    No Affiliated Code for the DOF in your description?

      Hi, ya DOF Reality asked us to take it down because it was being searched on Google without people actually watching the video. The good news is we will have a new code on our new video that will be out this week. Stay tuned and the new code will be available for you then. We may periodically have to change it down the road, but there should always be a good one in our latest DOF Reality videos that we release. Sorry for the delay but thanks for the comment.

      I suggest editing your video to remove the part where you mention the promo code in the descriptions (12:20). This comment makes the entire video appear less reliable. I watched another video where the creator placed the promo code at the end, and I followed suit by ordering the H3 using his code that gave me a five percent discount.

    Hey Mark, thanks for another informative and enjoyable video!
    I recently pulled the trigger on a P6 (in transit as we speak). I read a lot about the cogging issue in flight sims, so I am very interested in your comments once you have the no-cogging mod installed!
    Best regards from Frankfurt!

    • @GYGOtv
      @GYGOtv  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Congrats on your purchase! So the "cogging" is an issue that has been a problem forever. It is due to torque ripple in the motors so that new mod does seem to fix that. One issue that might be occurring with that fix however is that the movement might be slowed down now, so I need to do more research. Now I do have the motors sitting in the house right now, but I have to find a good solution for the flanges because I really don't want to destroy my original ones. Honestly for me, the cogging doesn't really bother me because I use my Buttkicker 2 to "mask" that feeling. With the engine rumbling I hardly notice the cogging (cogging only happens on slow movements). Now for some people it REALLY bothers them and the Buttkicker doesn't help... but I also kind of think this is becoming the "topic of the hour" and it is kind of that bandwagon effect going on. Anyway, I'd be interested to hear what you think when you get yours all up and running. Let me know how you feel about the cogging and your P6 experience overall! Thanks for watching!

    Hey man, great video once again.
    I got my P3 with SFU since July this year and simply love the rig.
    Got the honeycomb plate and have a QR4rigs plate to be able to quickly exchange the yoke with my current Fanatec DD Pro. Love that combination.
    Recently exchanged my pedals with Simagic P1000i with hydraulic brake and shakers per pedal. Awesome stuff.
    I had before a 50W shaker under the footplate and 1 under the seat. Last weekend moved them both to the complete back which helped me in getting it perfectly balanced as well as the Simagic pedals are heavier.
    Using also the WitMotion sensor as I only fly/race in VR and it is just awesome.
    The only thing I did as well is putting some grease nippels on the blocks of the SFU (pre-treaded 6mm) just to have some lubricant (acid free grease) for the SFU’s and works like a charm. The other thing is that on regular basis I check the bolts of the mounting stuff. Now and then I require to tighten them up. Actually the mounting base of the Yaw motor I had to use Loctite on the bolts.
    Other than that (and to be honest, I think it is part of the entertainment value to me) it is plain awesome….just like you said.
    Keep them coming m8, kudo’s

    • @GYGOtv
      @GYGOtv  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you for such an awesome comment Lucas_Pit! That is an impressive list of upgrades and I'm glad you are enjoying it so much!!! I'm right there with you! Good job checking your bolts from time to time, we just found a lose sensor bolt on my rig so it is very important to do that check every now and then (I probably do it every 3 months or so, and visually check everything all the time).
      I have been thinking about doing the QR4rigs upgrade for my pedals so I can get some more realistic racing pedals. I just haven't been doing much racing lately so I'm kind of waiting to buy new gear until I get heavily back into it... So what do you think of the P1000i? I'm leaning toward Simmagic for the DD wheel and new pedals. I also didn't hear you mention a wind kit, and you certainly need one of those if you are racing!

    • @Lucas_Pit
      @Lucas_Pit 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@GYGOtv Did not have much experience yet with the P1000i but so far it has been great. I use mainly iRacing and there is 1 pitfall. There is no direct integration (yet) for the TC on the throttle pedal. The ABS is amazing though. It kicks in exactly at the right time to back off a little. My first impression is that it made me slightly faster even but as mentioned not yet enough hours into it to make a final judgement. I heard on discord people complaining about the throttle being too soft but to be honest, I’m perfectly fine with it. I’m indeed also eyeballing the Alpha but I’ll wait until QR4rigs got the plate for it, he is working on them. Not sure yet if it is going to be the Alpha or the Alpha U though, still in deciding process ;)
      The wind add-on is something I gotta look into indeed. Not only for immersion but also to keep cool in VR is quite helpful

    Why haven't I seen this channel before?
    I ran through some of your motion-rig content and alot of the stuff you talk about is great info that I've been seeking for a while now, lol!
    Got yourself a new sub!
    Personally I'm running a H3 DOF Reality and I might be looking into upgrading it to a H6 sometime next year, though I mostly use the rig for car related racing but want to get into some flying simulation and I feel like the H6/P6 would make a better experience for flying.
    As you mention in one of your videos, I also regret not spending a little bit more money on getting the P-series from the get go, the H-series is fine but those degrees man, they're valuable lol!

    • @GYGOtv
      @GYGOtv  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Welcome to the channel DusttwoDust! Thank you so much for the Sub as well, I'm glad you found us. SO just to start off, be glad you bought the H Series at this point. With the new SFU Gears, you gain those 2 extra degrees so the only benefit to the P-Series now is that it can run a lot longer (as in for commercial Arcade use, etc.). So if you haven't upgraded to SFU Gears yet, put that on your list. So actually the H6 would also bring a lot to your racing experiences too. Those extra Degrees of Freedom really add a lot to racing as in when you slide and hit a guardrail/wall you get that side sway impact. I love the Heave (up and down) for road texture and cracks in the pavement etc. and the Surge adds that little something when accelerating and decelerating. It's funny because Jeff Weaver and I got into a big discussion on which motion sim is right for racing vs. flying while we were playing 7 Days to Die on our livestream. If you don't know, Jeff is the guy who makes all the default tunings for Sim Racing Studio, so he is probably the most knowledgeable person on the planet when it comes to how to make the DOF Reality systems move. Anyway, here is the link to that video if you haven't seen it yet th-cam.com/video/lsPbbYEy95s/w-d-xo.html In that same video we talk about how flight sim can be pretty amazing in an H3, so don't wait to try it... jump in and get flying even if you don't have the H6. I might also highly recommend Elite Dangerous if you like Space Sims. It is one of my absolute favorites for the Motion Platform. Anyway, thank again for the comment and please feel free to ask any other questions you might have... and remember to... Get Your Game On!!! :)

    • @DusttwoDust
      @DusttwoDust 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@GYGOtv Appreciate the quick response!
      Alright, I might need to think about upgrading then because in that case, I'd need the H3->H6 upgrade kit plus the SFU gearbox upgrades (x6), is that correct?
      That'll set me back, yikes!
      Would you recommend the H3->H6 upgrade over upgrading only the (x3) gearboxes for the H3 setup?
      I also have to take into account the footprint and the overall space around me for movement, my setup is currently in a closet lol.
      I'm in no hurry to upgrade yet though as I absolutely love my H3 as is with the "traction loss" aka yaw motion while rallying in Dirt Rally 2.0, it's an absolute amazing experience and gives some sense of more control! I was actually considering the H2 at first but today I'm super glad I didn't go too cheap with it.
      It's amazing with my latest upgrade; Fanatec DD + pedals + H gear box + handbrake and an additional thrustmaster for sequential shifting.
      But I'll admit I miss the heave motion sometimes, I can only imagine what that brings into the equation!
      As for the Elite Dangerous recomendation, I got really involved with that game when I got my first HTC Vive VR headset (I was an early adopter into the VR concept) back in 2015/2016 and got a set of Saitek X52 flight sticks with it and had an absolute blast for many months. Might be a good time to re-visit the game with the new additional gear :)
      On the topic of flight sticks, may I ask what mounts you went with for the flight sticks? I recently considered ordering a set but I'm a very handy guy so I feel like I would be able to get something of my own put together but I'm curious about some ideas on how to go about it.
      Ideally the mounts would be some sort of snap on / snap off system for easy mounting and dismounting when I focus on rallying.
      I'll check out the video!
      Thanks!

    Great video! Subscribed. I have a profile rig already so do they offer only a motion solution? I looked at their website but I could only find complete rigs. I'm trying to decide between the DOF reality p6 and the Sigma DK2+

    • @GYGOtv
      @GYGOtv  19 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Thanks for the Sub Mika! So generally no you don't put your profile rig on a DOF Platform, but some creative folks have done it... the problem is the weight because the more weight the slower and harder it is to move. That is why DOF only does full rigs because it takes all that into consideration. SO my big question for you is are you mainly flying or racing? Those actuators are only 50mm from what I can see and that really isn't much. Most rigs use at least 100mm if not 150mm. Also, you are going to be limited to only roll, pitch and heave with that unit from what I can tell. The P6 is going to get you all 6 Degree's of Freedom. If you really want to go with an actuator system, might I suggest the PT Actuator rig... www.pt-actuator.com/product/champion-gt/ It is about the same price and has 100mm of travel. Also, if you are interested this is a topic that Jeff Weaver and I discussed in detail during one of our gaming livestreams. You can check it out here if you want to know more th-cam.com/video/lsPbbYEy95s/w-d-xo.html Also if you have any other questions, just let me know and I'll do my best to answer for you. • @GYGOtv
      @GYGOtv  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That is so funny you mention that platform, I've actually looked at that in the past. The motion looks amazing, my concerns are with the size (need some space for sure) and also looks a little more difficult to get into because of that size. Also, looked like lots of parts are 3D printed, so I still worry a little about durability but that will work itself out as people use is for longer. One thing to also keep in mind is that with the larger cylinders for movement comes the possibility it might be very jerky with off the shelf games because of the telemetry. I briefly tried to find some specs on it but they were not popping right up so I'd like to know more if you have a better link to the actual specs. Thanks for the question and for watching!

    Hello, thank you, congratulations on the channel.
    I wanted to ask 2 questions related to DOF Reality.
    I went to France to try out the Prosimu 5m simulator.
    I'm setting up a small project and I intend to purchase 2 simulators and I'm determined to buy the DOF Reality ones because for the value and the reviews it's rational. My issue is that I haven't tried them and I'm afraid that they could cause problems in the long term.
    The other issue is that I'm encountering some difficulties with the purchase, I'm not feeling very confident in the way it works and I'm worried about falling for a scam.
    Can you provide me with some more information that might help me better understand what I'm getting myself into.

      Absolutely happy to help as much as I can. SO my big questions is what are you mainly planning on doing (flight or racing)? Also what is your budget? Are you looking for the most affordable alternative or are you looking for the best experience alternative? Also what did you think of the ProsimU? As for issues, I've had mine for almost 3 years, we have had to do some basic maintenance on it, and as I'm sure you've seen on the channel we have done lots of modifications as well but overall it has been great. As for ordering, go directly to the DOF Realilty website (and a hint if you put the code from our latest video in there at checkout it will save you 5% and help us out here at GYGO too). Please answer the above questions and we will see if we can find you the best option for your use case. Thanks for the comment.

    Bought the P3 a couple of months ago with all the new features really pleased with my unit, i may upgrade sometime in the future to the P6.
    All this kit is expensive, however compared to other motion solutions, well I could never justify or find 50 000 dollars not unless I won the lottery.
    Thanks for your channel really informative and interesting.
    I Don't use it for car racing, only flightsim, unfortunately it's to realistic for me as I get motion sickness in these games , this also happened when I had a day karting a few years ago in the real world.

      Thanks for the comment julianhall, I'm glad to hear you are happy with your purchase. So the yoke and rudder pedals will certainly add to your experience. I'd also recommend a Buttkicker or other SRS Shaker Kit, adding transducers made a giant leap for me in immersion as well. For flight I'd say you are good with the P3 for awhile. You end up losing some of the overall pitch and roll (unless you are an idiot like me and modify that motion back into the H6) so the P3 should do you just fine. I will say when you do eventually upgrade, having heave so you can feel the landings REALLY ADDS a lot too. So enjoy your new toys and thanks for watching!

    • @GYGOtv
      @GYGOtv  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No I don't have a good E Stop for my system... it still settles. What DOF Reality did on the new units was solid mount the motors now and use Cardan Joints (basically U-Joints) to handle the SFU Gearboxes. That let them put a proper Ebrake on the motor so all the new ones stop immediately like they should. Now that is a great question and Jeff Weaver and I discussed this topic at length during one of my livestreams ( th-cam.com/video/lsPbbYEy95s/w-d-xo.html) if you are interested. The TLDW version is yes you can get a great experience out of the H3, in fact the pitch and roll is slightly higher than on the H6 so it is even better for those Degrees of Freedom. The biggest thing you give up in my opinion is the Heave, which lets you feel the ground when you land, and lets you feel the runway as you are running down it for take off. Going from bumpy ground to smooth flight is an awesome experience. I also personally really like the surge (especially for carrier launches and landings, but probably not as big a deal for GA. Additionally, the best thing about the H3 is that you can eventually upgrade it to the H6 if you want to start smaller. I would recommend getting either a Buttkicker 2 or SRS Shaker 6 kit either way because there is some "cogging" or unsmooth movement when doing slow turns and the transducers mask that for me. Anyway, I highly recommend you watch the linked video and I think that will give you more info on this topic. Thanks for asking!

    Hi! I don’t really know in which video I should post this question, so I will go with this equipment one:)
    A while ago I was doing buyers research on racing equipment and in the end decided, I won’t buy in, because it is just too much money for a very specialized equipment that I won’t be able to use for anything else.
    With that said, I started to play Warthunder a while ago and now I am starting to look into flying equipment:) It is the same issue as with racing equipment and the only thing those two have in common are pedals!
    So my question is, is it possible to buy pedals that would be suitable for both racing and flying? I know how good racing pedals are supposed to look, but I don’t know if they would be suitable for flying as well and I don’t want to end up in situation where they would feel nice for racing, but terrible for flying or vice versa. I also figured, I could use pedals as simple buttons for other stuff as well. Sort of like extra buttons on a mouse :)
    What are your thoughts on this? I see that you are into various simulators both ground and air, so I would like to know, what you have to say about this:)

    • @GYGOtv
      @GYGOtv  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi and thanks for the question. Sorry for the delay I didn't see this one in the notifications until now. So I really think it comes down to if you plan to do more racing or more flying. I chose the CH Pro Pedals amzn.to/3JpqzKY because you can easily put the chocks in to keep them from sliding and thus you only have the pivot from the toe brakes which you can use as throttle and brake th-cam.com/video/zlGQ3N_1LAg/w-d-xo.html Of course, with it pivoting it doesn't quite match a real car, but it is close enough for me. If you are more into racing, you could get a set of basic pedals like these fanatec.com/us-en/pedals/csl-pedals and use them for rudder control, but of course you lose the toe brakes on the aircraft. There is no perfect solution, but if you are willing to compromise you can find something that will be good enough for you. I hope that helps and let me know if you have any other questions.

    How does this handle things like ASW, motion reprojection/smoothing etc. in vr? Since the game would be refreshed at 45hz instead of 90hz for example, does that change the way the motion simulator moves because its getting half the data now? (That last part is an assumption on my part)

    • @GYGOtv
      @GYGOtv  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That really is a great question, I haven't had that asked before so thanks AndrewDaniele87. From my understanding the motion isn't affected by motion reprojection as the telemetry for movement is a separate data pack from any video output. In practice I've never had an issue with smoothing affecting the motion. In a worse case scenario if the game lags too hard, you might get thrown to a neutral position in the rig until the lag goes away but honestly I have rarely had this issue (and it is usually caused by some background operation running that I didn't know about... like a Windows update or something). 99% of the time the motion is just fine. I'll follow up with Jeff Weaver and make sure my understanding is correct, and if I'm wrong I'll post an update here.

I don't really have any easy solutions... what I did think about was maybe hinging the front mounts so you could swing it out of the way and then pull it in and lock it in place? Also, a smaller seat would allow more room... but then you have a smaller seat LOL. There may possibly also be a way to add a swivel to the seat so you could turn it sideways to get in and rotate once there (kind of like an RV). Of course none of this will be easy. What I might recommend to you is go to the DOF Reality Builder's Facebook Group facebook.com/groups/1858593921047822 (if you haven't yet). Well I didn't mention it mostly because I was going back to the ones I originally looked at in 2021 and it didn't exist then, but I certainly understand why you would ask. So for the record I have not used a Yaw2 so this is just my observations. The biggest issue I have is that you really are only getting 3 dof for about the same price as you can get an H6 (6 dof) with the DOF Reality. Also, one of the biggest "strengths" of the Yaw is its ability to rotate 360 degrees... and to be honest that is one of the least useful degrees of motion there is IMO. The other big strength is it's ability to pitch so far back (which IS a big plus because that is the axis that I think matters the most in flight), BUT it doesn't look like the pitch down is very much in comparison. Lastly, I don't see a really easy way to get in and out of the Yaw2 if you have all your HOTAS and controllers attached so that bothers me as well. What I can say is I was intrigued by them when they said they were working on a heave module th-cam.com/video/lgEHtezQ4Z8/w-d-xo.html and if that ever gets done I may try to test one out because with heave (for landings), it might be a good option for flight sim... but as it stands right now I think the DOF Reality is a better option. Just FYI... if motion comp doesn't work it just slides you in and out of the cockpit as you move around in the rig... what your describing sounds more like headset tracking. Make sure the camera's are clean on the headset. Are you using any additional LED lighting (other than your dashboard), that can interfere with the sensors too. You just need enough light to see objects in the room so that isn't very critical. It could possibly help to have the controllers sitting on a table or something in front of you just as an addition anchor point for the headset. Also, make sure the firmware on the G2 is up to date... they did several tracking improvements over the years. So give that a shot and see what happens. I can justify that price all day long and I can tell you I'd buy mine again in a heartbeat. Other reviewers feel the same too so it is not just me. Of course everyone has to make their own judgement on this... but I can tell you the immersion you gain from a motion platform is priceless to me and I can't imagine simming without it. Thanks for the comment.

    I'm in purchasing hell atm. Don't know which motion platform to get. Want the DOF 6, but I'm in the UK, and all the Tax, shipping etc is so confusing.

      @GYGOtv  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Sorry to hear that, don't know much about U.K. taxes but shipping should show up on the order form once you fill in where you live. I'm guessing around $500 because the H6 is heavy. Are there any other constraints you are worried about? One thing to remember, prices probably won't be going down and with my code you will save some money too. Let me know what else I can do to help you with your decision.

    $100,000 for a sim is insane. You could pay for flight school, gas, and more with that amount of money......

      I know right!!! I thought $50,000 was bad 2 years ago... talk about inflation. To be honest, those simulators are not aimed at home users as their target market. They promote them to industry and for commercial use... but still. Thanks for watching!

      While I sorta agree...I also have medical history that legally prevents me from ever getting a pilot's license, for example. Sim, in and of itself, is a passion for some. For most of us, it is a portal to things we could never do in real life. Even car racing is $$$$ in real life.

      @@r.g.harman6856Sorry to hear that, this certainly is a great alternative but you could get a very good motion platform for much less than $100,000 that would still allow you to get that great experience and keep some money in the bank. @@GYGOtv For sure; I was just trying to point out that even at the highest levels, sim experiences are a often still a cheaper way to live out our fantasies. And sometimes the only way.

      LOL VR_Aviator, Ok so you have to play the long game on this one :) Get your better half started with flying or racing and then get to the point you say "honey, wouldn't it be great if this felt more real?" You start off with the H2 (less than $2k) and then you can work your way up. Just for the record I am not a marriage counselor so any advice given here should be taken with a grain of salt. DOFREALITY's platform is decent but the cogging/jittering in flight sims breaks the immersion! In ordered to fix that you have to replace their motors with ones with a reduction gear setup. So add a few hundred US to thos prices. Also thier shipping is really expensive.

    • @GYGOtv
      @GYGOtv  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks for the comment HeliNut4Life. Yes that has been an issue forever but it seems to bother some more than others. For me, adding my Buttkicker 2 to my rig basically masks out the cogging that you talk about, so it really doesn't bother me very much but of course others it bothers a lot. The problem with the new motor solution is it might be reducing the movement speed so you will need to decide between quickness of motion vs. smoothness, but at least you now have a choice. BTW my motors are already sitting in my house, I just need to come up with a good adapter solution because I don't really want to destroy my old flanges from the old gearboxes. I still will trade any cogging for half the price and more overall movement out of my rig. Thanks for watching!

      The geared motors are just as fast if not faster than the oiriginal motors. You just have tune for them as has always been the case. You don't have to choose one or the other.@@GYGOtv
