For many years, I stayed in a fantastic hotel on soi 2, and in the year prior to covid, it was taken over by a new owner. They demolished one of the best parts of the complex and basically ran it into the ground! I loved staying at that end of the city, but now I am fortunate to stay for longer and now reside on the dark side. I very much enjoyed the video,Trevor, and I am amazed at the changes that have taken place over the last few years! Ps....The soi 3 bar complex was awesome in its heyday!! As was the 2nd road end of both soi 2 and 3 😊❤
I DO love your videos!!! I'll never have the opportunity to travel Pattaya so to be able to see your videos of the town and when you go out of town are very special, informative and fun to watch. I totally appreciate the work that you've put into your videos so we can enjoy them. ❤❤
Love these vids, Trev. @2:22 or so you walk by the 'Soi 3 Cafe & Restaurant' we had breakfast there a few times -- good food, good coffee, and good prices.
I've said it before and i'll say it again: i really like these walkabouts, they keep me sane😅lol...i miss Thailand and Pattaya like crazy. Trev, you're lucky indeed to call it your home. Hopefully someday soon i can call it my home as well. I'm working on that. Just tired of the ratrace in the west. Talking about medic care here in the Netherlands: i pay €150 a month for a basis health insurance (without dental, need to get my teeth fixed next time when i'm Pattaya even when i'm anxious) and when i need medical attention i must first go see the family doctor and he will decide if he will refer me to the hospital. It takes weeks.
Thank you, Trevor, for the informative and wonderful tour around Soi 3 and 4, especially highlighting the international hospital that caters to tourists.
Hi Trevor absolutely love your walk about the soi ,s brings back lots of memories 😊Atlantic bar think bottom end soi three was bouncing at the time in 2003
During the 90s, Soi 2 was the place to be. There was a huge bar complex where is the Siam@Siam hotel now. Soi3 has always been a relatively quiet street, with the famous and notorious Welkom Inn. The bar complex in Soi3 is there since 2005.
Your videos have convinced me to come to Pattaya I have just come back from 2 weeks in Phuket and of course absolutely fell in love ❤ I'm going to work for a few months and come back in April I think a week in Pattaya is certainly calling me. Love the videos
Always love the walkabouts! Was easy enough to get travel insurance coverage (even for most pre-existing) for my previous 3 Thailand trips (although I have an expensive story, not that I'll be sharing online!). Thai hospital care was excellent (private hospital visit to Emergency dept in Bangkok). Doc suggested though I go to pharmacy to get prescriptions filled, cheaper than at the hospital. At home in Australia, emergency care is excellent and very quick when you present with a priority need. It's all relative. I've never had private health insurance in Aus and never had a problem with the public system/Medicare, but none of my issues have involved elective surgery or non-urgent stuff with longer waiting times/lists.
Just to pull you up at 14.50 you said it was drinking street, that was Sabai Resort, Drinking street was further up past the big shopping center Big C, almost to Terminal 21, great to see this end of the city again.
Really enjoyed this update, Trev. I've sent it to a pal who nearly booked into the Sabai Inn, as I thought that was in this video, now I'll have to send him your previous one for Soi 1 & 2. I do have fond memories of the beer complex in Soi 3 from 2019, and also of Drinking Street where I spotted a lovely young lady working in one of the bars, but being new to Pattaya, and temporarily forgetting my salesman's mantra of 'strike while the iron is hot', I was.. I don't want to use the word Gazumped but you get the drift!
Love the walk-around/ride-around vids, but the wi-fi is not so good at my girlfriend's house in Nam Phong so gave up about 1/3 of the way through. I'll come back to Pattaya and check it out in real time. Keep it up Trev!
A lot of Changes since your last Soi by Soi walk. YES, @9:37 I have Been to The VIRGIN rooftop Bar/restaurant. It is similar to Horizons at the Hilton. Very Pricey food and cocktails. But worth it when you want to impress someone !!
Wasn't the 'Welcome Inn' (aka the Belgium Embassy) along that Soi 3 ? Great place to stop on Friday afternoon on the way back from my office in Laem Chabang! Good start for the weekends? * Mid 90's.
Stayed in the Sunshine Vista hotel on Soi 3 in Feb and March of this year in one of the Studio Apartments great value for money, clean room with friendly staff and have already booked to return in 2025. The live music from front of Central Marina food court on 2nd Road can be heard in the rooms facing, which finishes about midnight but apart from that a quiet area. Melodies Bar and the Bar Complex are worth a visit, good fun and you will be looked after
I think it’s pronounced Might hotel trev, I have booked 7 nights there at the end of June- it’s classed as a 5 star ⭐ hotel and really looking forward to it, Any chance of a hotel vlog 🙏😊🇬🇧

When I used to stay in the sabai lodge in the early 2000s I used to drink in soi 3 and soi 2 and I used to pop in the Belgian embassy bar I think it was called great times
I stayed many times in this area, and i love it. Most of the times in soi 2, sabai lodes, but also a few places in soi 3. The location is perfect, its quiet but very central. If i go back i think i will stay in the same area, or maybe in the soi buakhao area.
Thanks Trev. Having worked in hospitals all over the world I can tell you the principles are the same everywhere. It is just that there are comparatively fewer private patients (and those with adequate insurance) that makes it a better patient experience in Thailand
Recommended massage place where I can get a post training massage and not the happy ending type . I’ll be staying at the Arcadia beach resort end of January .
Hi Trevor great walkabout enjoy this new area it's really nice . The bus Trev you know me i'm a instructor and bus driver and it's illegal too have lights over your road lights if so they have to got some cover over all the lights if not it's a ticket the only way to use the other lights if is parked and it for a show like festival but you're not allowed to drive with this light. Hospital in Chateauguay for emergency you can wait 12hours and more when you arrive a nurse see you and she judge if it's really urgent if so you can wait 1hour or so yes it's very bad here in Canada . Have a excellent day Trev and take care and stay safe my friend sawatdeekhrap kopkounmakkrap. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
for me in Canada if I go to a emergency room unless your bleeding out or having a heart attack your waiting 6+ hours to see a doctor. I had a back injury from work I got to the hospital at around 1 and didn't end up going home till nearly 8 😬
Given the thirst for knocking down nice old established beer bars and other places, I expect the days are numbered for the bars in Soi 3 like the complex on the corner of Soi 2 and Second Road and those that stretched to Soi 3 (Cherry Bar, Atlantic Bar etc). I remember after wedding drinks at the Atlantic Bar with a friend from Cornwall. I am back in Pattaya in a few weeks and will make a point of going to those bars in Soi 3 before they are demolished. First went there is 2001.
Just a warning guys if you go to the Pattaya international hospital on soi 4 and you need to get a prescription filled and you have to get it filled there if the doctor writes you one you are going to pay more than your home country I’m from Canada and prescriptions are expensive and I pay double what I would in Canada. Check with the local pharmacy first also as many prescriptions you need a doctors note in your home country you don’t need in Thailand. I use this pharmacy Fascino if you having a problem finding a certain prescription at one of the smaller pharmacy there’s a good chance this place will have it along with any medical supplies you might need.
I stayed there two months in January and February. 2024 “BJ holiday lodge” The pool area is dirty and all the pool chairs and tables has not been renewed so there is none.
I am waiting for 9mounts for a foot cast I think I will be lucky to get it before Christmas it’s gone down a lot I go to a day centre & I hear must of saying the same I stayed in a hotel in soi4&its gone it was 11years ago the only ting that’s is still the same is the hotel like a ship
I have heard good things about TJ Guesthouse in terms of value for what you pay. Not 5 star by any means but clean and decently outfitted and of course quiet area.
