This is an absolutely incredible effort, probably one of the best in the world yet. Detroit needs to be so very proud of this and thank you to FORD for doing this and their own unwaivering loyalty to this project. We are so honored and lucky to have the structure now in Detroit.
Amazing! From left abandoned and decaying for decades and in just a few years, restored to like it was brand new. To everyone that was envolved, Great job!!
🎉 I can't wait to go there, and see the new inside. I've been coming to this building, since 1970's. My foster dad use to work on the 13th floor, in the mailroom. 🚂
I rode the train from Gaylord Mi to Detroit around 1958. I was about 8 years old and was with my older cousin Shirley. I grew up about 14 blocks from here.
Me: “I really want to see this. I’m going to fly out to Detroit specifically for this. I’ll go Sunday through Thursday so I can travel Friday and settle back down at home on the weekend before work.” [Books hotel and plane tickets.] [Gets to Detroit; picks up rental car and checks into hotel. Drives Downton to see station.] Michigan Central Station: “Closed Sunday through Thursday.” Me: 😐😑😐😑😐😐😐😐
You mean that crappie church that caught on fire a few years ago. And France wanted the world to remorse over a building. Now that was funny. Detroit should be proud to be able to renovate gems such as thr station.

This building will contain Ford offices, retail spaces, and eventually a hotel. Four of the ten station platforms were retained as well, in case Amtrak wants to return there, so this would be no place for gang bangers, since Ford will have security in the building.
Gorgeous. What a brilliant renovation. Detroit, Michigan and the country have to proud of this architectural wonder.
Absolutely spectacular renovation on a building of true Detroit history!

Absolutely magnificent, thank you to the Ford family for saving and renovating this architectural marvel. I hope many more buildings could be saved.
Ford might ignite something! I like this from Pittsburgh, PA here. Reminds you of something out Andrew Carnegie days.
Absolutely SPECTACULAR.
Congratulations to Detroit and to Mr. Ford! Magnificent ! This is a treasure that future generations will be able to enjoy.
It's beautiful! Fabulous work by Mr. Ford and his team.

Incredible! 😍
Are they going to put trains back?
Wow!
It's beautiful, but looks like many other Central and Union stations inside, so I wouldn't say unique from an aesthetic standpoint.
But considering it's a rare sight these days
