This is something I've been struggling with lately, I have a cat who's about 12 now and his breed tend to live a little longer so I feel like I still got some time, but I know that it's not forever, and I know that the shoe could drop at any moment realistically. You expressed so perfectly how I feel about my cat and how I've tried to just take in those moments a little more. You talking about smelling him and just soaking it in was beautiful and it's just a feeling that is so hard to express. It's some sadness, but it's mostly love and appreciation. We almost lost our ten-year-old Chihuahua last week due to an allergic reaction from a bee sting. We always thought we have four to five years with him, but last week showed that everything could change. When Greg talked about Porty and then Baileyham's Charlie, we both cried with him, understanding the pain and uncertainty. We must cherish each day and hold our furry companions as tight as we can. Tell them we love them every single day.
Tim I can definitely say the journey is worth it. I've recently had the same scare as Greg with my dog who's a 17yr old Bichon Frise. Working from home has given me more time with him knowing that sooner rather than later he will no longer be part of my life. Enjoy these moments because you will never forget them.
Absolutely crazy episode, but as someone who loves animals and have had two dogs that my family has had to put down and on our third dog being the first puppy we have ever had it was very beautiful listening to everyone talk about owning dogs and Greg talking about THE KING. It really meant a lot and thought it was a very amazing and touching episode!
After me and my family put down our yellow lab that we had for 10 years, who had grown up with us, been there for us when we were sad, laid by our feet when we were home sick, and so much more. I learned a valuable lesson in that dogs are here to teach us how to love. Because all they know is to love, they come into our lives when we need them without knowing and teach us that we can be loved and how to love one another.
I know everyone has a different experience but don't be worried Greg on the phrase "when you have kids the dog becomes a dog." We had our Corgi 2 years before our son and she is still treated like our first born. If anything it's amazing to see the bond the dog and kid create now that my son is a toddler and loves playing with her
I remember when a friend was going to Five Guys and ask what I wanted, me being hungry and not knowing what five guys was, I said get me a burger with everything on it, and when I got it, it was literally a burger with EVERYTHING that five guys has to offer on it
I agree with nick that when you say "burger" one's mind should just go to a hamburger without cheese. As a lactose intolerant person, that's also my preference. But from experience, many ppl both assume and prefer a cheeseburger, so I, by default, ask for no cheese.
In reference to their brief nugget discussion, I would definitely recommend morning star’s plant based nuggets for anyone interested. Those have been my go to since I went vegetarian with my diet.

Yes, Cheeseburger is the option with cheese. But the generalization of the term Burger I find is usually: a meat patty, cheese, and maybe some lettuce, tomatoes in a bun.
No one prepares a burger without asking for toppings. This scenario is like... I don't think it's ever happened where you are asked for a burger and then are just handed one without follow up questions.
