    Hello from Australia!
    I've just descovered you on TH-cam and I love your videos and your beautiful work.
    Do you have an online shop that I can purchase through?
    Thanks
    Katie

      Hi Katie, nice music. In a normal world we sell almost all we make through our shop, so we have done limited e-commerce. The web site is www.westcotebellpottery.ca and there is a virtual tour of the showroom. I am going to update tomorrow by doing another video of the current showroom display. If you see a piece in the video just give me the time stamp, or take a screen shot. I hope Covid has treated you kindly in Australia, I heard you have been successful at mostly eliminating it. Nova Scotia has been very good at keeping it in single figures. I also posted a lot of new pieces on the web site. I am trying to learn guitar but my left hand is too stiff after 47 years pushing clay, C chord is tough. So I am buying a tenor Guitar on Tuesday, narrow neck and four strings. My next few videos will make you happy to be down under, lots of snow. Take care and stay safe.

    How does one avoid pots from scooting around in the Griffon Grip while trimming?

    • @Vsmithpots
      @Vsmithpots  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The pads are rubber and hold tight.

    Hi and thank you for the great video! With the larger pieces you did the first pull very narrow. How did you move the hand inside the pot? Do the fingertips move at the same pace with the outer fingers? Or do they stay almost still and you do the pull against the side of the finger/fingers? I’m asking this because my pots tend to widen from the top 😅

    • @Vsmithpots
      @Vsmithpots  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The cylinder will always widen as you put your hand down inside. When you start the pull from the bottom your outside fingers are below the inside fingers, so they touch the clay last as you raise upwards along the wall. You also do not press hard from the inside, so it does not widen. The form bends in the direction you apply pressure. I will mail your pieces tomorrow, we are having a serious ice storm with 2 1/2cms of freezing rain and ice pellets, so I doubt the post will move much tomorrow.

      @@Vsmithpots Thank you for your reply! I just have to ease the pressure from the inside (I always thought it is a must to press with an equal amount of force from both sides when making the first pull) If the weather is terrible don't worry about the shipping. Better to stay safe than go out in a storm!
