Its not Toron its Turin. In italian it’s pronounced Torino. I’m with you. My favorite sunglasses to this day. Btw I have the exact 649’s. Frame colorway is called Terra di Siena which is translated to land of Siena and brown lenses in size 54•20. Also agree with you that 649 Persol chould be worn as an oversized pair of sunglasses while the 714’s should be worn as true to size.
You gotta get the temples around the ears adjusted so they give more hug. You might have to travel to a flagship level store to get them fitted by a pro, but maybe someone local has skills.
I have the same problem wearing 649 only during summer’s months becuse of the sweat. During the rest of the year no problem, my nose is dry. In summer i’m using oakley, they aren’t as cool as persols but they work very well and stay perfect on the nose thanks to the rubber in the bridge.
I can only say that’s happened to me once while looking down after I had gone swimming and had a wet face. They fit me like a glove at 54mm size, although granted I do have a pretty high and narrow bridge for them to rest on; the keyhole rests on the right spot between the eyebrows to stay nicely anchored. Getting the temples heated and adjusted to your head at a Persol or LensCrafters store will make all the difference. They may charge you for the service if you didn’t buy them there.
