This is the best Gaither lineup I’ve heard to sing “Daystar”. They sing this under God’s anointing and love. What a witness this song is. Michael is such an expressive and compassionate singer. Every time I come here to listen to these brothers sing this song the tears just start rolling down my cheeks. The message is so good. Amen 🙏🏾
There are times I wish time could stay still, so none of these singers could keep singing indefinitely and continue blessing the The Lord and us. PTL. Thank you Lord for giving them this talent.

Daystar was a 3 way collaboration between myself Shawn Obrien and his best friend Michael Wilde. We wrote Daystar right after Rob Balmer's funeral (Good Friday in 1989). All of us went to high school with Rob.

The first verse on this version is the most beautiful male vocal ever recorded, and the funny thing is that Michael isn’t really trying very hard.
People forget how brutally judged *Michael English* was by the "Christian music industry." *He made a mistake,* and he was torn up, chewed up like garbage by the "proponents of forgiveness." He faced his demons with sadness, and bitterness, *all alone. His coming back to sing is nothing short of a miracle. *Shame on the goldpeckers of the "Christian music industry."*

Moreover, *Russ Taff knew* what was going on with Michael at the "time of indiscretions," yet, he gently *encouraged* him, and loved him as *Jesus* would. The industry bigwigs are the ones who banned him. It's a *business,* brother. If things had gone wrong with Michael (i.e. suicide), would, say, *Mr. Gaither* have boasted "success" at Michael's "gleeful" return? No, because Michael would have been dead. I can tell you that, professionally, *many new clauses* regarding *behavior* were added to Michael's *career contract.*
