  • An elaborate state funeral is Britain’s final tribute to Queen Elizabeth II, featuring a service at the 13th century Westminster Abbey, where her coronation took place almost 70 years ago, and a procession led by King Charles III through the crowd-lined streets of central London.
Almost 2,000 guests are attending - among them more than 90 world leaders, representatives from dozens of royal families and members of the House of Windsor,
After the funeral, the coffin will go to Windsor Castle where the Queen will be buried next to her late husband, Prince Philip, at St. George’s Chapel.
The Post’s Libby Casey will anchor live coverage of the Queen’s funeral along with James Hohmann, Rhonda Colvin and Sarah Hewson live in London. Hannah Jewell and Lee Powell will be at Westminster Abbey and Windsor Castle. Autumn Brewington, Mary Jordan, Jennifer Hassan, Frances Stead Sellers and Karla Adam will provide analysis and insight. Although I'm American, I'm of English, Welsh, Irish, Scottish descent, so have always felt connected to Her Majesty and the people of the UK. She has been my queen also. Spectacular crescendo as the procession marches down the final straight of a long long journey, carrying her Royal Majesty to her final resting place, to the sound of bag pipes, the bass drumbeat, the rat-a-tat of drummers, the footsteps, the artillery firing, the bells ringing - truly awe inspiring... and you Muppets completely ruined the experience by talking right the way thru it! The most watched event, ever witnessed by mankind, that is in the entirety of human history. 🤯
Over 5 Billion human beings heard the message, the word of Jesus Christ - proclaimed from a thousand year old Abbey Church. In the mother language of all modern humanity, east and west.
This Abbey being The place where, every single monarch has been crowned and anointed, since 1066 A.D. The Arch Bishop through apostolic succession as a direct successor to St. Peter. Proclaimed the gospel to all the nations. This funeral allowed the fulfilment of biblical prophecy some may say.
As a 🇬🇧 myself I’m so humbled and proud of all the warm loving and kind words expressed by people of all nations especially our big cousins in America. Touching stuff. I couldn’t be more proud of my country and my late Queen. The nation collectively did her proud. A fitting send off to one of the most remarkable ladies to have ever graced the earth.

None of these would've happen. (The man hours, money and preparation). Keep in mind in order to pull this MASSIVE ceremony together is incredible! And all it took was these people giving their oat and keeping their "word" for the Crown. If an alien tried to understand this. They probably couldn't. The bond is not physical but mystical.

Why can't the commentry team just be quiet some of the time, like when the coffin emerges from Westminster Hall? They just chat like they are at a baseball match instead of being silent, which would be a much more powerful thing to do. The BBC's coverage had a lot of silence from the commentry team and worked better for that reason.

I could remember Woody.EXE looking at my funeral arrangements overnight whilst he visited me his Queen in hospital that February 2023 and signed them as Wales’s monarch because he cares about his beloved Queen so much. 7 months later, I found out Huw Edwards was accused of something and as Queen, I was deeply shocked to hear

So frustrating that you talk the entire way through and we can't hear the beautiful music and be drawn into the moment. Not only the constant yapping but going on and on about Prince Andrew and Harry, seriously? Read the room. This is about the Queen and honoring her legacy. I'm sure she'd be thrilled to know that American idiots would be ignoring her legacy and instead ranting about her family's woes during her funeral. Those two have had enough airtime to last a lifetime, can the Queen not have this one day? Who thought this was a good idea?

But I turned this off after hearing the comment about Prince Andrew and all his accusations, and the man who commented on the pettiness streak in Charles’s past, then they zoomed in on a man who is so forlorn with grief.

I do appreciate the work done by these presenters, but I can't help comparing this coverage with the one done by the BBC, which was presented very soberly, with commentators speaking only when necessary and in the appropriate moments, while the commentators on this WP special seemed unable to stop talking practically all the time, often with vapid comments and very frequently needlessly describing what could be seen on screen, bad habit from the times of radio broadcasts. I was almost shocked with relief that the two minute moment of silence wasn't interrupted by some unnecessary yakking. But after all a good special.

I'm American and imo, it really baffles me during a British Monarchs Funeral. Youre discussing people's character and their behavior all while they are mourning a monarch and their family members death. Done in such bad taste. You discussed how they treated certain members of this family when you dont truly know the whole story. Well, perhaps you believe all what Harry has said. His truth is not the whole truth. What Harry has stated about his family is only one side. There are 2 sides to every story. Isnt that what true journalism is? However, you already decided who and what is truth according to the fallen Prince who couldn't have it both ways. Perhaps if you all knew what you know now about PHarry and his wife, you may of held your personal thoughts to yourself and let the spectators mourn with the family and their countrymen. .

I'm making an observation here, after watching a number of TH-cam channels TV coverage posted on here of the Queen's funeral, and also at the risk of annoying a lot of people on here, I'm asking the following.
What is this obsession with news channels and the constant need to talk nearly non-stop through it all, when you can see quite clearly what's taking place with this being a global event, watched by over 4 BILLION people! Are people really unable to comprehend what's happening, and why do you, and others too, always feel the need to constantly talk over the top of things?
Do viewers really need "hand holding" all the way through this, with the constant barrage of waffling!? If so then it really does beggar belief! This was a solemn occassion and it was trashed with constant waffling. Repeatedly, by a good number of channels
As the saying goes: If a picture paints a thousand words... Then why talk over it all!?
Take note from the BBC coverage, they chose the time to make a comment, and to talk to people about the unfolding events, and let the images tell the story
As they say, less is more.

9:48.......the unmistakable frame of Garrison Sergeant Major Andrew 'Vern' Stokes. He was in charge of organising the ceremonial/military aspect of the Queen's Funeral, and his role later in the King's Coronation - he received an OBE from the King earlier in June as recognition for his service during those events! He had to ensure everything from the military ceremony perspective was perfect. GSM's and RSM's are pretty much next to 'God' in British Army hierarchy, despite not being commissioned officers aha!! They command immense respect from those beneath and above, for their experience and dedication!!
