This is incredible! I have watched 10 times now. What an inspiration, gives me hope for the next generation. As a kid I idolized Xena, but this little girl is the real deal. We need THIS energy in the world right now. Awesome!

My 3y/o daughter told me this morning that she wanted to be a boy because “girls aren’t strong”. She gets upset at pre-school because a certain little boy (I have another name for him) likes to push her around. So I showed her this video and watched as her face lit up.. “She’s so strong!” she said to me… shortly followed by “why are you crying Daddy?”. This girl is a badass role mode of the highest order. 👊
Enroll your daughter in Brazillian Jiu-Jitsu as soon as she'd old enough. She'll be surrounded by other bad-ass girls and learn first hand that girls are plenty strong.

I think one should keep a close eye on her as she matures, stronger and even faster, the martial arts world would do themselves a favor by watching her career as she gets older.
Every time I see this, tears stream down my face with pride. Every. Single. Time. When I hear the battle cry at the very end, my face distorts with the intensity, and emotion she projects. Goosebumps. Pride. I've swam with sharks, I've sailed waters taller than buildings, I've held onto the bow of a boat during a waterspout, I've been in a 7.3 earthquake, I've had two children, I've been in a car that hit a light pole and flipped five times across a highway going 70mph, and then so much more. This is one of the most powerful things I've witnessed, and it's only on a screen. I'm am so incredibly proud of you. This IS the greatest performance I've ever witnessed.

Now I understand this is not Japanese.
This is a mixture of some martial arts, right?
So basically her move doesn't have any relationship with Japanese martial arts, even though she wears something like Japanese martical art's uniform, uses something like Japanese sword, and bows like Japanese people do.
As an acrobatic perfomance, it is definitely great!

The problem is, young kids like this tend to be very spastic in their movements because they aren't old enough to have true grace in their movements. I'd like to see her do this in a few years or so, and in several years.

Whilst the girl is amazing, as Pop Per says - because of her age she lacks the martial arts skills - currently she's a great actress and dancer but there are heaps of technical flaws with her movement. If she was an adult and performed the same routine she would most likely score poorly, it's just the wow factor of a young kid doing this that captures everyone.
But as pop per says - if she keeps it up, she will gain and refine the technical side of it and be truly amazing I'd imagine in the future..

Anyone who thinks her movements are "graceful" is as above, or they don't know or understand what the term "graceful" means. (perhaps their eyeballs are broken) I suppose I could point out that her ability to remember and technically execute the movements, which seems to be very well done, is not the definition of "graceful". They are two separate and distinctly different things.
You see the same thing with young dancers and almost all young people. (~ sub-16-year-old +/-, and definitely sub-teen) They just don't have the physical maturity to move gracefully. I've probably seen less than a handful of young people who are, for whatever reason, truly graceful. Just like it is amazing when a young person can sing really well, or do most anything really well.
Although many young ballerinas tend to be more graceful than other young people, either because they have some sort of innate talent (and are attracted to the art form) and/or due to experience and training. But even their amount of grace tends to be "lacking" and noticeable.
It's most likely simple human biology and physiology. (and why we have terms like "gangly teen" and "coltish" and others)

All that screaming which have nothing to do with Kiai " the spirit" and the loud music aswell sucks - the americanisation of martial arts which turns it into martial show instead of art and a black belt at 7 is a joke its more or less the minimum time for hardcore training in most decent dojos for a black belt.

FreedomFighter2002 What does jealousy have to do with anything - been training for 25-26 years just in a way more traditional way then the american way with all the random effects and havent trained any style where u can get your black belt without attleast 6 years of intense training - its how you see martial arts either its art and a form of life or its entertainment and showmanship.
