I grew up watching this era of MaDtv. I remember it fondly.
thanks. i'm glad it left good memories!
There was more than one era of MadTv?
i think when the cast changes people consider that an "era" of the show - when you're on for 14 years... you have eras. like taylor swift. 😂 😂 😂
Yeah. I'm old enough to remember when MADtv started out in 1995, but, with the exception of season three and some of the cartoons they had in seasons one and two, I never really liked the show and only really watched it because it was a great way to kill time before Saturday Night Live (which, yeah, might not be as funny as this show, but has a more solid pedigree and can be just as entertaining). Then I saw the Comedy Central reruns (which included a lot of episodes I never saw before since I didn't know MADtv was still on in 2003) and realized that seasons eight, nine, and ten are just as good as SNL and, if the show was like that from the start, then I would believe the claims that MADtv is better than SNL (right now, I think MADtv is on the same level as SNL because, while seasons 3, 8, 9, 10, 11, 13, and 14 are great, the rest [1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 12] are average and season 15 [the failed reboot from 2016] is awful. Besides, there already exists a West Coast sketch show that's louder, cruder, and more adolescent than Saturday Night Live. It's called "Fridays" and it aired on ABC in the early 1980s).
yeah. i was a fan from the beginning. and it was like crazy wish fulfillment to actually end up ON it. especially with Mo - who was a friend from our younger days! ( we performed together at Disney/MGM Studios! - now Disney Hollywood Studios ) - 8, 9, and 10, baby!!! those were my years!! so fun.
Love these videos! Grew up watching MadTV here in Colombia 🇨🇴 and it was one of my favorite tv shows.
I remember laughing my ass off with the Fantanas 😂
Maybe the Fantanas will be coming your way soon. Stay tuned! *"fanta, fanta... don't you wanna?"* 😂
Paul, you still give me so many laughs to this day. Also, somehow you and Michael Hitchcock figured out the perfect comedy chemistry. 😂
thanks so much. i love Michael. it was fun.
🎶 fourteen fabulous years 🎶 😂💜
🤣 that's my fav too 🤣
I love how Stephanie is *so* into the music
she's the best - i loved doing EVERYTHING with her!
omg the "experiment" line was so funny i almost spit out my drink 😅
one of my favs too!! ❤️
Thank you, Paul, Michael, Phil, Nicole and everyone else on this show,, i used to watch mad tv in the early 2000s on CC
This show in some ways really needs to come back, SNL is pure trash, and recently I realized why mad was always a way better alternative, one episode you are poking fun at bob dole and George W bush, and the other you have a John Kerry sketch, shitting on him too, which is fuckin great btw, but it wasn’t just political sketches, everyone seem to have there own personality, and it just worked
yeah, NO ONE was safe! ha. thanks for the compliment. 😊
I miss madtv
it was fun
