I wish there was a way to certify cultured / fragged corals for US/Canada cross border shipping. We need access to this non-destructive aspect of the market.
Pricing is wild and ambiguous. 5 to 10 times what I see in Europe's most expensive store for similar specimens. But water and electricity are about 30x more so if corals were priced like this there would be no European reefing. I purchased the same style psychadelic 6000 dollar acanthophyllia for 690 Euro a couple of weeks ago. I felt bad, guilty, after I got home and placed it. Now I feel better. Much, much better!
So jealous with the variety of rock anemones you guys have in the States/Canada. Very hard to get them here in Australia and the few I’ve seen for sale are plain & boring and they’re $300-$500!
Couldn’t agree more about the hanna pen. I only trust it the day I calibrate it…and even then, I still double check with refracto. So I’m not sure why I even use it at all lol

Bro literally make a perfect batch of salt by weighing it. An use a Hannah an your refractometer you use an please tell me the results you get. I did an my Hannah an it read the same. But I calibrate my Hannah every 3 weeks. An it has always been good. Not trying to argue either just my experience. Also love the channel man. Wish I lived in Canada
No doubt. Trust me I don't. I hate my AI lights. Eco tech are better kessli are better. All my AI lenses always melt over time. Over priced junk really
You said a few times "if you could take something home." What are the rules around bringing corals back? I looked into it and I can't figure out if they count as a class 2 in CITES, and if so does that mean they can be brought back?
I hate reef shows and frag swaps. All sucks, I’m in south Florida we have a lot of them. Everything’s over priced to the max, if you want like a specific coral that’s hard to find sure go to one. Other than I only and I mean ONLY buy coral from people on marketplace or offer up. At most I trade in nems for credit and get a coral from an lfs like that. I got 2 huge bicolor frogspawn frags for 50$ a pop. My lfs sells those for 175+..
Its scary my car was free to me inherited it with 13k miles on it and its 20 years old now so all corals are not expensive then my car and I have 2k into my nano reef fluva evo 13.5 keep up the great videos

I just want to say that while those corals are awesome the title of your video should have been Corals that COST more than your car , because they are not WORTH more than your car, it is just what they charge because stupid people pay that much money to own one of these , but great job on your videos guys
I wonder, are these corals REALLY worth that much? Or do people give it a super duper fancy name and ask whatever the F they want? Come on, 4500 bucks for a coral? That's just insane. Why? Is it on purpose to keep the hobby 'niche'? Is it for bragging rights? I know that collecting, shipping etc or growing corals costs money but really, these amounts are just a rip off! It just doesn't make any sense. Why is a green torch $100 and a blue and green with a fancy name $500?

I have the Hanna desk top salinity meter which is very good. Their 120 dollar Ph pen is great also. Their economy line meters are not so good.
