I’m sure you figured it out, but only Sinkiang submitted. You saw sinkiang’s troops ally with you so you knew they joined you, and then saw a message that a state submitted, so you thought another one joined, but that message was for sinkiang. It’s super fascinating how we take in so much info without realizing it, and how that really messes with us sometimes.
You counted Sinkiang as submitted twice: Once when you noticed their units were blue, and then another time when you got the event for it. That's why you only got 1 puppet but counted 2

Its very difficult for sure but it can be done. Try rushing mobile inf/tanks. Most of the arab world has access to oil, but your AI neighbors won't bother developing tanks for several years. Also keep your divisions small (10w) at first to mitigate the supply issues that can arise from the poor infrastructure.

Having played China a few times before the latest update I think you got the best outcome really. Sinkiang is easily the most annoying warlord to conquer really. I guess the only better one would have been Xibei saying yes as well so you can integrate and get their generals. Best strat from what I could tell is running 4 width ahead of time infantry equipment and constantly ramming into the front along with building only military factories for the entire war w/ 0% Consumer Goods factories.
Challenge: Portugal takes South America and europe with his new focus tree without order 66. The territories have to be anexed in a peace conference and not only taken. Portugal have to be a monarchy. Sorry if something is wrong, I am portuguese and I don't speak and write english very well.
FYI, if you hit control-B it will strat redeploy units along their existing movement path. That is a little bit faster than strat redeploying them all to one tile and then having them fan out automatically. Note that this is different from the normal strat redeploy shortcut, and for some reason it only works if you have units from just one army selected.
Taureor, if your troups don't automatically redeploy you can press ctr+b and they will take the railroad You can also hold shift while setting a field marshall order and the individual armies won't get orders, it's just 1 large order for the entire army group
Honestly for some reason it bothers me how you did this with Nationalist China as they were friendly with America, would made more sense doing it with Communists or Warlord.
Taureor, if you hit Ctrl+B while your armies are moving to the front you can make them strategically redeploy without changing their route, so you dont have to make them go into one tile and then spread out.
