Whoever "replaced" the valve cover gaskets in my 01 literally just beaded it with silicone, it's pooring out the seams, and leaking. Now i have to cleanup their sloppy seconds. This video is a blessing.

This is what I have to do to my 1998 Grand Vitara V6. I believe I have a blown valve cover gasket. I'm still trying to decide if I can do this job myself or take it to a mechanic? Taking things apart seems like no problem. Taking things apart without breaking anything.... then putting it all back together correctly...that's what I'm less confident about. Thanks for the video.
Be careful with the hoses. I accidentally broke a $100 part because the plastic was old and I was trying to get a hose off. Be careful with how tight you get certain bolts as well. If you can there are Suzuki manuals online and specifically one that you can rent for 24 hours listed from the Suzuki website. Very helpful with torque specs and such. I want to try this one too because I have an oil leak around this gasket.

Is this the same process for the 2.5 liter v6? I don’t own the xl-7 but I’m fairly positive the gasket is bad on mine. Also, do I need to/should I replace both sides? Or is it acceptable to do just the one side?
Yes it is, it is not a 2.7 he made a mistake, its the 2.5 V6.

He said - it is necessary to unscrew the wiring harness, and the back of the manifold with the throttle valve pull back to pull out the fuel injector ramp.

I replaced my fuel injectors and waiting to replace fuel regulator but i have a gas leak on drivee side leaking like sprinkler system on my muffler to my exhaust and i have no clue i replaced o rings on

Really? The intake has to come off? I've convinced myself that there is enough clearance to lift the covers up and slip the gaskets under without removing the manifold. The gaskets are due here next week. I'll let you know how it goes.

Intake HAS to come off if u say it don't post a video or I will never belive it but remove pcv valve on driver side or it will break and slide in valve cover I promise you

It got too cold here in British Columbia Canada to do the job. But I guess from the comments it can't be done without removing the manifold. It's warmed up now so I'll be attacking the job shortly.
I got smoke smells like burning oil on passenger side rearvengine could this be from leaking gaskets
