Happy Thanksgiving! Can’t believe time has gone by so fast since Madden died. Although I never got to see him carve the turkey in front of a camera, just makes me wish I would have done so. I’m 30 and only been to the NFL since the Rams returned to LA!
❤ Brings me back to my childhood growing up with Madden and Summerall calling games along with Dick Enberg, Keith Jackson in the college football world. It feels like the 90’s to early 2000’s was the apex of the Sports world and just everything in general. I’m sure every generation will say that but I say that with much respect to the generations before and in the future.
I hope this goes to the Madden family. When I aced my test and went to toys r us and picked up a video game with my opa, it was a Madden game. We had a moment. I cherish that!
Watching the NFL since 1965 with my dad, both my father and John would've hated to see the changes in the league, the no touching the QB, the disrespect players show towards their coaches, players complaining about not getting the ball, complaining about getting hit. The NFL is turning into a soap opera.
It’s easier to adjust on defense than on offense. Look at the scoring this year which is down. Game is way safer now and the overall skill is definitely higher. As for the relationships with coaches, I have no problem with a good player wanting a higher usage, bigger contracts or whatsoever, they are not slaves and if it’s a good player there will be a team on the market to satisfy him. I have a way bigger problem with Marcus Allen not used even close to his full potential just because it would outshine Al Davis and the rest of the Raiders too much (with all my respect to Al and how much good he did)
Thanks John I fell in love with the NFL because of you RIP❤️
