Quite remarkable that nearly 20 of these arcade conversions (if not all) made in the UK. Ocean, Imagine, Elite, Gremlin, System 3, really were remarkable companies. Much of those legacies have spread into PS and Xbox, Nintendo games.
Yeah great companies those , the reason all these arcade conversions were done by UK companies is simply because the UK excelled in arcade style games on the C64 and the US for example excelled with RPGs . But those were some of my fav game companies ...so many classics 🕹️👍

Thx for watching, nothing got swept under the carpet its simply very hard to narrow down well over 150 or so c64 arcade conversions to 20 ... These are simply my favs and there are many more that could have been added .
The Elite games in the UK had the great loading music too. A SID version of Living on Video by Trans-X against an arcade background. This was on my copies of Commando and Frank Bruno's Boxing and made a slow load time a joy to experience.
satans hollow was a pretty cool conversion as well as paperboy even though it looked ugly it played well. Honestly I was never a fan of the Crystal Castles arcade so never ended up playing the C64 version .
Cabal is a wonderful conversion, one of my fav C64 games, but as far as I know and experienced, it doesn't include the 2 player mode of the arcade. It has a 2P mode but unfortunately, it's not the simultaneous, hecty co-op like in the arcades but a turn-based one. It also lacks the evasive roll move but that's all I can complain about. Great game.
What you do is drill out that screw hole for the joystick after you take the screw out look for a drill bit that is the size of the screw without the twists. Just the solid part. Just go in the same hole but up into the stick more then use a screw that is the same size around but longer. It's easier to do before they get destroyed but you may be able to save it still.
I first played the arcade version of Bubble Bobble in a bowling Ally in Colorado. My scout troop we were coming home from a two week hiking trip at the Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico. We had some down time before heading to the airport to head home to Pennsylvania. This was June of 1987. I wasn't into bowling much. So I watched the others bowl or just played the video games there. I loved playing Bubble Bobble and as soon as I got home I was wondering if thete was a version for my C=64. Welp there was and I bought it.
Great list and a cool video. I've been following your channel for a long time now and I love the style you found for your presentations. Keep up the good work!
Besides playing very closely to the arcade version, C64 Shinobi even had the proper ending that the SMS version lacked. One my top ten C64 arcade ports
Yes! Here are the ports that were Excellent: -Pacman -Ms. Pacman -Donkey Kong -Green Beret -Space Pilot -Gauntlet -Yie Are Kung Fu (I like it better than the arcade) -spy hunter -up and down -Kung fu master -ghosts and goblins -Renegade -Buggy Boy -A.P.V. -Frogger And the worst one I can remember... no surprise... Double Dragon.
Just finished watching the whole video. I basically agree with everything you said. And - obviously! - I knew that Bubble Bobble would have been at #1! CLASSIC!
Another epic video. Knew it would be Bubble Bobble. Just a mind blowing and excellent arcade fun on the C64. Honestly how didn't dig Commando? The first arcade conversion that really put C64 arcade conversions on the map. Ghost and Goblins, played it so much (wonder how many joysticks were broken playing this?). R-Type was amazing. Alien Syndrome a classic. Gauntlet was fun too even though I think the Amiga version (Gauntlet II) was the best conversion for home computers at the time. Yie Ar Kung Fu was fun Green Berret was a good but silly difficult. Keep up the good work.
I had to leave so many off the list unfortunately but maybe I'll do another video down the line on all the more obscure conversions . Anyway thx again for watching .
@@BastichB64K Absolutely. There were many good arcade conversions for the C64. Some time they were better and more playable than the Amiga arcade conversions. o.O
@@BastichB64K watched it again after 3-4 years. Still impressed by the list and the whole video. But why did you skip WOnderboy? It is the best arcade conversion imo and should be #1.
@@Corsa15DT thx , i like Wonderboy too but theres over 100 official not counting homebrew C64 arcade conversions ... In order to get 20 i had to narrow it down dramatically
It's ashame other conversions didn't make the list such as Gemini Wing and Ghouls 'n Ghosts, seriously the C64 sequel's conversion doesn't get enough love like the first game
Helpful information. I never played much of the C64... the VIC-20 was my poison growing up. Nevertheless, it's nice to know about all of these ports. Maybe I'll throw a few of these on my 3DS and play 'em later!
The reason all those shooters aren't on their is cause they gonna appear in the top 20 C64 shooters list ... I didn't want to cover the same games twice 😀👍
I don't know what it is about Bubble Bobble that I like, because I'm really not a huge fan of cutsey platformers. But Bubble Bobble was always class to me. As far as the bad conversions of Bionic Commando and Ikari Warriors we got here, yeah I completely agree. We did manage to get the better conversions of After Burner, Out Run, and Street Fighter here though. Although I'm not really a huge fan of the original Street Fighter anyway so I didn't really care, LOL. Turbo Outrun was also a pretty good conversion as well, and that Jeroen Tel music was class. I hope someone does a re-make/reskin of Pole Position too. Speaking of good arcade remakes on the C64, I also liked the recent remakes of Frogger and DK that came out a few years ago. And although not arcade games perse, those recent Activision conversions by Antonio Savona have been top-notch, especially Chopper Command.
Yeah I agree the US afterburner , outrun and Street fighter are way better than the UK versions . Turbo Outrun is pretty cool , the music is the best !! . I featured those Antonio Savona games in my Top 10 C64 2019 games If you haven't seen it yet .
Yeah the reason they aren't is cause they on other lists i made that are more specific to their genres , they are great arcade conversions no doubt ... There's simply too many arcade conversions on the c64 🤣
Bro, I liked your list a lot, but where is Narc, one of the best arcade conversions in any platform in history!!, anyway, great video, it brought me to tears so many memories hitting me like a ton of bricks. Nostalgia Rulezzz!!!
@@BastichB64K Hey man, thank you so much for your reply, I totally get it, there are a shitton conversions for the C64 and all these conversions can't enter the "videogame valhalla", and your list is awesome, I just wonder why almost nobody mentions Narc, the conversion is amazing, nearly all features in the arcade are present in the C64 version, and is graphically competent too considering the arcade version has 32bit hardware CPU with 512x384 Resolution, is a technological miracle what Ocean did with that port IMHO, check it out!!, I think you'll be pleasantly amazed!!.Cheers Mate and once again: Thank you very much for taking the time replying me!!
Alien Syndrome - While it looks nice, they screwed up the scrolling. The screen is supposed to scroll with your character so that you stay centered. Instead it waits until you're near the edge, then scrolls the screen over. Which leads to you often getting killed by aliens who are just off the edge of the screen and much closer to you than they should be. There are actually two versions on the C64. One version scrolls the screen, then stops and waits for you to approach the edge again. The other scrolls continuously, but it doesn't start scrolling until you're about 3/4 of the way to the edge, which also means that you're too close to the edge to avoid the aliens that appear. The C64 version isn't unique in this respect as they made this idiotic change on almost all the home ports. Cabal - Cable? I think you mean Ca-ball. :) Other really good C64 arcade ports: Gyruss (you can hear the music better than in the arcade version), Crystal Castles (Thundervision version, it even has the secret warps), Satan's Hollow, Congo Bongo (disk version), Zaxxon (disk version), Hat Trick, Mr Do's Castle, Omega Race, Pooyan, Tapper.
Yeah all those games you mentioned are pretty good conversions I had to axe because there were so many othersfor the list , the C64 was lucky to have a lot of great conversions
@Skeletor The Supreme - I've only played the C64 and Atari 2600 versions, and I never played the 2600 cartridge much because you needed to use that stupid "Booster Grip" joystick add-on, for the completely unnecessary extra button.
I also liked Strider very much. That music.... for me most C64 are forever burned in my memory because of the music. F.E. Midnight Resistance? - music. Rastan? - music (couldn’t finish the game because of the swinging vines that...glitched?). Bionic Commando - music (great game!!!!). And so many more...
I am sure the Arcade version of Bubble Bobble had 200 stages, why I say that is the SEGA Master System Taito Bubble Bobble has 200 stages.. It says it on the box I have it on the Master System.. The Master System version was created by Taito in house.
No the original arcade had 100 , a lot of the ports later had slight alterations like the 200 lvls but the C64 version is the same as the arcade . Thx for watching twice 😂👍
NTSC Ikari Warriors looks like an EARLY SEUCK game. That's NOT a compliment by any means. LOL. As far as the music in the NTSC version of Bionic Commando, it's not the worst I've heard, even by C64 standards (the music from the C64 port of Marble Madness is pretty dire too), but it has to be some of the most GENERIC music I've heard come out of the SID chip.
Yeah they were , I didn't forget Bomb Jack .. I just don't think it's a great conversion , they are making a new C64 version which looks a thousand times better
Also with the Atarisoft conversions (as I have a few original copies of some), they only run at proper speed on an NTSC machine. They're sluggish as all hell if played on a PAL system (which emulators generally default to). Also, the NTSC release of Gauntlet by Mindscape is apparently still very buggy like how the PAL tape version is. To the point where the game is impossible to lose. X)
It really comes down to using pal version games on pal setting and ntsc versions on ntsc settings ... Using pal games on ntsc is not the solution ..it's a glitch fest , music is wrong etc... And visa versa . I'm just talking about emulator here of course but yeah using the right versions on real machines is essential .
@@BastichB64K it's just funny, given in the case of Gauntlet, Mindscape and U.S. Gold didn't even bother to fix the timing issues for the release on my side of the Pond.
Liked Space Harrier for the C64? Check out the US version, which is normally considered superior. Shame you left it out, there's extra bells and whistles to behold in there
Great video. Personally I think Midnight Resistance should be way higher on the list. IMHO *the* best contra-style shoot'em'up the C64 has to offer. Also, where is Wizard of Wor (the 1983 version - not the mediocre one from 1982)? Speaking of Wizard of Wor, there is a new crack that enables a co-op two-player mode without friendly fire: csdb.dk/release/?id=183327 I think Mario Bros (the 1984 Atari version - not the crappy 1987 Ocean version) deserves an honorable mention. Also, check out the modern conversions of Donkey Kong csdb.dk/release/?id=151272 and Frogger csdb.dk/release/?id=152330 Totally agree on Bubble Bobble - awesome game, awesome conversion, great memories. Played it for hours with my brother and all my friends. Cheers :)
Thx for watching , yeah I had to have some sort of cut off with the amount of games I could mention ... I replayed over 100 conversions to make this list so ... Wizard of war (1983) is a good conversion just I prefer the ones I mentioned , so many good ones off the list lol 😂. Ive seen those donkey Kong and Frogger games which are cool and am gonna feature them in another video
I saw a brief flash of Wizard of Wor just before showing #1. What a tease! I mean, it was a truly excellent arcade conversion, but it's more early old school like the AtariSoft arcade conversions.
😂 yeah I know it's simply another game that got pushed out like a bunch of others , like I said in the vid my personal favs were from the mid 80's onwards . Still a great conversion though at least the 1983 version anyway
Hi BastichB! I think you should have replaced OPERATION WOLF (love the short music jingles) with Green Beret. I know it is pretty hard and partly unfair, but I think it is one of the rare games where the C64 version is better than the original. I prefer CABAL over OPERATION WOLF as you can even destroy the back ground graphics and it is more balanced. OPERATION WOLF is nontheless a masterpiece in reference to the code and the stable energy/ammunition bar on the right, wich is unique, while having scrolling on the left at the same time! Despite your mentioning DOUBLE DRAGON (which is sooo bad, I agree) you totally missed out DOUBLE DRAGON II (shame on you! ;-), which I consider the best brawler on the C64. It even has a 2-player-simultaneous mode!!! And you can through objects (boxes, knives). The graphics look a bit chunky and bulky, but it plays really well and I think it even beats TARGET RENEGADE by far (even though it has these nice overlay sprites). This is just my statement from insider to insider... Great video nonetheless! Cheers
Yeah totally dude , it's all just my favs in the end and whatever yours are of course is more important . I agree Double Dragon 2 is better than Target Renegade by far 🕹️👍👍
Those Nostalgia guys should've done quite a bit better regarding the cover art. Ripping off Glu's "Frontline Commando: D-Day" flagship artwork shamelessly without even trying to add or substract anything, artistically speaking, and using it as the game cover is bad enough already, but also using it for the loading screen takes the cake. At least, when Bob Wakelin ripped off Mike Zeck's cover for the #5 issue of the Punisher's original limited series and used it for the Green Beret artwork, he had the decency to dress it up accordingly and add some artistic value of his own.
Its on there because its a good conversion ?? , like I said in the beginning of the video this is simply my favs obviously not yours so whatever you like is cool and there is no official Time Pilot C64 game Space Pilot is a unofficial clone game so it cant make the list obviously.
I have to ask, why did so many games on the C64 have a US and UK version when they could have sold the same version, also, was the UK version always the better ones because going on these, they seemed to be which makes you wonder why were so many of the US versions so crap.
A lot of it had to do with NTSC and PAL conversions and also in the 80's multiple companies could also get the rights to a single game hence different versions. But I think the reason for the UK versions usually been better is simply the genre , the UK C64 scene was very arcade styled games heavy and the US scene was very strategy and RPG heavy so the uk programmers were just way better at this style of game hence better versions. There were some exceptions like Afterburner and the modified UK Outrun , both are better US versions.
@@BastichB64K You could be right, I don't recall strategy and RPG games being that big in the UK until the 16-bit era started, I do remember in the 16-bit era that many games had different names for the US and international markets even thought the game was basically the same but at the time I wasn't that big on consoles and was more into the Amiga which didn't do well in the US so most games on the platform were European in origin, it's a shame the Amiga didn't do well in the states because it was a great machine for computing and gaming.
@Paul Aiello the Amiga did do well in the states it's just like the C64 but they were embraced way earlier by US customers , its just a different timeframe than when the Amiga & C64 became super popular in the UK and Europe .
@@BastichB64K I do remember in the early days of the Amiga doing well in the US because I remember many of the games from US publishers and developers but that started to dry up quite quickly around 1990 where most games after that were from European and other world developers, at least that's the impression I got. In any event, the PC was always going to win out over home computers and probably over consoles in the longer run, it's got too many advantages like being open, any company can enter the race, it's a big part of why the PC is so successful and still with us after all these decades, it adapts to anything that's thrown at it, unfortunately, Commodore didn't.
I LOVE your content and channel, man, but your accent is a distracting thing of beauty. I've never heard "Sly Spy" be pronounced as "slar spar" before....did you learn your pronunciation from Matthew McConaughey by any chance? 😉
I didn't like Rampage (UK) at all. Nemesis and Salamander on the other hand were great conversions. Amiga finally got Nemesis... Too late for me to enjoy.
To be more accurate - we should not call all of that "conversion". These were mostly programming from scratch efforts based on the same story line and it was all up to the developer to actually do what they could to maintain quality. I have seen many ports from atari 8 bit just awful although c64 was far superior. You can't just take a sega code and convert to c64 assembly.
..... obviously ... That's simply what you call them , calling the video "Top 10 arcade games made from scratch from the arcade converted to the C64" just doesn't work very well in video form 😉
Nice vids! Uplifting but not with the annoying toilet humour and pointless random images trying too hard to be funny. Wizard of Wor is excellent, I have it set as a fave on my Lightning Modz console. I also recall Guardian fondly from my school days, excellent Defender port, the best one, if I recall well. Will check out your vid about the R-Type guy...

Had and loved almost all these games. Though I'm surprised Wonder Boy 1 & 2, and Ghouls'n Ghosts got swept under the carpet.
Thx for watching, nothing got swept under the carpet its simply very hard to narrow down well over 150 or so c64 arcade conversions to 20 ... These are simply my favs and there are many more that could have been added .
Great list with a lot of interesting side notes. You obviously know your C64 stuff and I'm glad I discovered your channel!
Thx a lot , I hope you'll enjoy the content and thank you for watching
The Elite games in the UK had the great loading music too. A SID version of Living on Video by Trans-X against an arcade background. This was on my copies of Commando and Frank Bruno's Boxing and made a slow load time a joy to experience.
Loader music was always a great part of the game experience for me , I never got impatient waiting when you were listening to cool tunes 👍
BastichB 64K 100% especially the Ocean loader music. I even have it on my iPod 👍
I always loved the port of Satan's Hollow. It was one of my favorite shooters. U remember being impressed by Crystal Castles and Paperboy ports.
satans hollow was a pretty cool conversion as well as paperboy even though it looked ugly it played well. Honestly I was never a fan of the Crystal Castles arcade so never ended up playing the C64 version .
Super offroad was incredible to me as well.
Great game.
Yeah it's not perfect like any conversion but considering the hardware limits it's quite amazing
Nice to see so many Ocean games in this video, especially nice to see my graphics in Combat School. Great video as always.
Thank you sir , Combat School is brilliant 👍 such great presentation , gameplay & sound
We had a Shinobi machine in a collectable shop i worked in. I put alot of quarters in there. We had wwf wrestlefest too so even more quarters lol
Both great arcade games , played them both a lot back in the 80's 🕹️👍
I first played the arcade version of Bubble Bobble in a bowling Ally in Colorado. My scout troop we were coming home from a two week hiking trip at the Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico. We had some down time before heading to the airport to head home to Pennsylvania. This was June of 1987. I wasn't into bowling much. So I watched the others bowl or just played the video games there. I loved playing Bubble Bobble and as soon as I got home I was wondering if thete was a version for my C=64. Welp there was and I bought it.
Such a great conversion 🕹️👍
Nice list. Remember so many of these myself.
RIP Ben Daglish.
Thx for watching
Great list and a cool video. I've been following your channel for a long time now and I love the style you found for your presentations.
Keep up the good work!
Thanks a lot for that 👍 and cheers for been a long time watcher
Really enjoyed this Video. Thanks for typing out some of the names.
No problem 👍 , hope you found some new stuff to play
Besides playing very closely to the arcade version, C64 Shinobi even had the proper ending that the SMS version lacked. One my top ten C64 arcade ports
Yes it's a top notch conversion 👍
Yes! Here are the ports that were Excellent:
-Pacman
-Ms. Pacman
-Donkey Kong
-Green Beret
-Space Pilot
-Gauntlet
-Yie Are Kung Fu (I like it better than the arcade)
-spy hunter
-up and down
-Kung fu master
-ghosts and goblins
-Renegade
-Buggy Boy
-A.P.V.
-Frogger
And the worst one I can remember... no surprise... Double Dragon.
Nice selection and yes Double Dragon is god awful ... I actually bought it in the 80's and was so upset at how bad it was 😭😂
Just finished watching the whole video. I basically agree with everything you said. And - obviously! - I knew that Bubble Bobble would have been at #1! CLASSIC!
😀👍 awesome thank you so much for watching i appreciate it
Another epic video.
Yie Ar Kung Fu was fun
Green Berret was a good but silly difficult.
Keep up the good work.
I had to leave so many off the list unfortunately but maybe I'll do another video down the line on all the more obscure conversions . Anyway thx again for watching .
@@BastichB64K Absolutely. There were many good arcade conversions for the C64. Some time they were better and more playable than the Amiga arcade conversions. o.O
Can't argue with Bubble Bobble although surprised not to see Rainbow Islands on here too...
I like Rainbow it just was never a fav though and honestly there were far too many games to choose from 😂
Ninja Spirit, Cabal, Shinobi, Ghost n Ghoblins and Bubble Bobble are excellent ports.
Yeah they truly were 🕹️👍👍👍
@@BastichB64K watched it again after 3-4 years.
Honestly I'd love to have ... There are just so many ... So many 🕹️
Great video! I also rate Buggy Boy very highliy and still play it regularly.
It's such a fun game ! Great conversion and I play it all the time too
Helpful information. I never played much of the C64... the VIC-20 was my poison growing up. Nevertheless, it's nice to know about all of these ports. Maybe I'll throw a few of these on my 3DS and play 'em later!
Awesome glad you found some new retro gems to play 👍 enjoy
Where can you get alien storm digitally for the c64 mini? I can't find it anywhere.
Csbk.dk has a great easyflash version 🕹️
@@BastichB64K thank you!
The two best places to get games for the C64 are the CSDB (especially for newer stuff) and gamebase64.com
Marble Madness, Slapfight, Pacmania, Terra Cresta and Salamander should be on the list.
Awesome video. Good Job!
Cheers , thx for watching 👍
Great video!!! I enjoy it a lot ... and I just wanna say that GnG Arcade remake from Nostalgia it's Outstanding!!! Saludos desde Chile!!!
Thx , yeah that version is brilliant 👍
Ghosts'n goblins had the best sound track.
Yeah the C64 soundtrack is better than the arcades IMHO
Green Beret, Spy Hunter and Yie Ar Kung Fu needs to be on this list
Yeah the reason they aren't is cause they on other lists i made that are more specific to their genres , they are great arcade conversions no doubt ... There's simply too many arcade conversions on the c64 🤣
@@BastichB64K I agree, I absolutely thoroughly enjoy my commodore 64 since I was a kid in 1984...
C64 could do the synthesized voices from Gauntlet but I believe it'd have to pause gameplay to do it.
That's pretty interesting , a lot of C64 games that have speech it always happens on a still screen ... I never thought about that 👍
Bro, I liked your list a lot, but where is Narc, one of the best arcade conversions in any platform in history!!, anyway, great video, it brought me to tears so many memories hitting me like a ton of bricks. Nostalgia Rulezzz!!!
Yeah it's pretty hard pairing down a list of over 100 conversions to 20 so i couldn't include everything but thanks for watching
@@davelasertie4967 Ive played the c64 version a ton , its really good considering the limits
Awesome video
Thank you 🕹️👍
You are the best at this. Hands down
Much appreciated 😀👍
Thank You for info. I'm looking forward to playing Salamander on my new C64 mini. Anyone know if there was a Parodius for C64?
Cheers and thanks for watching , there was no Parodius but there was Nemesis or better known as Gradius as well on the C64
C64 Sly Spy was damn brilliant, played even better than the sluggish Amiga rendition of this game
Yeah it's top notch 🕹️👍
Didn't know you could do this with just 32,000 rectangular pixels.
👍
Great video, thanks a lot, Bastich! 👍👍👍
Cheers , thx for watching 🕹️👍
No IK+ ? That's possibly the finest C64 game available.
¿??????? Thats not an arcade game ????
😂👍
I spent loads of coins on Xevious. I think that c64 version was pretty good.
Yeah it was a good conversion 👍 so many I had to leave out , I played the arcade like crazy too 👌
Alien Syndrome - While it looks nice, they screwed up the scrolling.
Other really good C64 arcade ports: Gyruss (you can hear the music better than in the arcade version), Crystal Castles (Thundervision version, it even has the secret warps), Satan's Hollow, Congo Bongo (disk version), Zaxxon (disk version), Hat Trick, Mr Do's Castle, Omega Race, Pooyan, Tapper.
Yeah all those games you mentioned are pretty good conversions I had to axe because there were so many othersfor the list , the C64 was lucky to have a lot of great conversions
Omega race? really, the C64 port is even inferior to the VIC-20 version which has more RESPONSIVE controls
@Skeletor The Supreme - I've only played the C64 and Atari 2600 versions, and I never played the 2600 cartridge much because you needed to use that stupid "Booster Grip" joystick add-on, for the completely unnecessary extra button.
Great list. Bobble Bobble deserves #1 without any doubt.
It could only be Bubble Bobble right 😃👍
It’s been THAT long. When Bubble turns Bobble;)
😂👍
Rastan has great music , game not so.much 🤣 Midnight Resistance and Bionic (UK version) are both brilliant
Thx for watching twice 😂👍
wizard of wor should be in top 5
Yeah it's a good conversion 🕹️👍 I was simply picking my personal favs
Good selection. However, you might have mentioned: Terra Cresta, Side Arms and Rolling Thunder.
Might have but they are all pretty junk.
"One man's trash is another man's treasure".
Awesome vid!
Thx for watching 😀👍
NTSC Ikari Warriors looks like an EARLY SEUCK game. That's NOT a compliment by any means. LOL. As far as the music in the NTSC version of Bionic Commando, it's not the worst I've heard, even by C64 standards (the music from the C64 port of Marble Madness is pretty dire too), but it has to be some of the most GENERIC music I've heard come out of the SID chip.
Yeah the game is worst than the most amateur attempt at a SEUCK game ... I found the music to be mindnumbing in the NTSC version 😅
Bubble bobble and ghost n goblins were som great games. You forgot bomb jack thou
Yeah that's pretty bad 😭
Good job

Liked Space Harrier for the C64? Check out the US version, which is normally considered superior. Shame you left it out, there's extra bells and whistles to behold in there
I've only ever played the UK version and liked it but I'll check out the US one now so thx for the info .
Great video. Personally I think Midnight Resistance should be way higher on the list. IMHO *the* best contra-style shoot'em'up the C64 has to offer. Also, where is Wizard of Wor (the 1983 version - not the mediocre one from 1982)? Speaking of Wizard of Wor, there is a new crack that enables a co-op two-player mode without friendly fire:
csdb.dk/release/?id=183327
I think Mario Bros (the 1984 Atari version - not the crappy 1987 Ocean version) deserves an honorable mention.
Also, check out the modern conversions of Donkey Kong
csdb.dk/release/?id=151272
and Frogger
csdb.dk/release/?id=152330
Totally agree on Bubble Bobble - awesome game, awesome conversion, great memories.
Agree 100% on the Atarisoft conversion of Mario Bros- very true to the arcade and very well done and is a top 25 c64 arcade conversion
You've forgot Super Mario and Prince Of Persia... :-)
Prince of Persia was not an arcade game
@Some Drunken Fool On The Internet Yup, created by Jordan Mechner (who also created the earlier game Karateka)
i spy Beetlejuice on the shelf.
That would be Laserdisc Beetlejuice for sure 👍
@@BastichB64K for a moment i thought it was that really bad nintendo game lol

Saint Dragon, you really should check out Saint Dragon, it's great
Yeah the c64 versions great , like i said i could only choose 20 out of over 100 arcade conversions.
Great job!
Cheers , that was a fun one to make
Those Nostalgia guys should've done quite a bit better regarding the cover art.
Your video is great, by the way.
Thx for watching , it was a fun one to make
I don't see why Gauntlet belongs on this list. There were better conversions like Mr. Do's Castle and Time Pilot (Space Pilot) on the C-64.
@@paul1979uk2000 yeah that's true , you nailed it

I didn't like Rampage (UK) at all. Nemesis and Salamander on the other hand were great conversions. Amiga finally got Nemesis... Too late for me to enjoy.
I liked both Rampage versions , US one is a bit better though gameplay wise for me anyway

Terrorists, ninjas and street gangs: the 1980s Axis of Evil.
😂😂😂 and the subject of 90% of the movies I watched as a kid 😂😂😂
@@BastichB64K good times...
You forgot mullets and legwarmers. LMAO
