You may not know this but your channel is actually underrated, the quality of the videos is amazing and your tones and tutorials and some of the best on TH-cam
Thank you for sharing your story. Selfishly, I hope you keep making videos because I absolutely love them. All of them. Your playing is incredible. Your camera work is beautiful. You also seem to be very honest and genuine. Thank you for inspiring me.
Seeing so many TH-camrs being burnt out or frustrated is sad... obviously the TH-cam thing isn't a sustainable source of income if you want to hold up some level of quality in your work.
Your channel is one of my favourites on TH-cam and I’ve been watching for many years. As a full time videographer myself, I enjoy the production value of your content very much. I spend every free moment I have making TH-cam content on the side and it’s quite exhausting trying to do both! It’s deflating trying to grow a channel and knowing that TH-cam is not helping its creators like it once did. Keep up the good work though!
You have been an inspiration to so many over the years man, i really hope it all works out and you find your spark for this stuff again. You’re one of my favourite players!
I have no regrets in watching all the videos I’ve watched of yours… They made me smile, ironically enjoy more my guitars, learn a lot and enjoy all I’ve seen. You are one of a kind and I am happy to have found you in the big net. Cheers & Take care m8! Skol!
ah man, I'm so sorry to hear this. It all sounds pretty defeating. I definitely understand where you're coming from. I'm glad you're able to take it slowly and I'm really glad you're starting to enjoy it at least a little bit again.
Fwiw I watch quite a lot of gear reviews on TH-cam and yours are by far my favorites! You have the absolute best samples with great riffs and songwriting. Sad to hear TH-cam is giving you a hard time. Fingers crossed things work out from now on 🤞
Eirik, you’re one of my favorite TH-camrs i’ve ever discovered. i love your playing style, i love your content, i love everything you do for earning the bread. I also just want to say, follow your heart and do what feels the best for you. so many respect for you. greetings from the Netherlands
TH-cam needs to get their act together. And I also want to say, I all but stopped playing guitar for a few years, but your channel has gotten me back into playing guitar and collecting gear again.
Love your channel and your content. Your channel is one of my favorite guitar channels. Your tone and style has been a great inspiration and influence. Sorry you’re going through such a crappy time….don’t give up! oh…and there were several ads during this video.
Thanks for sharing. I have followed your channel for a long time. It's a shame high quality content like this finds it hard to get an audience. Big fan of your demos and playing!
This sadness is all you lost your mojo for a while. I hope you feel better soon. This channel is one of the few I jump on as soon as I see a new video. Chin up and keep fighting the BS we enjoy your shit lots of
I'm a (3-4 years) fan of your channel. Excellent commentary and only getting better. Great gear demos. Great chops. Great genre and tone ideas. Thanks for an excellent guitar channel. Keep up the great work in spite of algorithm nonsense.
Dude, I love watching all your videos! They are so helpful, inspiring, and interesting! I really hope to see you way more often. Truely love this channel.
Please don't let YT spoil your enthusiasm for the instrument we all love! I'm actually quite happy that I have my day job and can let my channel run alongside for fun, even if that means that it's growing at a very slow pace. Our love for music should always be at the foremost when it comes to motivation,.
I'm always excided for your videos, top notch content especially for a QOTSA fan. All of this stuff you went through really sucks, I hope for a speedy recovery and mostly don't rush things! cheers from Italy
My favorite guitar TH-camr and definitely in my opinion the most genuine. But you’ve gotta do whatever it takes to keep it from robbing you of the joy of making music. All the best!!
Thanks for sharing this. You’re one of the inspirations that led me to start my own channel, so thank you for that! I’ve recently started an email list to break free of these platforms’ control over us, such as recommendation algorithms now that IG followers and YT subscribers are meaningless. Wishing you all the best! Sean
S*#t happens and We dont give up. We can take a vacation, but WE.DONT. GIVE. UP. You´re one of my favorite content creators and your music is awesome, so the world would be worse without your contribution to its beauty. PS: TH-cam blocked you into my feed. I had to search you because i´ve missed you. I totally understand your grief and anger, But keep on going. We, the fans, are here for you and i know youre going to turn the tables and laugh at this someday. Cheers from Portugal Mate. A great hug.
Sorry you’re having to deal with this and thanks for sharing. And yes, do explore that idea of just making music and sharing that! I’d be down to listen to that.
Wow man really enjoy your content. That really sucks, and of course all us Ampeg owners and QOTSA fans have watched your videos multiple times over the years. Not too mention the countless info! I also pay studio rent, and was going to start shifting towards TH-cam…but guess not. But studio rent can be pricey, and also the insurance coverage as well. It’s not just in your bedroom once you have to play loud, and get to a certain level to work. I spend 8hrs+ a week in mine, plus 40hrs a week working in AV/IT. So it’s kind of like work to take one of my days off to spend 8+ hrs in a remote location. Please keep creating content, and we will try to support through packs. Def will check out your Ampeg packs, and if you ever do a QOTSA early drum sample type pack I’d grab it! Best of luck man!
Sorry to hear this. You are great. I always worry when someone turns the thing they love into their job it has the potential to destroy the love they had for that thing. I really hope that doesn’t happen to you. Frankly, it sounds awful to be making the cool and creative videos you make and then having to worry about how many people view and how much money it generates. We shouldn’t be using some clumsy algorithm to decide how we spend our lives.
I have noticed that I recently started hitting the “do not recommend channel” button a lot, and frequently on videos I hadn’t even given a minute of my time to figure out if I like them or not. This would indicate that I’m completely fed up with people hustling on this platform by trying to tell me what I should buy next. The market is simply oversaturated with people who want to be the next big gear channel. And the newer somebody is at this game, the more obvious the grift becomes. Titles in the format of “don’t buy this, by that!” Or “such and such manufacturer should be very nervous” reek of desperation and opportunism. So I’m glad about the dozen or so tried and true channels, like yours, where I know that I will be spoken to with respect, and by actual musicians.
You figure if you’re flagged they’d have a person or team monitor your channel to prevent stuff like this from happening. Sorry to hear this because you and this channel definitely doesn’t deserve to be demonitized
I understand what you are feeling. Burnout, discouragement, etc. I’ve been watching your videos for many years now and I just wanted to say you’ve made an impact! My advise would be to change it up! Switch the setting, create a new side of the business, something to engage your mind and get you excited about the future!
Thanks a lot! It has drawn me more towards working as a DP, which has been a lot of fun. But music and guitar hasn't really been a part of my everyday life in a while. Need to make some room for it again.
TH-cam: I’ve watched much of the content from this channel…which is both unique (original) and top notch. It’s content providers like The Living Room GD that keep me coming back. If this is how you treat your providers then I’d happily seek content elsewhere.
Crossroads man. Love your stuff and would love to see more. Have enjoyed it enormously for years. But nothing lasts forever. Maybe it’s the cue to move on and try something else? Just be happy.
I'm so sorry to hear that you've been hit with these unpredictable financial blows. And of course, once your passion turns into a job, it's extremely difficult to find the joy in what you once loved. I was a piano teacher for a few years, then I was a salesman in music retail. They really destroyed my passion for playing. Music was an escape for me, but it was suddenly all around me in the least creative way. I'm still trying to find my way back. I think what you're experiencing is normal.
Personally I think TH-camrs should stop with the top quality productions, I don’t mind lower quality videos and lighting and all that kind of stuff- something about old school TH-cam was more attractive to me
TH-cam guitar community was a lot more fun when it was kids arguing with old timer bar band guys over tonewood just sitting in their room with their iPhone. Once the corporations, stores and gear demos got huge, the fun disappeared. This was supposed to be guys just shooting the shyt, trading licks and lessons and arguing over stupid shyt like tonewood. Now it just sucks and I don’t blame anyone for quitting.
I agree, like I'll still watch a video regardless of the production values but something about a video looking good kills a bit of my interest. Only for visuals though, I feel the opposite about audio
Hei, Eirik. Tar den på norsk fordi jeg kan. TH-cam (og kjipe utleiere) er ganske ubrukelig, altså! Ta vare på deg selv. Håper selvfølgelig at du fortsetter å lage videoer, men vil heller at du trives og lever godt enn at du lager videoer bare fordi du må. Takk for bra videoer, fet lyd og til lommeboken min for at jeg ikke har råd til en pinehome-gitar
Them demonetizing the whole channel is absolutely ridiculous to me that makes me mad for you. Especially for the reason they did it cause it’s so hypocritical when people like sniper wolf just straight up steal the content and nothing happens to her.
Hah! Best way is to sign up to my newsletter, you do so by getting the free tone guide in the description. There's probably a way to sign up without getting the guide as well, just follow the link. Thanks for the support!
It's really a huge problem these days that you can almost never speak to a human being when there are issues. It's even a problem sometimes if you just have simple questions that are just a little different than the frequently asked questions that the bots answer. Everything is automated, and you can't get an explanation, nor can you settle a problem if it arises. I feel for you. It truly sucks to be at the mercy of the algorithm. The bots are pretty smart but they are far from perfect. To get a blanket demonetization without a salient explanation is insane, yet it happens all the time.
Unfortunately, there's no "due process" type protection against our Benevolent Corporate Overlords... much less the (relatively small number of) people who are most picky about copyright enforcement. I'm sure it's hard to stay in everyone's favor, and I'm glad that you're getting back to normal. Good luck!
I'm sorry. I've really enjoyed your videos. I wonder if the group of well known youtube musicians could get together on another platform and keep the rewards for yourself.
I would look into litigation to get your earned money back. I know that’s a headache, but TH-cam has no right to take what’s rightfully yours. Class action lawsuit perhaps
Have you thought about setting up a Patreon? I'm sure a lot of us would be willing to subscribe over there! :) Lots of love from Finland, we are technically neighbours *wink wink*
The internet has been a race to the bottom, unfortunately. The wanton greed of the algorithm has ruined everything about it. Aside form that, YT guitarists are sooo boring. I'm so tired of tone attorney/blues lawyer noodlers. None of them rock. You do. You're like the only guy who ever plays riffs.
There is far too much of it, use to be like 40 guys now it's 40 000 guitar gear channels I try not to watch many of them anymore and stay off my phone and write music.
I've been a sub for many, many years. You were one of my first subs actually. Since the white bedroom days... We love what you do dude. What YT did was a sucky thing to do and we hope you can get back what you lost somehow. All in all, pay attention to what you need and what your family needs. That comes first. We'll be here if you decide to take an extended break. Your mental health and your wellbeing comes first.
Not saying you deserve it, but this is what happens when your employment is solely based on a faceless employer and the employee holds no worker's rights... Rough business model mate.
Whenever I see videos like this it just makes me wish there were third party groups who could contest and resolve these issues with TH-cam’s shitty guidelines. This platform is a blessing. The good channels (such as his) are basically free entertainment and education, but I hope something forces TH-cam’s hand into providing resources and clear regulations in favour of content creators, instead of the endless march towards burnout they’re so keen on making creators walk. Wishing you all the best LRGD x
hey, thank you, and you are absolutely correct. Some sort of third party group or union or whatever. I can understand that TH-cam is so massive that they can't resolve all cases like this. And unfortunately they'll have to automate a lot of the stuff that they do. But it's so vulnerable, and it can mess up channels, companies and a lot of stuff but being this dysfunctional
Totally understand. Even though my channel isn't nearly at your level of production, SO MUCH goes into making a video and when things aren't going well, it's hard to find motivation. Over the last couple of months, I've bought and traded guitars and gear that I never showed on the channel, and that was a lot of fun. I've also been exploring a lot of music without teaching or sharing it with anyone else. I've found that doing things without the pressure of making it into a video helps to reinspire the desire to make videos. Thanks for sharing.
I haven't watched much of this channel lately and the reason to be honest is that I, even before you talked about it, noticed that you the last few years seemed to be chasing what type of video would land in views. Don't take this comment as critique as much as a difference in taste in youtube videos. I guess I like videos that are more of a documentation of something that the creator would have done anyway, even if the camera was off - as compared to "content" made for the sake of making content. I understand that if you are indeed trying to be a youtuber this is inevitable, I just thought I'd mention it - that chasing what the algorithm seems to promote at the moment or current trends can actually repel some audiences. I think it has to do with getting a bit burned out on "content". There's just so much of it, so one might start to crave autenticity. Sorry for the essay, I just went back to coffee after several months of tea. FRESH POTS!
I have to agree with your comment. I make the type of content you mention. I am doing well and sometimes getting more views on some of my content than this channel gets. I think people are tired of "content" that has a ton of editing and is made on trending topics. I shoot my content with love and affection and although its high quality, I make what I want to, not what the algorithm wants. I, as a result, have carved out my own niche in guitar synthesizers which I believe are the future of the instrument. People want to connect with a creator and this dude is forgetting that HARD.
The internet has been a race to the bottom, unfortunately. The wanton greed of the algorithm has ruined everything good about the internet. Aside from that, it seems that global capitalism and corporate monopoly has every single worker in every industry struggling to even survive. We're going to need UBI in the not-so-distant future or people aren't going to be able to live. I thought it was just the U.S., but this is happening everywhere. Aside form that, YT guitarists are sooo boring. I'm so tired of tone attorney/blues lawyer noodlers. None of them rock. You do. You're like the only guy who ever plays riffs.
So sorry this is happening to you. The whole content creation thing… it’s rough man, I know I couldn’t do it. been a big fan of yours for years and always appreciate what you do. I selfishly hope you’re always able to do this, but just remember to put yourself and your mental health first.
@@LivingroomGearDemos Yes i mean for 7 years i uploaded at least 1 video for every week. Now i rearly upload. As you said views are dropped very badly.
I'm so enraged by this behaviour from YT.... It's clear that we are back to the 19 centuries I hope you will keep making video and sharing with us your passion
Love your content and channel… Sorry you’ve been put through that bullshit. Astonishing and disgusting (but unsurprising) behavior from TH-cam.. Hey Renee (@TH-camLiaison) -.care to comment?
You're a very talented guitar player but most importantly you are a genuinely nice person. When things are going bad always keep that guitar right beside you cause it's what you love to do. Stay strong, keep a cool head & you will persevere with more strength. Every obstacle we overcome will only make us stronger. Always remember that. Keep up the great videos! Cheers from Massachusetts!
Wow. TH-cam has really started to lose the plot. I'm sorry that's happened to you. I will continue to watch and support as much as I can.
Always the plan with Google and going according it.
I’m with you buddy. 100% going through the same thing.
Very sorry to hear that this happened. I've been on TH-cam for over 16 years, and there is almost no motivation to continue making content here.
You might not enjoy the whole TH-cam thing right now, but I’ve enjoyed your content for years and still do. Cheers!
You may not know this but your channel is actually underrated, the quality of the videos is amazing and your tones and tutorials and some of the best on TH-cam

Have you thought about setting up a Patreon? I'm sure a lot of us would be willing to subscribe over there! :)
Lots of love from Finland, we are technically neighbours *wink wink*
The internet has been a race to the bottom, unfortunately. The wanton greed of the algorithm has ruined everything about it.
Aside form that, YT guitarists are sooo boring. I'm so tired of tone attorney/blues lawyer noodlers. None of them rock. You do. You're like the only guy who ever plays riffs.
Seriously! The algorithm has gotten out of hand. Abolish the algorithm!
It is pretty bonkers, yes.
TH-cam has been doing this to creators for years. TH-cam is trash. Sorry tho she’s happened to you, man.
Then quit bro
👍🏻
@@LivingroomGearDemos if it doesn’t make you happy anymore brotha what’s the point
TH-cam 🤮
There is far too much of it, use to be like 40 guys now it's 40 000 guitar gear channels I try not to watch many of them anymore and stay off my phone and write music.
Also TH-cam are pricks! They kept my 200 bucks! Said I needed one more dollar to get my check so they kept it all.
So wait, you stole those studios and homes you gave us tours of?! You monster!
lmao just quit youtube
YT showed me ads in this video, fyi.
yeah, they came back on in March or May. After the 3 months
Stå på!
So sorry this is happening to you. The whole content creation thing… it’s rough man, I know I couldn’t do it. been a big fan of yours for years and always appreciate what you do. I selfishly hope you’re always able to do this, but just remember to put yourself and your mental health first.
İ quit youtube after 7years and making over 650videos… i rarely upload a video. Im one of the most famous guitar channel in Turkiye :/
You quit recently? Sad
@@LivingroomGearDemos Yes i mean for 7 years i uploaded at least 1 video for every week. Now i rearly upload. As you said views are dropped very badly.
I'm so enraged by this behaviour from YT....
It's clear that we are back to the 19 centuries
I hope you will keep making video and sharing with us your passion
I will! Thanks for the support!
I cant watch this video it makes too angry, you tube have done the same to me loads of times! So sorry mate I love your content
