for the highly advanced (at the time) e-Gear system. Power was delivered to all 4 corners via an advanced AWD system taking the car to 60mph in just 4.7 seconds according to motortrend.
Later models (2006-2008) Gallardos retain the same drivetrain, but Lamborghini made a lot of small changes after many customers complained about the car. Power output was increased to 520HP with the use of an upgraded exhaust and software changes. The suspension was revised, and a new steering rack was fitted. Gear ratios were also updated giving the car better performance. 2006 also saw the introduction of a spyder version. In 2008, one of my favorite versions of the Gallardo was introduced, the Superleggera. This is an Italian word that simply means super-light and has been used by many manufacturers in Italy to indicate when a vehicle has undergone light-weight construction. As you would imagine, the Superleggera was about 220lb lighter and got another 10HP bringing the total output to 530HP.
The second generation Gallardos (2009-2014), are known as the LP cars. These are generally thought to be more robust and capable cars. These were powered by a new 5.2L V10 producing 552HP at 8,000RPM and 398ft.lb at 6,500RPM. The added power also reduced the time it takes to reach 60mph down to 3.7 seconds. There are also a few different trim levels for the LP cars, but we will cover those in another video!

Alright one of the main differences between this gallardo and others is the sunroof🙄 the fact billy idol cut it with a sawz-all is jus an epic story within itself
Bam took this around the world in 8 days gumball rally. Car got shipped from Philadelphia to London, then Bam drove 24 hours around Europe to Serbia then put the car on airplane to Phuket Thailand, drove up to Bangkok, stopped in Sapporo Japan then drove to Anchorage Alaska and from there went to Salt lake city all the way to LA then flew it to Detroit and then he drove it back home, all in 8 days......

People on here complaining about the appearance. Dunn told Bam before they started out on the rally “take a good look at your car, it’s the last time you’ll see it like this. Paint will get scratched, chipped, wheels will get scratched.” That’s just the way it is.
And let's not forget the reverse went out on the car. When the police pulled them over and asked them to back up they said they had no reverse, the cop thought they were joking.

Man this car is an absolute legend. Growing up during my teenage years watching Viva la bam I loved watching this car on TV. Definitely brought back alot of memories growing up. I actually met Bam in 2013 and asked him if he still had this car. He said it had over 100,000 miles on it, and that was almost 10 years ago so who knows the mileage on it now haha. I had no idea this car even came up for sale! Does anyone know how much it ended up selling for?

Iv watch this Lamborghini since I was 14 years old 12 plus years I’m shock under bam’s care it made it to 2021 .
I've been told the car was actually serviced regularly and that a lot of the crazy stunts we saw on the show were planned and faked, like the time it was filled with diesel.

I’m really late to the party, I didn’t even know about Viva La Bam until September of 2020 and it’s my new favorite MTV show after Pimp My Ride. This 2004 Lamborghini Gallardo was revealed on the show at the end of the Groundhogs Day episode in Season 4, he named it “Bambo Lambo”. Later that year in Season 5 in the episode “Ape’s Surprise”, Bam arranged a birthday surprise for his mother, April, by flying in British rockstar, Billy Idol, who had the genius idea of cutting the roof open, Bam later got a sunroof fitted and had Lamborghini door hinges put on after the show ended. He held onto his Lambo fro 16/17 years since it was brand new off the showroom floor, even after his first H2 was totaled after plummeting 200ft down a cliff in the episode “Where’s Vito?”(Thanks a lot Don Vito, ya fat ass). After Viva La Bam aired it’s final episode in August of 2005, Bam and Dunn took the “Bambo Lambo” to London for that year’s Gumball Rally with Tony Hawk. When it was being loaded into the cargo plane mid-race,one of the guys at the loading bay thought it would be funny to try drifting Bam’s car before loading it i to the plane, and the gearbox was damaged, Bam and Dunn wound up stranded in a third world city in the dead of night, Bam was exhausted and upset by what happened with his car at the airport and he took a piss on the front of it. But despite their misfortune that night, they were able to get it fixed and finish the rally while few other Gumballers unfortunately weren’t as lucky. This car has been through so much over the years. If I was to win some sort of lottery jackpot, I would buy this Gallardo in a fraction of a heartbeat.
