Technically, the birthplace could be considered the Bronx since that style of repetitive-beat-drop dual spinning records(DJ Kool Herc) kind of started there but it turned into hip-hop in NY, then Chicago(Frankie Knuckles) took the style and turned it into house music. But either way, there's no debate that it definitely was born in the US.
got me dancing in here. i didn't even realize this was a remix of the original until about 15 years later. shame on me lol in chicago this was the only version i ever heard.
@TOUFLS1 House music was brought to Chicago by Frankie Knuckles who was a legendary DJ in New York. He and Larry Levan were very close friends. Frankie Knuckles is from the BX.....But Chicago took it to another level....Great times!!
@JREID2013 Much respect to you and Chicago ( you guys were putting out great stuff) but you were not in New York City in the late 70's and early 80's at the Loft and the Garage where Frankie Knukles from the Chicago's WareHouse was being educated in House music. The controversial term "House music" was birthed from music that wasn't heard on the radio but was from the called "House" because you could only hear it played in House. on the premises of underground dance clubs in NYC.
@TOUFLS1 That's easy, mostly Nicky Siano (The Gallery. the Inferno,Buttermilk Bottom) also Dave Mancuso (The Loft) and Larry Levan (Paradise Garage).I know... I was there but I'm not so close minded and prideful to say that it is exclusive to NYC because these "House vibes" were simultaneous and were evolving out of many different forms of music namely disco, funk, jazz funk, gospel, hiphop, latin and reggae, braziliian influences,techno..etc.. Peace.
Chicago House at it's finest. Chicago is birthplace for house never forget it.
Nah Grimsby is the home oh House
@@ComradDave No, it's definitely Chicago
