As a very anxious person due to a bad upbringing Lucky girl syndrome actually helped me a lot. I’m a huge pessimist and this brought back a hint of positivity back to my life.
I've come to understand lucky girl syndrome completely different. To me, believing I'm lucky means that whatever happens (or doesnt happen) is ultimately in my favor. for example, I might want a job opportunity, but if I dont get it I view it as being redirected to opportunities I'm actually aligned with. I still have to put in the work, but I can trust that everything that happens (that is outside of my control) is working out for me.
I definitely like this explanation. Lucky Girl helps people dip their toes in the water but they need to understand to do the work. I know people that will just say “well pray on it and see what happens!” And that makes me SO MAD! But I also had another friend that followed it up and said “God can move mountains, but YOU have to bring the shovel!” And that is what I I was thinking of when you were talking. I can keep saying oh yeah I’m so lucky! 💁🏼♀️ But if I don’t take any action I am the bad type of delusional. Thanks for all your content!
@@samiraport Yes! That works just as much! I’ve been struggling with changing jobs or career paths and people telling me to constantly pray or say have the mindset of be a lucky girl doesn’t help. A job interview will not fall in my lap if I don’t put a resume out there or know what I want to do. I mean there are rare occasions that people say “hey I heard you’re looking for a new job & my friend is hiring. You’d be perfect, let me give them your number!” That is a rare RARE case so I’m not holding my breath and I think most people assume it should work that way. Until it starts happening I’m going to run for the bus because if I miss it, I only have myself to blame.
I’m a very anxious person and these “trends” always make me overthink SO much. I’m always questioning if I’m doing things “right” and questioning if I’m living to my potential. I drive myself cray

Girl, I’m a TH-cam fan of your - found you here and this is where I mainly consume your content. On TikTok I saw all that tarte mess and just wanted to say I’m proud of you and rocking with you! Hope TH-cam can be a safe space.
I love this. That small detail can make a huge difference when you are a “beginner” in terms of practicing a healthy mindset. Because it’s all good when you’re at your “peak” but we all have to understand that there will always be a low that comes along the way. So it’s important to have some strong “tools” (mindset, words, energy) to carry us through. Bria, I absolutely love your channel. I know it’s cliche and you probably get this all the time but you have been instrumental in my journey over the last month. So much of what you share, I’m literally living. I like how you talked about putting in the work to get what you want, I think that when it comes to this conversation there’s a little bit of “luck” for things that we can’t control but there’s also rewards that we get for the work that we put into things.
100%....so many good nuggets to take away from this. ❤ For me, I like to think I've been chosen for this path and I'm blessed to be here creating it and living it out on the daily no matter the challenge I may meet along the way. Life is too short for too many. Embrace the day and live life because we are the ones in control of writing our future and living in our destiny. You're so amazing! Thank you for these reminders.
I knew I was drawn to this "lucky girl syndrome" trend yet it just didn't completely resonate with me, I knew there was something missing but I couldn't connect the dots. This video has brought me clarity in my perspective. Thank you Bria for your existence!
so needed this right now, i'm currently on the wait to hear back from a landlord if me and my partner get this house we've been seeing and I've been on edge thinking its not likely we'll get it but we SERIOUSLY want it, so like just the term "We already have it" just helps a lot already - otherwise if we don't get it, just wasn't meant to be and the universe is directing us to somewhere else better thank you as always bri and have a fab weekend queen
I get where you’re coming from. I also believe these trends/mindset are such a privileged way of thinking and I wish more people would speak on that. I look around the world and see how awful so many are living. A girl in Afghanistan who is no longer allowed to go enjoy a day at a park or listen to music or show her face or drive or wear color b/c all these things are now illegal in her country cannot just believe freedom into existence. There’s so much more at play. I don’t believe her current situation has anything to do with what’s on the inside but it’s simply the cards she was dealt. I’ve always had a personal testimony of being lucky, blessed , highly favored whatever you want to call it. But the more I reflect the more I realize most of this was b/c I was born a free woman to a decent family in a wealthy, developed nation with infinite resources.
You are really right Bria 🙏🏾 I’ll not call it luck I’ll say I’m blessed because at the same time I can work so hard and smart and still not get what I’m working for maybe cus it wasn’t meant for me or it’s not time yet. So it’s a blessing to get what I have cuz others are also working as hard but don’t yet have what they are working for
Bria , I’ve always watched your videos. But I have watched them more now then ever. I am looking to change my mindset and I will change it. Thank you so much for fighting for those and yourself for the people who have anxiety and you have showed us that we and you can over come that and still win! I love you and your videos , will never stop watching them… but can we please get a videos on you updated makeup routine . I’m really feeling your makeup no makeup look.
6:50 omg Yes!! I’m so glad she said this, and everything else in this video. Something about Lucky Girl Syndrome just didn’t sit right with me and this was one of the reasons. Nobody is lucky 100% of the time, so how do we explain the times when we’re not lucky
Totally agree with you ! However, I love the word lucky, because that's what people say to me when I attract what I want: Ah, you're so lucky! 😎 I agree also with the fact that these positive affirmations don't help you when you are in the lower part of the emotional scale. I'm an Abe follower, that explains a lot... ☺
Love this!!🔥 Raising your own frequency to match all the amazing things & their frequencies to receive them in return🔥🔥 no small chance or luck if you match what you want!
It's interesting how the definition of luck can vary for us. I'm a recovering addict. I was using IV heroin and fentanyl and smoking crack for many years. I used to "get lucky" all the time. So much so my nickname was Miss Kitty because I had 9 lives. I'm just going to list a few of the ways I got lucky back then (and I absolutely did think I was super lucky) - an undercover cop & bondsman banging on my motel room door after they watched me cop from my dealer in the parking lot. They said they were DEA at first and so I hid my drugs and then answered the door. Turns out, they were looking for a girl who looked like me and thought I was her. The bondsman was good friends with my girl friend who sold and did oxy's. He would let ppl pay him in drugs. The undercover didn't care about us being escorts or the drugs we bought. He just asked if he could see our asses and then they left. - I always had warrants out for my arrest but I would give the cops my ex sister in laws name and dob and address bc we looked similar enough. This got me off w a warning for whatever it was bc she has a clean record every single time - stealing tv's from Walmart, getting arrested later that night when I turned myself in, ordered to pay restitution over the next 2 years. Went to court 2 years later and the ppl who were supposed to be collecting my restitution I never paid towards stop calling the people at the court back and my case was dismissed. - I would often shoot up in a hot bath so I could find a vein easier. My bf often found me just as my nose was hitting the water. - my bf called the police behind my back and told them I had a warrant and that I was going to die! They said they would come get me on a Friday but never came. - months later in April 2019 my bf called my PO told her where I was and said again she's going to die you need to pick her up! So my PO and the cops came and got me and it turns out when I got to jail that night that I was pregnant! 2 weeks later at the OB in the prison I found out I was only 8 weeks along. And thank god bf of course I had been using not knowing I was pregnant (I already wasn't getting my period too often so it wasn't weird for me to miss) and I've been sober now since July 2019 and my son is my world! He's 3.5 and saved my life for sure! There are so many examples of times I got lucky during my drug days including stealing from my job at a pharmacy and never being caught, overdosing in a target parking lot and someone finding us just in time.. i really could go on and on and on!
A-freaking-men to this. Love your take on this. Have you ever read Napoleon Hill's "Outwitting the Devil"?
