Captain Drone just helped me get into the air with an FPV race quad! I am also a junior member of an RC plane club and learning to fly model aircraft. You can do it Captain Drone! Just pretend its a non headless mode quad and don't stall it. The SAFE stabilization software means you will be able to fly without stalling and thus review small RC planes without crashing them- but the experts (not me) in quads and airplanes fly WITHOUT stabilization. Since I think most folks on your channel are newbies, your journey flying fixed wing plans as a newbie will be good for your fans and you channels as we learn with you. Please start flying planes Captain!

It actually looks like the same manufacturer as the controllers are identical. Wonder if you can just order the plane and use the controller I got with the 959s?

At the moment I'm flying an 800 mm glider with 2 Syma drone motors and controller from the little yellow x18 . It works. But want something a bit better. This is available here for just under $ 200 au. But have seen other videos where they keep breaking the prop and prop mount. Is it weak as have to land on grass football field .

Nothing beats and saves money and promotes camaraderie like joining an organized club. Get a good instructor (we teach for free) and a good instructor will save your plane when you didn't even know your in trouble. More people go out buy an (Beginner) plane and crap it almost immediately get dejected and give up. Besides those little plans fly like crap and are hard to fix. JMHO
Sorry but this is definitely NOT a good plane for a beginner. Relatively difficult to take off and land with and fairly pitchy in the air if there is any breeze.
@@karthurjr 100% correct, when I started as a noob my mate was mode 1 so thats what I went with. Wish I didn't. To late to retrain my old brain to mode 2.

I've read other reviews that say flying low speed gets you into tip stalls/death spirals quickly and that plane is tail heavy and needs mods.
Then I wouldn't do any of that. It is a budget plane and requires minimal power (throttle) to fly.

I saw your review then buy it! But it has rudder issue when you engage motor the rudder can’t move properly. I bought 2 with same issues.

Yup. Crashed my foam piper 5 times before I flew straight.

More and more things are being made with brushless motors. Pretty much standard now.
In a crash, you want brushless as it handles crashes extremely well.
Why did they ever discontinue the "Mud Duck"... that looked so great and easy to fly.

Yes Jacques is a party waiting to happen! You could put a camera on the plane (insta 360 go). Larger battery gives longer flight time.

Yes, I believe you can bind it to the RADIOMASTER, although I have not tried it. Included battery gets you 10 mins of flight.

Without a camera onboard, you really have to keep your eyes to the sky.
A real J3 Piper is easier to fly than a remote controlled one.
