Thanks for the info Khang. Have been watching your videos for a while and always enjoy them. For tomatoes i picked up the container collection from Tomatofest. I have not tried them all but the Tiny Tim cherry tomato plants are excellent. They only grow about 1 to 1.5 feet high and have a high yield. I planted 2 of them with some Thai basil and they all produced for 10 months before i finally decided to change them out.

@@atlantic2233 epsom salt is magnesium, usually used in soil and gardens. Magnesium comes in the cal mag for hydroponics, although not always needed if there is enough in your water supply. It is essential in distilled and ro filter systems, rainwater etc
We love our areo garden i use it to start hatd to pop seeds like Lavender or Pumpkins. Having a super cool wet summer up here in Alaska. Carrots should be Way bogger! Great Advice & Grow

I think the information of water change every 4 weeks is correct for good plant health. What are your views? For water, I was planning on using grocery store Spring water as it is very consistent in mineral content and highly filtered. Your views again? People should not consume RO or distilled water so why should plants. Use their mineral blend.
Curious, do you top your tanks off with Fresh Water between adding Nutrients? For instance, on mine, it wants more water every couple of days, and asks for new Fertilizer ever couple of weeks. Do you give it plain water every couple of days or the nutrient rick water?

My aerogarden is near a window so it gets natural sunlight for a few hours a day and then the timer is set for the light to kick-in so I get 18 hours of exposure for the plants.

its the "nitrogen" that causes the continued growth and leaf drop not feeding in general. if you used a different fert, one with the ratio like 1:2:3 it would flower like a boss.
I have a small aerogarden (sprout) and the bubbler stopped working so there is no air being pumped into the system. I don't want to throw it away. Is it ok for me to plant plants in this? Is there something I can do to help it. Thank you.
Hello Khang! Awesome video, as always! I just found your channel recently as I got interested in Hydroponics. I am a pepper guy, I currently have 5 varieties that are germinating/sprouts. I never really looked into hydroponics until a friend of mine told me that it works amazingly well for year round growing. I live in Alabama so it both gets 95f and 20f, neither of which do my peppers like. Do you think a full DIY DWC setup would be a better choice over an AeroGarden if I am willing to put in the time and bit of extra money? A few of my friends have AeroGardens and they are amazing, but they are a bit limiting. I will be growing primarily super hot peppers. Currently I am growing Death Spirals and Chocolates Ghosts/7 pots. Thank you for the videos!!!
I can't find anybody talking about getting rid of old stuck on dried up roots. I'm soaking the base of an old aerogarden hoping that will get rid of them making soft so I can scrub them out
I bought white Thai seeds from a trusted seller on Amazon. They happen to also sell the candlelight mutant pepper seeds of which I didn't purchase. They said there's no chance they crossed however I have several white Thai plants that are clearly mutated. Do you know if this is something that happens from time to time? They aren't long leaves like the candlelight but they are somewhat elongated and some leaves look like normal pepper leaves but appear to have Siamese characteristics. It's very odd but fascinating. I posted to pepper groups on Facebook with no real answers and searched Google high and low. Hoping you may have some insight? I want these to grow well and carry the genetics onto the next round.

I am a big fan, been growing Peppers for a long time, I built a New Raised Bed last year, I now have 3 that are 8 feet x 4 feet, and 20" tall. I want to try Cantelope and let the plants grow inside the Raised Bed and see what happens. But I want to start my seeds early using Rockwool, then double plastic cups (Bottom Feed), and then out to the Garden in April. Thanks, Keith
Basil grows nuts in a aerogarden. Mine got so thick like a tree stump I had to pull it out lol. Can you put rockwool in the baskets to start seeds or is there something else you use?

I know you grow for fun, but you should consider setting up Amazon affiliated links to the things you mention so you can at least make a little bit of money off things people buy. It doesn't cost your viewers anything, but it'll put a little change in your pocket for all your efforts. :) You should also try to get some of the companies to sponsor the stuff you use often. I'm not sure how that's done, but I think tagging them on Instagram helps.

Khang Starr i'm a huge fan. I need your advice. I've been able to grow some nice looking pepper plants but the never bear fruit. They've flowered multiple times but the flowers just die and fall off. I'm pollinating them by hand and they live in my grow tent w/lights. What am I doing wrong? Any advice is welcomed. Thanks!
Hey khang, could you help with a question? I crossed a cayenne pepper with a "havanna gold" and I am struggling with germination whereas usually I have a very good success rate just using a non heated propagator against my radiator. Any tips on different techniques I could use? I did germinate one seed but it wouldn't come out of shell and died.
@@notflanders4967 yes mate I let them slightly over mature possibly. They are very small seeds. I am using a 70-30 seedling compost to vermiculite at a guess, and every other seed I'm growing seems to be fine, eg numex twilight germinated in 5 days same with all my bell peppers and sweet pointed peppers. I'm assuming the cross was compatible as I did have one germinate out of like 8 but it wouldn't leave its seed casing. (Only being doing this 2 year)
@@shinramox1520Thats unfortunate but interesting. I hope you keep at it and are able to figure out what's going on. Maybe they are dormant but if they are near the radiator im not sure how likely that is. If a genomic conflict is in fact the culprit, then :( but i wouldn't know how to determine that.

I find it’s not the greatest for sprouting, I had a seedlings died on me because of algae, I use rock wool, then put the seedling in. I find this works best for me, and nutrients I use maxigrow works awesome
Omegawerewolfx I’ve changed my method I clean out the algae each week, my aerogarden is white. transplanted to soil, yeah I could see that being an issue, Ive transplant to kratky, DWC, and a DIY 5 Gallon bucket aerogarden. Work great 👍 actually I’ve cured smaller plants from root rot 🙂
Any Hydroponics shop can set you up with a budget set up - flood and drain systems are cheap (you can put one together yourself with a pump some pipes and fittings). My local guy builds aerogarden style systems himself and sells them at a good price. I had a 2x3 cardboard box with a couple of computer fans mounted in the sides and a small led light for starting seedlings - just grown in coco coir - or it was enough to hold 6 smaller peppers like the ones in the vid
Get yourself a little tent and a light also a fan. I use coffee containers and makey own little systems. You can drill a hole to get an air stone in there.

The Solanaceous (Solanaceae) family (tomatoes, peppers, eggplants, potatoes, tobacco, and interestingly, petunias) is also called the nightshade family named after the belladonna plant (deadly nightshade). You can eat the fruits and tubers, but the leaves, stems, and flowers are supposed to contain toxic alkaloids. Although deer can eat them just fine...

Hi Khang - For pepper growing I highly recommend adding some cal-mag (calcium magnesium supplement) You should see a big improvement! (and taste it)

Yes, you will also get a stronger plant with more side branching. - be warned it will grow outwards to some extent as well

are you letting the peppers fully ripen to allow the seed to mature? If the seeds are collected too soon they may be inviable

I've had zero issues with sprouting. My main issue is shock when transplanting, I've only lost a few over the years but still, every loss stinks.
