- When Darla and I first got married we were on the Newlywed game. This is a throwback of the 80’s. Notice the hair. But on this show, in my defense, I truly misunderstood the question. I felt so bad, Darla almost started crying. Enjoy ... the commercials have been taken out

They should bring back all of the Newlywed Game contestants from years gone by just to see who remained married and who went their separate ways.

Awesome that the guy posting this was on it! Also no need to defend yourself Danny boy. These questions were designed to trip people up/make them look dumb for entertainment. I can safely assume many a domestic incident happened back stage after filming episodes considering how "controversial" some of the questions were for the 70s/80s.

Love these old shows.
Great couples. The show varies the order of the answers between giving them to the wife and giving them to the husband and vice versa. They also change the order of which couple answers when compared to the order when asking the first spouse. Also, often lost on people, including the couples is that it's the first spouse's obligation to PREDICT what the other spouse will say, not what is the correct answer. So, the first spouse is the one who answers wrong or right, not the second spouse. Good job Danny and thanks for sharing!

I just looked up Bob Eubanks. He's not your typical Hollywood type. He's never been divorced. First wife died in '02 remarried in '04.
One of the few episodes where I'm pretty sure all of the couples really truly love each each other.

When I watch these old episodes, I always wonder which couples are still married.

I always thought that some1 should go all the way back to the old episodes of the original show & starting there, & try & contact every couple & see who is still 2gether/alive. I wonder how many couples have been on the show since it 1st started. It probably would be hard to find all the couples, cuz it has to be in the thousands. It was black & white when it first started. I watched it as a kid (I'm 54 now)in the late '60's, but it was in color by the time I started watching it.

THis episode aired between September 12-December 2, 1988 as during the beginning of the fourth season they had his never done before or since money format. December 5, 1988 saw Paul Rodriguez take over as host, the show went back to its original format, and three couples instead of four.

The thing about that is if you look at any type of porn from the 80s, most women had a full bush going along with the big hair. There were a few that didn’t. But as a general rule they did. Big hair on the top the hair on the bottom LOL big drapes on the top and shag carpet on the bottom LOL

But to still be together as a testimony to the strength of their commitment and relationship. All I have to say to them is congratulations.

I only saw the new version once and I was shocked. I liked this one and thought it was really funny so many many years ago. But even at that time it was considered pretty risque. I thought the newer one was downright nasty. But I'm very old fashioned because I'm very old now. LOL

Yes, Darla and I are still married. 2 grown boys, both successful in their journeys in life whom we are very close to. Now we are retired and enjoying life.
