Your gear reviews are hands-down the best on TH-cam. You explain the product, you do side-by-side comparison, you put it through the paces, and you show it in real life Situations…I.E… how many cans can actually fit, what’s left over for ice… Etc. I especially appreciated the comparison of hot tenting woodburning stoves.
I've had a couple of coolers with glued on glitter. 1st, a 1 gallon water jug I carried on a farm tractor. After about a month, the push-button water valve broke. 2nd Item a 6 pack cooler with handles similar to a water jug. Fixed the cooler by epoxying ropes for the handle. I epoxy a piece of foam (yoga mat) to the bottom. That seemed to help insulate the bottom from heat rising into the lunch box. Not pretty, but it didn't need to be. So, in real life, it's easier to tip a small cooler over than replace a valve.
I thinkI’d want to see how it does in 80-degree weather with no shade. I’ve yet to find a cooler that does what it says. On a fixed income, that’s an important point for me. Thanks for a thorough review and I may consider this as a win and will purchase it. I hope it doesn’t fail me. I like the size - I’d rather have a cooler that’s taller and not longer so it fits in my car with less space. Time will tell, eh?
Just picked this up on sale for $49.99. Watched your review after purchasing and I'm glad to hear that it seems to be a good product. Planning to test this out this weekend camping in 90+ degree weather in Idaho. Thanks for the detailed review. I learned a lot!
Man I saw your video that you did with the other coolers and this one was in the competition and it lasted like 5 days holding the ice I was super impressed with the results with this cooler being 60 bucks 😹I just wanted a small cooler and this make me get it today thanks for well precise review🎉❤
We bought one a couple of months ago. We have a remote cabin an hour truck ride and an hour UTV ride to our remote cabin. I put it in the freezer a few days before we go to the cabin and everything stays frozen till we get to the cabin. We other coolers for other food as we go there for 10-15 days at a time.
I bought this cooler last year. I think it gets the job done for the price. Mine must be a an older model. The latches on the one I have are solid plastic. Nice vest. I love Mountain Hard Wear. My favorite back country apparel
The big PLUS is its COSTCO you can return it in 2,3,5,10 years if it breaks anything. Will fit five 2 liter bottles with plenty of ice which is what I bought it for
I guess my only issue with these coolers is that they’re marketed as a “day” cooler or something to keep your stuff cold for basically a few days..they do work (I have the small rtic version) but my Coleman will also hold ice for the day/few days as well 🤷♂️
Would you ever consider taking a sawzall or something and cracking a bunch of these open to compare the quality and thickness of insulation on the inside?
Rtic just released a 22 QT Ultra light. Would love to see a comparison between this Coho 24, the new Rtic 22, and the Yeti Roadie 24. Liked and subbed your channel. Great content!
Having bought both the Rtic Ultra light 22 is awesome. Blows the Coho out of the water. The soft carry strap is fantastic. Spend a little more and get the Rtic, you won’t be disappointed!
At 15:51 you're talking about injection molding and show the gray perimeter around the mouth of the cooler. Any idea what those four 1.5 inch slots are used for on the gray molding? There appears to be a matching groove on the underside of the white molding just beneath the slots. I don't see any accessories for the cooler and these slots must serve some purpose right??? I just got this cooler and I'm impressed with the features at $50!
The slots don't go all the way through, so I'm pretty sure they are just there for the manufacturing process. Probably places for tools to clamp the two parts of the cooler together.
Thanks for your reply! Proud to report a that this cooler has delivered on two very hot Texas weekends during my son's baseball tournaments. Pre-cooled the night before and packed with Titan Ice Packs (another Costco purchase).
Wondering if the bigger one they sell (i think its 55qt) is equally as good. I saw you cut it in half in another video and it looks to have great insulation. This 24qt is too small for any need I'd use it for and I'm looking to upgrade a blow-molded igloo I have.
For the money the 55qt rotomolded Coho cooler is a good deal. It's not the best at ice retention compared to many other coolers I've tested, but it's still plenty good for most folks.
The yeti roadie 24 is not rotomolded!! At 5x what I paid for this cooler thats crazy. Yeti does not have a Bear proof cooler and aside from the roadie 20( no longer available) only the Tundra is bear resistant.
@outdoorempirecom thanks for the reply, tried a quick test with my coho 10lbs of ice and some drinks left in back of my truck under the tonneau Temps in the 70s kind of overcast, got three days of ice retention so I'm really happy with the purchase. As a note my drain showed no sign of leaking but it did sweat a lot.
Thanks for the sub! So far so good, no issues. I think the only way those plastic parts that attach the handle to the cooler will really break is if they get bashed on something and crack. Even then, they might do their job. I don't think it's a big deal, it's just not as smoothly integrated as some other coolers I've seen.
This cooler is the biggest piece of crap on the face of the Earth. They said 3 and 1/2 days of ice retention. I can't get 3 hours out of it. Definitely a waste of money

Great review!! Thanks for pointing out the drain issue. It's on clearance at my local Costco for $39

Glad it was helpful!
For the price, this is a winner that will be hard to beat.
Nuff said.
thanks for this long form review. definitely in the running for the weekend cooler here in AZ
You bet!
That cooler is the perfect height to sit on, a major plus for me on a flat deck boat!

Awesome! Sounds like an amazing place.
Just picked this up. I’m excited to test it out. Thanks for sharing this video.
Hope you enjoy it!
Just picked one up at Costco for $39.97 on markdown. Thought it was a no brainer.
I just bought two, LOL. Figured I might give on to my kid for Christmas. Pretty good deal for $40

Thanks for sharing. Love that vest.
I got the same cooler but mine has a big fish on the front . It seems to holding up so far
I buy one now that you did a review on it. Keep up the great work. Like your reviews your not afraid to tell it like it is.
I appreciate that!
The big PLUS is its COSTCO you can return it in 2,3,5,10 years if it breaks anything.

Great points!
You can also lose your membership permanently if you abuse the return policy. Just google it.

As a matter of fact, yes. Yes, I would.

Great idea, thanks for the suggestion. And thanks for the sub!

☃️❄️❄️☃️Good cooler for $60 for 1 or 2 days Coho rocks Dont break the bank with a $250 yeti roadie❄️❄️❄️
Sold at Costco. Cooler is not currently listed on the Coho website.
Cooler is strong I'm 330 lbs and stand on it all the time

I have this one the ice did last 3 days...
Sweet!
Just subscribed. What do you think of the handle from the plastic component? Looks like it would break over time? How’s it holding up for you?

The stability test sold it for me...lol....you can get a pretty good rock goin
It was a pretty serious test. 😂
Awesome review i just picked one of these up
Hope you enjoy it!
Fantastic review, thank you
My pleasure!
How to seal the leak on the drain plug?
Just had to crank it down super tight and it quit leaking.
Anyway to add a carry strap to this instead of the handle?
The handle does bolt on in a way, so you could probably jerry rig something.
Just picked one up for $40. Must be lowering the price later in the year.
Wow!
Until 5/26/24 it's on sale for $49.99!
Heck of a deal!
Just picked one up for that price on Friday. Seems like a solid ice chest for small outings.
$59!!!! For a leaky cooler?! * clicks off * 😂😂😂❤❤❤
That or I'm just weak when it comes to twisting on a drain cap. 😂
@@theoutdoorempire no the cooler is a POS as is the company
Catch anything?
Nope.
$20 is the best I can do
It’s 24 qts and it won’t fit in a Honda ridgine 😂
Can't please 'em all I guess.
$69.99
