Oh maaaan 😢 This game has been the Greatest love letter to Fighting games. The developers were so immensely talented and the characters were a love letter to the original characters as well as the fans. Guilty Gear, Tekken, Street Fighter 5 and 6 some of my favourite collabs in a mobile game. The reset time for me is at 6am I wake up do my dailies while getting my kids ready for school and out the door. KOFAS is the first thing I do everyday and I am sad to see it go. Thank you Forgo for your time and investment into this game and for sticking with it through the ups and downs all these years.
Proud to have been one of the first KOFAS TH-camrs and to have stood out when in KOFAS you didn't need memories, plugins or other things to complete events, when before you only needed a character and special card. It really makes me sad how they ruined this game just by releasing such unbalanced characters, adding more complexity to the character building when it wasn't necessary. They had outdated game modes that could be used such as Team relay dungeon, Dungeon trails... anyway. It was a great game

I guess their plan was to milk it whilst it was hot and then drop the hot bomb off once its mission was accomplished. Something netmarble sure as hell achieved. I have banned all netmarble games. The games NM come up with are high in quality but they never work on its gameplay and always prioritize revenue too much over quality. This shit happened for Marvel Future Revolutions too. KOFAS 5 years, NM employees are opening champagnes if you ask me...

But if the game mechanics or storyline content is not progressive or fresh that it goes to hell very quickly. I recommend trying out PGR. Game has been there for awhile but every new construct from a gacha is like driving a new car. The game was designed so that u can get every character for free as long as you did the dailies and event stuff. The other games i play even like Nikke are still doable but if you talk about collecting all of them it is almost impossible unless you are lucky. But bottom line the main thing is the game has to be always fresh and has to have a direction. NM turned marvel future revolutions into a gacha too. It was supposedly an mmorpg but they wanted to rake in the sales by making ppl spend on the companions and then upgrading those companions. The formula of it is always the same...the new one is meta. No math, no skill planning or anything to worry about. As long as u had it u are ahead of the game. U dont, then u probably going to be 1 shotted. KOFAS introduced a PVP system. As a fighting game fan (Mainly KOF and SF on console) i never liked the idea of simple mode let alone having 4 buttons ready to push and skills just come out. Hence KOFAS was always the beat em up style that got me hooked to it. Then ofcourse there were the story modes which took eons to be released. All they pushed were new characters all the time. And just like Forgo said, there are still many chars there not even in KOFAS. But instead they gave us crap like Bull Shit BS versions. I have played so many types of NM games I know their heart is not in the game content but money. Money being the priority is fine but the problem with that is as a player u know this devs will reach their $$ goal and then they will drop it like KOFAS. Just thanking our lucky stars NM is not as bad as those China Chinese gacha games. Those are still much more crazy.

This game was not a fighting game. It was just a game to see what char you were using and who pushed those buttons first before in PVP lol. Ill say it is a beat em up type of game but sure as hell was not a fighting game.
As a day 1 player yes, it hurts. Even though we know that something was happening these past months, but still hurts. All we can say is that it was an amazing journey. The game has a great potential, sometimes they knew how to do it, sometimes don´t. But in the end, I had a great time! I will keep playing until the last day, and for the last day I will try to make a video on its honor.
If anyone knows how to capture the game's images (especially the cards) without using a screenshot, let me know! I tried to locate the game files on the computer, but they are not located there. I didn't want to have to take a print, but if this is a last resort, I'll have to do it.
Forgo i remember u watching for the first time way back when the first tekken collab. Kofas was my fav mobile game and i wanted to understand it then when i meet u. Love ur content and i had watched ur every single kofas video since the first tekken collab. It is sad that the game is ending but i will play it till it's end. Maybe i will start solo leveling after its end so keep making videos of it. I am looking forward to watch them
I'm not buying their excuse of running out of fighters. Nah, I'm fully in the belief that the game is ending due to lack of revenue from the players quitting the game because it's a casino, not an actual game.
The game became a mess, I remember the good old days when max cp was around 15k and you needed to do was go get a character and make it reach it to level 90.
why the heck would you want an offline version? If u want to see the skills just youtube it eg. BS rugal all finishers. DUde....the offline/online mode is the real KOF game not this.

Tbh It's their Fault that the game became like this. Especially I have my Speculation that the game will shut down soon ever since they released awful Power Creep System EX and UE Characters making the entire game Unbalanced unlike it's early Days when Fes and Golden Border Characters where the go to go Deals was an amazing time of KOFAS But my time playing this game would basically go away it's really sad and really Frustrating I just hope that they pass the game to other Devs that will continue the service for a couple of year or Atleast make the game playable as an Offline game..

They should have NEVER brought in the UE's. It came in so soon after EXs too, making EXs obsolete right away. They should have promoted more EX memories, and introduced more characters. Even without collabs, there was so much that was still available. Why not more Samurai Showdown fighters? Why not more of the XIV and XV fighters? Times like this I wish I finished my game design degree.

But no they didn't even made Tun Fu Rue Playable... Instead they focus more on copy pasted Characters. It's sad there many so many King of Fighter Universe Characters and they didn't explore those Characters I be honest I think CM Yuri should have not been the one handling this Game instead pick a real Fighting Game Developer to make the Decision of the story and how the Characters should have been introduced and they should have implemented More Balance Works.

Really hurts to see this, almost 6 years of service and the game has finally come to the end, really great memories we had for the past years and all of the collab's we had, I was expecting to get more fighters in the future and the dev note came out of nowhere, after playing kofas from day 1, it finally has come to an end, so let us enjoy kofas until october.
So, End of Service is actually came out to be true? Well, that's actually sad, really... I was waited for UE Leona, and she came out. Got her A3, but shit, after 4-5 months the game will be closed... But still, these 2 years of me playing KOFAS was great. Super great. Never forget those days I spend my rubies for my favorite characters, especially for Leona. My EX Leona's A9 fully, and now I motivated to A9 her UE version, Orochi Leona, and UE Kyo aswell before the game closed in October 30th. Forgo, thank you so much for making a content about KOFAS, it's really means for me a lot.

I already quit few months after SF last year. The powercreep was too fast in this game, considering u kinda need A5 characters to even access A7, which is huge boost for the character. There were no easy EX memory to help the limit break for long time (not sure if they have it now or not). Getting gacha character to A5 with gacha alone is really hard and expensive. It would be kinda fine maybe if they didnt get powercrept within few months, like 2-3 months. Like akuma already got powercrept when next collab happened (tekken iirc)

Hearing this news broke me, but I kinda see it coming with how contents were done, and it's sad that they could've introduce really new characters and yet so many holes on the roster, like how we couldn't get all those KOF XV EXs despite devs promising them, plus the potential Story Mode plots. Sad that we'd never get the proper conclusion to the Ash saga in this game. On that note, this past 5 years have been a ride. That first day where I downloaded the game off of a restaurant's Wi-Fi, then progressing through all modes including all the pain in TAs, discovering you for tips on how I can overcome the dungeons and all the other stuffs, and the list went on, all within the entire years of this run. The WWE collab though will always be in my head rent-free, but big ups for the game for bringing out amazing fighting game collabs on the way too. And yes, once again, without your channel, I might not be able to get some know-hows on stuff. I thank you for providing viewers (me included) insights on various stuffs for the game! Unfortunately, this might be my first and last gacha game I play, for now. I'm not sure if I'd ever be into gacha games again but one thing's for sure: my only major mobile game left will be Real Racing 3 come October 30th.
What it all comes down to is money. And It's the teams fault for not listening to content creators with the feedback we have given them. We are telling that we want and they ignored us time and time again. That's why the game did bad financially recently. And what's crazy is this is the best gameplay and content fighting game on mobile. So it's crazy to have a goldmine of a game like this ending. It sucks man. Being a day one player on my channel too. Looks like I'll have to make a farewell kofas video with all the characters. I'm sure someone will figure a way to crack the game on pc and have an offline version. Fingers crossed the community can keep it alive somehow.
It's a sad day indeed, I used to play Tekken mobile and that game got shutdown, and now its KOF All Stars. The best part about KOF All Stars was collabs, I honestly don't think I'll ever play any mobile game ever again
Previously suspected to be closed due to Slow release of new hero commercials, sometimes no video or writing update games, preview new hero, - No collab, because collab company needs to spend a lot of money to put in the game KOFAS. , No collab is a bad sign New Hero UE comes out, which suspects the company lacks money and people to produce, Most KOF producers and developers switch to another netmable game, Solo Leveling: Arise - The company's revenue fell sharply compared to previous years Short talk about bankruptcy😢
That's the reason why I'm scared to put money in these games especially good games that caught my attention just for it to die on us I didn't even get all the EX characters but at least I got one of my favorite ex characters I can't even enjoy this update because I was literally crying like I love this game so much
I wouldn't look at it that way. Putting money in a gacha is no different than spending money to buy a movie digitally, or going on a trip. You paid for the entertainment. Yeah, the movie is yours, but you'll watch it how many times? I never felt bad about rewarding the devs with a little extra because of the work they gave for my entertainment. I just wish they invested more into new characters (ones we've never had), and I would have paid more.
@@travisfields157a gacha is hardly comparable to owning a piece of entertainment and quite ridiculous to suggest so. If buy a DVD, I own that media until I do something with it. If buy something in this game, and the game shut down, guess what? I no longer access to the product. It is not the same.
@kingozone Disagree, because with the DVD, you're going to watch it a few times, and there it sits. Oh, you can sell it, but it's a loss all the same. If you think about it, gacha was better because you get nothing else with a DVD. With a gacha, you get updated content every month. Despite it being gone, entertainment wise, you got more out of that than you ever got with the DVD. We're just spoiled to think everything should be free.
Netmarble's other KOF mobile game seems to be shutting down around the same time, so I take it this is something that's outta Netmarble's hands, I think NM just couldn't get SNK to renew the license. Sucks to see, still. All I can hope is that a fan makes some account extraction tools and a private server. I'd like to continue playing with my characters even after the official servers shut down and game preservation is important to me.

Although it has its gripes, this is genuinely the longest game I’ve ever played consistently, for nearly 4 or 5 years I think, and for the most part I genuinely enjoyed it. It’s bittersweet in a way, they left so much content for us to enjoy in their last moments. Thank you KOFAS and ofc thank you Forgo
That explains why the sudden generosity by netmarble to give us all those choices to pull selected characters, and even removed payable rubies… if thats the case they shld just make it a lot easier to pull orochi iori… but no… they throw insane bosses events and weird bingos ans shit that make u grind like crazy to wonder if u’ll even complete them with those 7 tries, and if it will reset attempts.. Awful way to close a game by making the final items shit hard to obtain. At least soon we can all not have to daily grind those dumb rubies for crap drop rates. It was a fun run, but time to move on.

I played this game 3 years in I quit 2 years ago. They just wouldn't drop new content we kept rolling with new characters every 3 weeks the power creep was too rapid. Once you'd get to like a character the replacement was too soon. I quit right after the 1st Street fighter update. Sorry to hear this news but the developers did nothing to save this game.

AS a lot of us fans of the KoF series and this game suspected, this isn't a surprising revelation. It hurts for sure, especially after the last, awesome SF6 collab. Now, as for not having enough fighters out there in the game to make good characters of? That is BS. Ralf, Clark, Ryo, Mai, Vanessa, Rugal, Geese, Rock, Najd just to name a few characters that could have had a UE version of them tossed into the game before it ended. It is as good excuse as any to shut down your game. They just should be transparent about it instead of lying. I played this thing from nearly the beginning where Halloween Shermi, Angel and Mature dropped, and it was a wild, but ultimately fun ride.
To be honest ever since they released Solo Leveling they stopped putting Notes and Updated on social Platforms like FB or Twitter and TH-cam about what's Coming because Majority of the players Base Jump and played Solo Leveling which kinda of a bummer tbh so sad to see the game go like literally every single day I do Dailies just to save a rubies for the Upcoming Collab of Favorite Banner to come and Then they Gave us This?! So Sad and Frustrating....

o7 KOFAS , I will never forget this game. KOFAS has been with me for nearly 6 years. I miss the time when there were no BS, SS, and EX. PVP was very interesting. There were no messy effects. We really had a lot of fun playing it. And I was also surprised that so many people watched me play the game, haha
I was excited to see the new update of O. Iori until reading their notice, which breaks my heart instantly... 💔 They did a great job on Lin, Shun nei, Leong, Oswald, Shen Woo, Isla, as well as a breakthrough to release 2003 story. I wish they could continue the rest of the Ash saga, XIV, XV storylines, as well as more fighters that were featured after the Nests Saga, such as Tizoc (King of Falcons or Dinosaurs), Malin, Duck King, South American team, the other two fighters who teamed with Nakoruru, Tung Ru Fei, Meitenkun, and even Kukri... But... this is the end of the journey...
During the update while I was doing my summons, Ive been lucky to get a streak of UE fighters around 13 UE streaks. I was like "What is happening in this upd?"
I really, REALLY hope this game gets the X DiVE treatment and gets an offline version (Yeah they'd remove the crossover characters but at least the game would be saved from becoming abandonware)

First I enjoyed playing brave frointeir as a kid then it went down and I still cant let go of that game,so much evolutions and character were left to collect,but at least I finished main story as I hd a feeling that I'll just finish it,just in case...and thank God I listened to myself and went with it. This game was changed for brave frointeir as I enjoyed playing this gacha game,it made me became a kof fan as I enjoyed watching old versions,all bosses from games fight,etc and I've met nameless,a masterpiece that had been forgotten and replaced but seeing this news had upsetted me and reminded me of back when the announcement was made for brave frointeir and now I'm going to lose this game just how I did with brave frointeir,such sadness.. I was looking forward to see OP version of nameless made or at least crossover with tekken 8 to add Reina,Azucena and Victor and Lydia in the update. That’s really stupid because they could’ve made a hole new content, collaboration,and even new original characters and for those how thinks it’s because this game is old now you can literally see like other games like db dokkan battle for example and it got it 9th anniversary few months ago it’s to freaking old but it’s fun it’s still good and it’s not dead and it’s not even a real fighting game and kof all stars team wanna end the game because they run out of ideas???
It breaks my heart to see this game shutting down it's server. We've never got any UE Versions of Joe Higashi, Robert Garcia, Sie Kensou, Heavy D, Lucky Glauber, Brian Battler, the list goes on. Might as well make the most of it until the last day. T^T
Been playing since 2020, knowing that I come back atleast once a year and coming back to my favorite characters. To now waiting for the end of the game that made me enjoy my time during quarantine. Sadly I will miss KOFAS 😢
I knew this would happen and unfortunately that time is now. I may not have been a Day 1 player, but I love the KOF series. It was awesome to see it have a mobile game for me to get my favorite characters. And seeing how they implement some mechanic or game modes are really interesting. But it is around the UE rarity getting implemented to the game where I started to lose interest. Constant power creep and no events for us to grind rubies is not a good move to me at all. I've been a F2P veteran ever since the FES Orochi Iori and Leona banner. Seeing this news is really saddening but right now it is kinda obvious. Still tho, this game has given me a good amount of joy and I'll certainly never forget this game. But if it's possible, please do have an offline version. The reason we even ask for one for the first place because we still love this game to a point. But only time will tell.

Hence KOFAS was always the beat em up style that got me hooked to it. Then ofcourse there were the story modes which took eons to be released. All they pushed were new characters all the time. And just like Forgo said, there are still many chars there not even in KOFAS. But instead they gave us crap like Bull Shit BS versions. I have played so many types of NM games I know their heart is not in the game content but money. Money being the priority is fine but the problem with that is as a player u know this devs will reach their $$ goal and then they will drop it like KOFAS. Just thanking our lucky stars NM is not as bad as those China Chinese gacha games. Those are still much more crazy.

This game was not a fighting game. It was just a game to see what char you were using and who pushed those buttons first before in PVP lol. Ill say it is a beat em up type of game but sure as hell was not a fighting game.

As a day 1 player yes, it hurts. Even though we know that something was happening these past months, but still hurts. All we can say is that it was an amazing journey. The game has a great potential, sometimes they knew how to do it, sometimes don´t. But in the end, I had a great time!

Forgo i remember u watching for the first time way back when the first tekken collab. Kofas was my fav mobile game and i wanted to understand it then when i meet u. Love ur content and i had watched ur every single kofas video since the first tekken collab. It is sad that the game is ending but i will play it till it's end. Maybe i will start solo leveling after its end so keep making videos of it. I am looking forward to watch them
I'm not buying their excuse of running out of fighters. Nah, I'm fully in the belief that the game is ending due to lack of revenue from the players quitting the game because it's a casino, not an actual game.
The game became a mess, I remember the good old days when max cp was around 15k and you needed to do was go get a character and make it reach it to level 90.

Especially I have my Speculation that the game will shut down soon ever since they released awful Power Creep System EX and UE Characters making the entire game Unbalanced unlike it's early Days when Fes and Golden Border Characters where the go to go Deals was an amazing time of KOFAS But my time playing this game would basically go away it's really sad and really Frustrating I just hope that they pass the game to other Devs that will continue the service for a couple of year or Atleast make the game playable as an Offline game..

They should have NEVER brought in the UE's. It came in so soon after EXs too, making EXs obsolete right away. They should have promoted more EX memories, and introduced more characters. Even without collabs, there was so much that was still available. Why not more Samurai Showdown fighters? Why not more of the XIV and XV fighters? Times like this I wish I finished my game design degree.

But no they didn't even made Tun Fu Rue Playable... Instead they focus more on copy pasted Characters. It's sad there many so many King of Fighter Universe Characters and they didn't explore those Characters I be honest I think CM Yuri should have not been the one handling this Game instead pick a real Fighting Game Developer to make the Decision of the story and how the Characters should have been introduced and they should have implemented More Balance Works.

So, End of Service is actually came out to be true? Well, that's actually sad, really... I was waited for UE Leona, and she came out. Got her A3, but shit, after 4-5 months the game will be closed...
But still, these 2 years of me playing KOFAS was great. Super great. Never forget those days I spend my rubies for my favorite characters, especially for Leona. My EX Leona's A9 fully, and now I motivated to A9 her UE version, Orochi Leona, and UE Kyo aswell before the game closed in October 30th.

I already quit few months after SF last year. The powercreep was too fast in this game, considering u kinda need A5 characters to even access A7, which is huge boost for the character.
There were no easy EX memory to help the limit break for long time (not sure if they have it now or not). Getting gacha character to A5 with gacha alone is really hard and expensive. It would be kinda fine maybe if they didnt get powercrept within few months, like 2-3 months. Like akuma already got powercrept when next collab happened (tekken iirc)

Hearing this news broke me, but I kinda see it coming with how contents were done, and it's sad that they could've introduce really new characters and yet so many holes on the roster, like how we couldn't get all those KOF XV EXs despite devs promising them, plus the potential Story Mode plots. Sad that we'd never get the proper conclusion to the Ash saga in this game.
On that note, this past 5 years have been a ride. That first day where I downloaded the game off of a restaurant's Wi-Fi, then progressing through all modes including all the pain in TAs, discovering you for tips on how I can overcome the dungeons and all the other stuffs, and the list went on, all within the entire years of this run. The WWE collab though will always be in my head rent-free, but big ups for the game for bringing out amazing fighting game collabs on the way too.
And yes, once again, without your channel, I might not be able to get some know-hows on stuff. I thank you for providing viewers (me included) insights on various stuffs for the game!
Unfortunately, this might be my first and last gacha game I play, for now. I'm not sure if I'd ever be into gacha games again but one thing's for sure: my only major mobile game left will be Real Racing 3 come October 30th.
What it all comes down to is money. And It's the teams fault for not listening to content creators with the feedback we have given them. We are telling that we want and they ignored us time and time again. That's why the game did bad financially recently. And what's crazy is this is the best gameplay and content fighting game on mobile. So it's crazy to have a goldmine of a game like this ending. It sucks man. Being a day one player on my channel too. Looks like I'll have to make a farewell kofas video with all the characters. I'm sure someone will figure a way to crack the game on pc and have an offline version. Fingers crossed the community can keep it alive somehow.
It's a sad day indeed, I used to play Tekken mobile and that game got shutdown, and now its KOF All Stars. The best part about KOF All Stars was collabs, I honestly don't think I'll ever play any mobile game ever again

That's the reason why I'm scared to put money in these games especially good games that caught my attention just for it to die on us I didn't even get all the EX characters but at least I got one of my favorite ex characters I can't even enjoy this update because I was literally crying like I love this game so much
I wouldn't look at it that way. Putting money in a gacha is no different than spending money to buy a movie digitally, or going on a trip. You paid for the entertainment. Yeah, the movie is yours, but you'll watch it how many times? I never felt bad about rewarding the devs with a little extra because of the work they gave for my entertainment. I just wish they invested more into new characters (ones we've never had), and I would have paid more.

@kingozone Disagree, because with the DVD, you're going to watch it a few times, and there it sits. Oh, you can sell it, but it's a loss all the same. If you think about it, gacha was better because you get nothing else with a DVD. With a gacha, you get updated content every month. Despite it being gone, entertainment wise, you got more out of that than you ever got with the DVD. We're just spoiled to think everything should be free.
Netmarble's other KOF mobile game seems to be shutting down around the same time, so I take it this is something that's outta Netmarble's hands, I think NM just couldn't get SNK to renew the license. Sucks to see, still.
All I can hope is that a fan makes some account extraction tools and a private server. I'd like to continue playing with my characters even after the official servers shut down and game preservation is important to me.

Although it has its gripes, this is genuinely the longest game I’ve ever played consistently, for nearly 4 or 5 years I think, and for the most part I genuinely enjoyed it. It’s bittersweet in a way, they left so much content for us to enjoy in their last moments. Thank you KOFAS and ofc thank you Forgo
That explains why the sudden generosity by netmarble to give us all those choices to pull selected characters, and even removed payable rubies… if thats the case they shld just make it a lot easier to pull orochi iori… but no… they throw insane bosses events and weird bingos ans shit that make u grind like crazy to wonder if u’ll even complete them with those 7 tries, and if it will reset attempts..
Awful way to close a game by making the final items shit hard to obtain. At least soon we can all not have to daily grind those dumb rubies for crap drop rates.

I played this game 3 years in I quit 2 years ago. They just wouldn't drop new content we kept rolling with new characters every 3 weeks the power creep was too rapid. Once you'd get to like a character the replacement was too soon. I quit right after the 1st Street fighter update. Sorry to hear this news but the developers did nothing to save this game.

AS a lot of us fans of the KoF series and this game suspected, this isn't a surprising revelation. It hurts for sure, especially after the last, awesome SF6 collab. Now, as for not having enough fighters out there in the game to make good characters of? That is BS. Ralf, Clark, Ryo, Mai, Vanessa, Rugal, Geese, Rock, Najd just to name a few characters that could have had a UE version of them tossed into the game before it ended. It is as good excuse as any to shut down your game. They just should be transparent about it instead of lying. I played this thing from nearly the beginning where Halloween Shermi, Angel and Mature dropped, and it was a wild, but ultimately fun ride.
They should turn it into a premium game like mega man x dive. I really enjoyed the combat and takken colab

First I enjoyed playing brave frointeir as a kid then it went down and I still cant let go of that game,so much evolutions and character were left to collect,but at least I finished main story as I hd a feeling that I'll just finish it,just in case...and thank God I listened to myself and went with it.

I knew this would happen and unfortunately that time is now.
I may not have been a Day 1 player, but I love the KOF series. It was awesome to see it have a mobile game for me to get my favorite characters. And seeing how they implement some mechanic or game modes are really interesting.
But it is around the UE rarity getting implemented to the game where I started to lose interest. Constant power creep and no events for us to grind rubies is not a good move to me at all.
I've been a F2P veteran ever since the FES Orochi Iori and Leona banner. Seeing this news is really saddening but right now it is kinda obvious. Still tho, this game has given me a good amount of joy and I'll certainly never forget this game. But if it's possible, please do have an offline version. The reason we even ask for one for the first place because we still love this game to a point. But only time will tell.
