Roger issues an ultimatum to art valuer Nick, sell half of his pictures or face the consequences - attending a yoga class with his boss. Chelsea's upmarket clientele are on the lookout for the latest trend, animal skulls.
The Auction House is a documentary series that provides a unique glimpse into this extraordinary institution and reveals why its a magnet for eccentric home-owners, antiques buffs, and obsessive collectors alike. Upstairs at Lots Road is the antiques section and whereas the prices for Victorian furniture are in freefall, the Modern auction downstairs (considered to be a little less elegant) is decidedly more lucrative.
The Auction House faces a daily struggle to embrace change and exploit new markets whilst trying to turn a profit at the same time. Over the course of the series, cameras will follow dynamic boss Roger and his loyal staff as they strive to meet the sophisticated tastes of the super-rich. Not only will viewers get to see the highly skilled team in action as they deduce what items are worth more than mere sentiment and sort the privileged from the timewasters, but also meet the obsessive collectors in pursuit of the perfect deal.
As the closed doors of Londons most lavish homes are thrown open, the bidding starts now for your front row seat to the ultimate fly on the wall experience.
Welcome to Reel Truth History, the home of gripping and powerful documentaries. Here you can watch both full length documentaries and series that explore some of the most comprehensive pieces of world history.

That is pretty disrepectful to disallow someone like Meg, who is so much a part of the company, to not be included in the big working charity event. Networking with the ladies helps boost their interest in bringing items like the lucrative pocketbooks/purses Meg manages very well. Charity starts at home, $5,000,000 to strangers 000000 to those who labor for you daily. Sad arrogance of the wealthy, if it's not staged for TV purposes by Meg and Roger.

I could spend years in places like this, and the married couple with all the wonderful paintings. I would love to to spend a few days with my wife and them. I could see it being a blast! My wife’s half British and she hasn’t see Her grandmother in over a decade and that would be cool to visit her as well. We joined the military in hopes of traveling and got stuck in the same place for 10yrs.

Roger targets Meg, IMO. It's like he knows she's talented enough to get a better job elsewhere, so he hopes by crushing her self-esteem he'll prevent her from thinking bigger & leaving. Meg's work is some of the most profitable at Lots Road--Roger is hoping an insecure Meg will stay at Lots Road longer to keep those profits going to his pocket.

It is hard to reconcile this successful business with such a dysfunctional organisation. Its all very well (some of) the figures up whichever percentage year-on-year rather than the potential revenues if they optimise the space, the purchasing protocol and the strength of their long serving staff. This company needed a complete business review by the new GM (after a few weeks organisation analysis) to get to grips with a holistic strategy and a key statistics reporting format and frequency for an ‘absent’ owner. Its an adorable shambles which appears to succeed despite the shortcomings. Bless ‘em!

Lily, smart bidder. Smart choices to bid on, things that will go up in value....and be passed down in the family. Someone might buy the cat lady craft projects, but, those won't be passed down and beloved. Nick needs to into the homes and see what people have on their walls... and talk to them, what do they LIKE and WANT? It's more simplicity and clean lines. Kim Kardashian doesn't even have paintings on her walls. (and she's considered fairly tacky).

Yes, at least a majority, for example a few of my childhood friends that moved in to the capitol in the 90s. Now they won't even talk to people in the rural areas because they are afraid of the truth will spread among their new fancy plastic fake friends.
It's one thing if one want to look fancy and drive expensive cars one pretend to easily afford (i know for sure it was not at all brand new when he bought it...), but another if one start to act arrogant toward toher people.
People i hawe real respect for is people like the guy who once run a small company here and bought hi's expensive car with money from honest work and a lifetime building up the company, employed local folks, etc. And actualy cared for hi's company. Before he sold the company when hi became to old to work and decided to retire.
Certanly not those people wich wanted to throw out one of my old workmates when hi wisited them because he wanted to buy sailparts to a big sailboat, when hi tould them that it was him who drove the garbage truck... What he did not tould them when hi left with a hidden smile on hi's face is that he owned the truck company...

how any of these employees have their jobs is beyond me. Also, this may be the oddest in the UK, but you all need to come to the US, especially the South, say Houston. Oil money... and taste probably about the same. Our local thrift shop had a full lion stuffed, and it was over a dead deer of some sort. It was so inexpensive, as it's a matter of WHERE WOULD YOU PUT IT. But Roger, we all get here in the US, he needs to fire most of his staff. Your boss may be ODD, but he's the boss. Jobs like this are rare and it's this or the Pound Store checkout.

I would really like to work for someone like Rodger. The young people in his store unfortunately are born in a generation where they are given everything. Thanks to technology. So they're soft skills leaves much to be desired. And I'm 41 and I would never be just sitting in a chair or slouching about in my place of work especially in front of my boss. Regardless, of what our relationship is. A lot of employers like to keep a defined line between professional and personal. And Meg is an example of that reason why. However, Rodger tries to balance that. But when you choose to work for someone that you have a pleasant relationship with. You must always remember that when you are in that place of business and you are there to perform a task you need to be at your station. You need to be looking busy. And you need to respect the wishes of your employer. Meg was very disrespectful and she could definitely use some soft skills training. All of those young people can. Rodger is an amazing boss. He challenges you he has a expectations and unfortunately Young Generation act like they can't break a sweat.
