I think it's just a custom model to avoid copyright, though based off of a different aircraft like the one you mentioned, in the new MW trilogy the gunship is a custom model based off the AC-130 @Toniusaurus
Kinna annoy that the Gunship and Juggernaut always follow us in every COD😂. And I kinna miss the old day where AC-130 mission was a bit harder due to visibility and restriction to civilian property damage and we use them in the actual war (like in OG MW3)
You also have to realize that as ac-130 get more upgrades, it will have better cameras and sensors. All of the new ac-130j have cameras pretty much in 4k and in full color as well. Gone are the days of ac-130s have fuzzy cameras. Mw2022 is the most accurate depiction of what a modern day ac-130 looks like that mission also had rules of engagement as well even more than the mw3 mission. If you watch the ac-130 video by Sam eckholm it looks exactly like mw 2022.

We need a better defenition of "Gunship" in CoD, there is a severe difference between a flying boat launching heaps of lead and explosives onto a target and a Helicopter/VTOL with guns and rocket pods.
Cold war is my favorite one, the sound it makes from the ground and the fact you can have the AI using it while you call another thing like the Vtol Escort is amazing, sadly the Dreadnought doesn't have that. The BO6 one is almost as cool

ac-130 in the 30ish player ground war matches in mw2019 was amazing, could get over 30 kills with it on certain maps, promenade was pretty much guaranteed to get you around 20 kills each time.

Are the rocket pods in the dreadnought guided? Do you hve to keep aiming with the crosshairs in order for them to stay closer together? Or they spread out on their own? Thats a sick ass upgrrade they made to the gunship. I prefer the extra fire power and its cooler. But wanted to see if anyone knew if they were “laser guided”

Indeed. You’d need an 18 kill streak to get the AC-130 in CoDM. If I can remember in MW2 the requirement was only for an 11 kill streak
