1700 series are made in Japan and the 2600 series in India. The old tractors were made with American steel!

This is complete bizarre to see that much damage, I used mine with pcv pipe to run pex for watering and hit many rocks and roots. The subsoiler should be a mass of mangled steel long before the tractor should suffer any damage.

I agree. I have to believe there was a defect in the metal. That being said, the location where the bottom 3 point hitches connect seems a little odd. Note that have since used the same subsoiler modified to lay pex as well. We are in Texas so did not go very deep and only hit some small roots, but it held up fine.

Wow, this has me a bit concerned. I've never seen anything that severely cracked just from pulling a sub-soiler. I used my sub-soiler on my MF1533 without a glitch but never took notice where and how the 3 point hitch attaches. Thanks so much for this video. The dealer seemed to come through on his end but it shouldn't have taken you to call the Massey Ferguson factory yourself. Have you used the sub-soiler since the axle housing has been replaced? That's my concern. Again, thanks for this video.

We have not used the subsoiler since the tractor was repaired. I do plan to use it again in the next few weeks. Will just take it slow and easy. I have used a 6ft box blade with the tines down to loosen a very compacted driveway and had no problems at all.

No other problems. It is really a good tractor, big enough to handle round bales of hay but small enough to maneuver easily. The cab is really nice.

Glad to see that they fixed the tractor. Do you have your rear tires loaded . The old tractors of yesteryear like the 8/9N fords could take a beating and keep on ticking. If you knew or had seen what my kin folk did with those tractors and not break anything, it would raise the hair on the back of your neck. They farmed the mountains and made a pretty good living.
Take care and stay safe 😀

Yes those old tractor were built like tanks. The tires are not loaded. When lifting heavy items in front, like a round bale of hay, I just put on a tiller or box blade to counter the weight. The only issue with filling tires is it is a little harder on the grass fields, especially when wet.
