7:17 - 7:25 range: My favorite movie of all time. I saw that movie at the theater while I was on vacation in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. It was at a theater inside a mall too. The mall is called Myrtle Beach Mall. I know it best as the "Colonial Mall." Today though, It's really empty now with just a few stores in it. "Coastal Grand Mall" is the most popular mall today in Myrtle Beach.
It was an OK mall that was convenient for the citizens there so they didn't have to go all the way to Del Amo or the South Bay Center. After those other malls were rebuilt and expanded,Hawthorne Mall started to decline.
🍿 it’s a shame that the small is sitting here empty they could build something really nice residential, really cool, stores, movie, theater etc. I remember going to the Hawthorne six to see the bad news Bears yes in the 70s! I remember shopping there I remember getting the good popcorn because that was a novelty back in those days and it was hot and delicious! Thank you for taking me down memory lane. This was fun! Hope to see them do something really cool with it! 🤞🏽
Thank you Eric for another Mall Madness Video!.😎
Thanks for the video ..I can remember spending so many weekends at the Hawthorne Mall during the 80’s playing video games at Electronic America !!

Cool video! Crazy Hawthorne’s been abandoned for 25 years now. Also, video recommendation: Bellevue Center in Nashville TN.
thanks for the suggestion
Speaking of Security Pacific Bank. Do you do stories on banks?
I have done Washington Mutual.
What about Westfield Hawthorne Center in Vernon Hills, Illinois? It needs its own Mall Monday Do You Remember video!
Unlike the original Long Beach Plaza (very similar) from the same time period-- Hawthorne Plaza's exterior still stands.
