    Thanks for the videos m8 super helpful, quick question... If that were a stainless pipe would you still lay wire or dip? I'm decent at mild steel pipe but never seem to be able to get enough build up in with my stainless pipe. Cheers bro

    • @weldfox472
      @weldfox472 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      Depends . On sch40 and thicker backfeed . On sch10 and thinner keyhole and dip . Overhead part on thin pipe you should put enough in that it satisfies the puddle and swells over to the bevel . That way you will have enough buildup. I never backfeed on thin pipe as the heat you need never is enough to melt the wire you put on the inside 100 percent and you sometimes end with whiskers , you can do it but you need more time to burn it off . Allways remember to put the wire on the very leading edge of the puddle and satisfy it by putting in enough to the point that it swells up , either back feeding or not . Hope that it helps for you . Grt

    • @X3MTIG
      @X3MTIG  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey bud, depends of the thickness. Std wall and up, backfeed and lay wire, anything thinner, keyhole or dipping. Try to weld with 3/32 filler wire and loose 3/32 gap or 1/8 gap.

    great video, but I have a question for You: how would You do root it in this position for example, on superduplex steel? You would use dipping technique?

    • @X3MTIG
      @X3MTIG  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Depends on wall thickness, if it’s standard and above I’ll do the same, anything thinner, probably keyhole to dipping technique!

    Hey bro, I've been laying lots of stainless beads this past year, I'm getting pretty good. But, I'm trying these last few days to get a beautiful blue on the welds, like in the weld porn videos. I saw you did it in one of your vids about a year ago. Can you get that blue consistently? I know that it's just an oxide layer and yes you're going to clean it off anyway. But it's just that wow factor you know. Lets say for example a schedule 40 4" stainless pipe. How would you go about getting that lovely blue? Or if you know any videos of anyone that knows how to that'd be perfect.
    I love your videos and I've learnt so much from them so thank you

    Hey whatsup bro, I just got a question, Im currently a pipe welder rn at a refinery in america and im american, but next year Ill be abroad in Germany and Korea, Is it possible to work as a pipe welder in those countries from your knowledge? Most people in my job only work in U.S and usually from what I gather those abroad jobs are just recommended in or friend of friend type thing. And Im sure each country has their own standards of welding and Its pretty hard to find any knowledge about this specifically.

      You have to talk with your potential employer about regulations, the biggest challenge would be language barriers and additional testing or training, welding is welding, same, wherever you go, if you have skills you can succeed anywhere, but get your credentials recognized, that’s big question mark ⁉️ Europe is mainly TIG welding same as Korea .
