I don't usually comment on videos but wanted to say that you did a great job with this review! Others haven't shown anything about the setup process, and I loved the Q&A at the end. Thanks for the video!
I love that your reviews are not sales-y or overly critical of things that don't really matter. Knocked this one out of the park man! and thanks for the comment feature lol
I appreciate you saying that. I definitely tried to avoid doing a typical review. Thanks for participating in the questions. It really helps to make sure I cover things I wouldn’t have thought of.
Awesome review! I like how much you showed of the install, the other reviews didn’t show the install process and it’s great to know that you should put the trolley on first. Also, great answers to my questions plus all the other community questions. Keep it up, bro!
Awesome, glad you liked it. After seeing Glucks and Coops videos I was glad I took a different approach with mine. I think questions from the community is something I’ll incorporate in every review from now on.
You mentioned clearance for lat pull down but I’d love to see a measurement of the seat at the lowest position and when the cable ball thing starts when at the highest setting. I say atx have this measurement on one of their lat pulldown machines and I think it would help if this was normalized so we could compare
Thank you so much for this video. Did you find that the pulley felt like there was a lot of friction initially? Even the lightest weight is feeling quite heavy.
just preordered mine so i wont get it till December but I'll try to keep everything you said in mind: oil the rod, make sure those guides are 90 degrees, add the cable pulley prior to constructing, and get a pin like you used to keep it from hitting the cable. Hopefully i didn't miss anything major. And by the time mine arrives I'll have more money for stuff like the pegboard 👍
@@KaizenDIYGym I've never built one before so i def didn't know about the oiling part but it makes sense since it's a moving part haha Did it come with a pack to use? If not, is there a specific type that's been working for you?
Best review out there so far. Sorry man one other question... I asked you earlier about cutting uprights to fit my bssement. Do you think if I wanted this just as a lat pulldown I can keep the top piece and not thread the cable through the trolley that moves up and down? The top part looks a little bit like the slinger and then that way the cable is on top of you vs out in front?
I had the same trolley issue with my straydog carriage assemblies. Went to try to just install them and had to do disassembly. The fit seemed better though
I have a question: my gym is a building I had built that measures 16x20 with decent height ceilings. However there is a structural support beam going right down the middle when I’d like to eventually put either a Dane or possibly an Ares depending on my money situation and availability. The beam is 90” off the floor and only a single 2” beam. Will the Dane fit if I straddle the beam down the center of the rack?
Also to clarify Kyles answer on why he switched and needed more footprint, I know him personally and the REAL answer is more room for more belt squats 😅
Which way do the numbers go on the bottom two braces in between the posts? 1 starting in the back to the front or the other way around? The directions are truly terrible :)
Jealous this fits in your basement gym!!! I really wanted to buy this but my ceiling is only 90 inches. Im pretty handy... being a diy guy do you think this could be modified for a lower ceiling height
I thought about that a lot before actually assembling it in my gym. I think it is possible. You’d need to cut down the uprights and cut down the guide rods. Once you got the rack in place, you’d need to modify the length of the cables. There’s not a lot of room for error but it can be done.
@KaizenDIYGym awesome! Appreciate the response. Never sure if the guide rods are threaded if that would be an issue. I want this for a lat pulldown not really a ft and I'm short so not worried about rom.
Am about to order from Harbor Heavyweight.. How do you like it? Any attachments you have put on? Would love to see it in a home if you have a social media presence 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Crazy how companies like harbor heavyweights co, Vesta and others have had this product for over a year and some change but fringe gets no heat for basically copying all of these products
THIS is why we gotta support content creators! This likely will save HOURS for those who assembled without putting the carriage trolley on first
That’s right man, I make the mistakes so the viewers don’t have to!

Great review. Basement gym looks great.
Awesome, thank you!
Looks like a pretty sweet setup
It is really awesome. I love it.
Thank you so much for this video. Did you find that the pulley felt like there was a lot of friction initially? Even the lightest weight is feeling quite heavy.
Yes, a good amount of friction with the lightest weight. Gluck’s Gym measured the weight, I recommend checking out that video.
@ thanks! Did you have any solve for the friction? Did it get better with use over time?
thanks for the video
I’m glad you enjoyed it
Looks nice for the price I tried to order however they are out of stock for the next 4 months.Great review

Interesting. I hadn’t thought of that but I do think it’ll work.
Question. On Glucks channel he said the pulley wasn't smooth once set up. Was that an issue with yours or maybe it was a one off?
I had the same trolley issue with my straydog carriage assemblies. Went to try to just install them and had to do disassembly. The fit seemed better though
Yeah, I probably should have paid closer attention to the instructions
How’s the lat seat? Still pretty stable without the hitch pin in the back?
The seat feels solid. I didn’t use it without the hitch pin but it should be fine.
Have huge issue with the center selector rod hitting the 20lb plate on both sides. Not cool for something I had to pay 2500 for. Is there a fix ?
Yes, the fix is in the video you just commented on
Damn, how many Danes did Fringe send out? Looks great! Too bad shipping to Canada is like the price of another Dane! LOL.
Must be why they are sold out already! They sent their whole stock to youtube reviewers.😂
@@coramdeo9341 yeah, I bet 😂
By my count, they sent 4 - Coop, Gluck, Matt Pendergraph, and myself.
Less units than freak athlete sent out of their Nordic hyper 😅
Dang it sold out before you could even make your video that’s crazy!
I’m not surprised. It’s a pretty good deal.

That’s cutting it close but I think it should fit. That’s similar to my set up.
Also to clarify Kyles answer on why he switched and needed more footprint, I know him personally and the REAL answer is more room for more belt squats 😅
Very true!
@@KaizenDIYGym love it!!
How did you attach the guide rods to the top of the rack? Mine are coming up 2 inches short and I'm really confused.
I think, based on his assembly, is they are short, but you have to pull them up into the housing
Does it come in plate loaded? I NEED it to come in plate loaded...
Which way do the numbers go on the bottom two braces in between the posts? 1 starting in the back to the front or the other way around? The directions are truly terrible :)
I think that’s up to you. It’s a matter of preference.
I was about to buy it bc price point but range of motion in lat pull down looks terrible for taller guys

Are you talking about the Mammoth belt squat that I helped design?! Why yes sir, it can be attached to this rack!

They’re all ordering from the same factory in China. Same equipment, different logos.

Yeah, I guess we have different definitions for an “All in one” machine

Umm, I don't think a smith machine applies here. "All in one" is not misleading here as zero people expect this to come with a smith machine.
