Ok I watched the next one right now. This really is a great build. Looks close enough to the real thing with a futuristic vibe and also functions similarily. As most excavators have more than just a bucket attachment. Im tempted to build something like this next time I play.
I will work on posting this build to the Steam workshop. Would you rather have a Vanilla version or the tank track modded version? Any other suggestions or improvements are welcome!
Really enjoying this series. You're a much better designer/engineer than me. Btw, I'm also playing with Assertive. I'm not sure if it's assertive that did it but on my first attempt I was minding myself and, apparently, reached a tech level that identified me as a serious threat. I had no armament and got obliterated by drones they sent over. So bad I had to start over as they just kept coming. This time I'm armed to the teeth.
Great video. Love survival builds. Great you did this without scripts, I always rely on the PARK script for vehicles like this. Look forward to seeing this on the workshop and if you don't upload it with tracks on I'm still going to put on tracks myself. The tracks really complete the vehicle for me.
Agreed! Tracks really do complete it. I used to get heavy into scripting, even writing my own, but I am trying to embrace the ingame controllers with this playthrough.
Please forgive if this is a double comment. Loving the series so far, keep up the work! Time lapse and camera man angles are great to have from time to time, but not needed. Personally, I enjoy hearing the build being worked out as you go along.
It looks incredible, i love it. Are you worried about picking up stone? Once you get below ground level youll start filling up with stone pretty quick, but looks like youve still got room for ejectors. The process seems like it would ideally be done from the top down with side to side sweeps considering your control scheme. Looking forward to your next videos
I'm not too worried about stone in my playthrough, I'll probably just dig to ground level to not leave potholes. As for underground mining, I don't think this will work too well as it can't point up. I will probably build something else. This is pretty much just for boulders and the fun of designing it. I will add ejectors to the workshop version, good idea!
just found your videos. great excavator. i would like to have the tracks. but i could put them on later? i am subscribed. u have a different way of building. that is what makes this game interesting. thanks
Thanks! Tracks seems to be the concensus. I do want to see if I can replace the lower pillar blocks with 1x1 wheels as the pillars made a pothole during testing.
This is a great little build have a sub!! If you wanted to edit a little more - more progress less discussion I wouldn't say no but clearly you do you. Again, you got my sub and I'm checking out the rest of your SE content.
@@EngineeredCoffee that was the option I just voted for. While I appreciate a bit of exposition and a progress check in with an occasional Timelapse somewhere in there, I should also mention that definitely do what makes you happy. Otherwise the burnout is real.
Now up on the workshop! steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3332794871

Vanilla won't look as good honestly. But a lot of people don't like modded vehicles. Maybe do both.

Yeah, next episode I want to make some defenses. Got some ideas...

Awesome build! Your giving me the itch to do a themed survival build.
Thank you, glad it inspired!
@EngineeredCoffee I'm thinking about doing a triton playthrough all ice and snow inspired though. May record it. Not sure yet
Really nice!
Cool design!

I would like to do some timelapse but I don't have a second PC. I may play around with 1.5 or 2x speed next episode to see how that looks.

Nice design- did you put a Beacon somewhere on it yet, for a drone reference point?
Sure didn't, good point! I did notice I forgot an ore detector too. It's different designing in a playthrough, thanks for the catch!
If you build this cab down instead of treads up couldn't you have all the controls for the arm on your main toolbar?
Absolutely. You could also control the arms as is from the main toolbar and just not drive until you access the remote if you want that setup.
Nice Vid what Resolution are you playing on?
3440 x 1440. I have an Alienware Oled. I should probably switch it up for recording.
@@EngineeredCoffee you dont have to i feels really cinematic i Love it
how is it that keep still havent rolled out a working tank track
Right! So many people have such great tanks on the workshop. Vanilla would be awesome!
You have a mod list?
Mod list is now in the descriptions
